Very happy with my online purchase. I found the perfect fabric for the backing of my new quilt project on fabric.com, but after reading horror stories (about their customer service, people receiving the wrong material, or their yardage arrived in remnants, etc.) I decided to find it elsewhere. Found the same fabric at the Loopy Ewe, and emailed Sheri to make sure they had enough continuous yards to fill my order. She replied immediately and explained that they never send yards in pieces without asking first. I ended up spending about $20 more (there was no bulk discount or free shipping), but it was worth the peace of mind to me. My order arrived 3 days later, in a cute package with a free retractable measuring tape that I am pretty excited about. The website is very user friendly. It is set up so you can shop fabric by color or designer. They also have a fun project ideas page where people can post their projects, and sometimes it lists the fabrics they used so you can order some. I'll be starting all online fabric searches here from now on! read more

I used to love Loopy Ewe and spend tons of money here on Wollmeise updates and indie yarn. Then I went through a divorce and moved; I purchased yarn once I moved to my new home and it arrived with no problems. Then I purchased again a month later from the Black Friday sale. They sent the yarn to my old address (which I had removed from the site but somehow it got restored, don't know if they had a database restore or what happened.) The ex didn't forward it to me, he returned it to sender. They refused to reship it to my new address without charging me again which would have negated the sale price; I didn't *need* the yarn, I only bought it because it was a good deal. Lost a customer from the snotty attitude that customer service gave me about resending it (it wasn't Sheri, it was someone else.) I can get all of the yarn they carry at other places, usually at better prices. If I'm going to support a small business, I want them to have my back when things go awry. read more

This place is incredible. The yarn section was spectacular, more than you could ask for. Amazing color, texture, favorite brands in a zillion varieties. It's unreal. The fabric selection was fantastic. Great, bright, modern collections from the best designers and companies. The lighting is so good for fabric shopping, and the store staff is amazingly helpful. It's hiding in the 2nd floor above the street-level shops, and when you walk in it just opens out in front of you like all your crafting dreams coming true. read more

I live in a different state than where The Loopy Ewe is located so have never visited in person, but have ordered from them twice. Both times the employees helped me choose colors---sending pictures of choices for me to see before ordering. They were very helpful and kind--and gave me great color advice. Nice fabric. Very high quality and high prices. Big complaint: the smallest cut they will cut is a fat quarter or 1/2 yard. Ridiculous for the consumer....especially at their very high prices. The two main employees..middle aged women (C and G) are much more interested in cutting & packaging fat quarters than helping any customers! Also they whisper together when you are there, making you feel like a nuisance. I will go to the Fig Leaf from now on. The owner there will take time to help you regardless...or get her staff to see that you have expert opinion/help. And you can buy as little as 1/8 yard. Far more reasonable! read more

I have never visited this store, which has recently relocated to Colorado. Someday I hope to visit. But I can only enjoy them online - their website, their blog, and their wonderful Camp Loopy that they hold each summer via www.ravelry.com. Their service is excellant - very willing to anser email questions in an extremely timely manner - my orders have always arrived very quickly, and even more so since CO is closer to CA! Their Camp Loopy is so fun - I cannot afford any of the online yarn clubs and so miss out on that cameraderie - so I indulge with Camp Loopy. I was happy to stumble across this quilting shop while I was shopping for yarn one day. The quilt shop in the back of the store has a wonderful collection of fabrics, patterns and quilting supplies. The staff is knowledgable, always willing to help although they often are busy cutting fabric for the shop and you need to wait until it is more convenient for them. I can always find something I like and would not be able to find in another local store. I especially like viewing the whole fabric line which is unusual in most other shops. They have a large selection of Kona Cottons, reasonably priced. I love shopping here, especially when I get a gift or surprise with my purchase. It makes it all the more fun. My 80+ year old neighbor took a class and the staff even offered to come to her car and transport her machine to class and back to the car when class was finished. I ordered one Fat Quarter (if your not familiar with a fat quarter, it is a piece of fabric 18" X 22") and was charged $5.95 for shipping! Who pays $9.34 for a FQ?? Apparently I did because they do not ship items that weigh less than 13oz First Class mail. I won't be back...ugg. read more

I have let 48 hours pass before writing this review because I was so upset. I have been a local client of Loopy Ewe for over 15 years. I am a knitter and quilter and like to support local shops. I have been happy shopping at Loopy Ewe up until two days ago. While shopping and putting about $250 worth of product into my basket, an employee took a bolt of fabric from me and said she needed it for an online order and that order takes precedence over me per store policy. Since there was about 2 yards left of the fabric, I was told I could not have any of the fabric. I feel if something was on their shelf to purchase and I have put it in my cart - it should be mine to purchase! They are not the only store in town and I will choose other stores over them in the future because their customer service is poor. I feel if they want online orders, I can shop online and there are tons of other online stores to choose from. Though I prefer to support local businesses, Loopy Ewe will no longer be one of them. read more

While the yarns are lovely and the store is beautiful the staff made me feel very uncomfortable about asking questions when I needed help. I am a beginner knitter and paid for lessons to do socks but when I made mistakes or needed guidance, I got attitude. They were helpful at first but then I got "You should know better than this" and "Figure it out yourself". If I could figure it out myself, I wouldn't have taken the time to get in my car and drive down for help! It was like my questions were bothering them and it made me very uncomfortable. I will never set foot in the store again even though it is closest to my home. I found wonderful free help at other yarn stores in Fort Collins where they welcome questions and give free guidance. read more
