I've been going here for a few years now and was wondering when the Loop started using the smaller margarita glasses for their "Grande" margarita? Been coming to this place for about five years every time I visit Colorado Springs. The food and service is very good. Their margaritas used to be about $7 for a regular sized drink (this was 2018). After visiting in June (2022) I found out their price increased to $12 dollars. I went back in November and it was $13. Seems like every time I go back the prices of the drinks goes up. I suggest they change the name of the drinks to 3x CPI House Margaritas. Don't think I'll be coming back. read more

We ate here due to the high ratings, but we were severely disappointed. If chips and salsa are a highlight for you but you're not a fan of very spicy stuff, then don't get your hopes up. All of their sauces are extremely spicy. Their substitute for mild salsa was warm enchilada sauce. I ordered the carnitas, and the meat didn't have any juice to it. Eating the carnita required yakking it down. The pico de Gallo didn't help as it didn't look even slightly fresh. Their margaritas are good though, and they offer 32oz flavored ones for ~$19, which can be shared by two. For two meals and a drink, it cost $60. The California Burrito was also extremely spicy. The service wasn't great. We had to get napkins and straws from the service desk ourselves, and the waitress didn't check on us often. For the quality of food, this restaurant is overpriced. Simply put, unless you like extremely spicy food and sub-average service, then stay away. read more

My wife and I were in the loop last Thursday. I ordered what I have ordered many times before, The Burrito from hell. I am 74 but still like spicy food and it has aways been good there until this time. Well this time I think the people in the kitchen decided to play mess with the old guy. This food was so hot I stopped after two bits. I asked the waiter if they had changed the recipe on this dish because it was way hotter than i had before. He said no but from the grin on his face I knew they had did something. Total waste of food and money. This is the last time i think we will be coming to this restaurant. I don't mind a joke but this was over the top. I know alot of people my age and the word will be put out. Fun and games but the joke is on you. You just got alot of free advertising. read more

THEY GAVE US FREE MARGARITAS. I mean do you need to know anything more? Alright, I guess you do. The restaurant looks unassuming and not particularly special. Regular old Mexican joint look. The service was top notch, though. Bussers, servers, and bartenders were busting tail working very hard yet keeping smiles on their faces. The food was fantastic. I have weird sensitivities and they were very accommodating and didn't make me feel weird, which is rare. I got the burrito panini plus my modifications and it was fanfreakingtastic. This used to be one of our favorite family places to go historically unfortunately with history the place has really gone downhill the owner has not done any upgrades and it feels dirty there were so many flies in there that it was disgusting to try to eat anything the food isn't as good as it used to be but the prices went up like the food was still delicious the Margaritas were so watered down that it tasted like weak lemonade I'm not sure how it was going to survive covid but if it does for goodness sakes clean that place up read more

I was really excited to try this place, and all I can say is that I was disappointed when I walked out of there. First off, we got a pitcher of frozen strawberry margaritas to share among the table. It didn't taste like there was any alcohol in it and the price (which was not listed on the menu) ended up being $58 for a pitcher that maybe had 5 margaritas in it. Additionally, all the food was just so-so. I ended up paying $30 for my one taco combo lunch platter and a horni grandma margarita, both of which were just really mediocre. read more

We went here for a drink, they have a varied selection of potent margaritas, and enjoyed their chips (which were under salted but thin enough) and the salsa (which had a nice burn). The service during our initial visit was fine, even good. Unfortunately we left an item (a bag of chocolate truffles purchased at a nearby shop) on the bar. When we realized this fact a couple hours later we called and the person answering us informed us that: "The busser probably threw them away if he found them". "OK, we were sitting at the middle part of the bar". "The bartender probably threw them away." "OK, well could you check with the bartender, just to make sure?" ...a minute passes. "The bartender found them and put them to the side. When no one came to claim them after a little while she 'threw them away'". I just left the Loop in Manitou Springs with an empty stomach due to my meal being burnt and cold. I had a conversation with the server and Manager Amanda. Half the meal burnt and the other colder than Amanda's heart. Amanda did say they cook different portions separately. I don't recommend this restaurant to anybody. read more

We stopped by here for a quick bite on a Sunday evening and got sat right away. Margaritas were delicious and my enchiladas were great. My husband got the carnitas and enjoyed that. I usually don't like refried beans, but these ones where tasty and seemed to be homemade and not tasting like they were plopped from a can, so that was a pleasant surprise. This is one of my favorite restaurants in town. I would of given it 5 stars instead of four, but it needs a little updating on the inside, and the kitchen needs to be closed off (the noise and bustle in the second room is a little too much). Other than that, the food here is excellent! The fajitas are phenomenal, and the margaritas are fantastic. The restaurant is in a touristy, but beautiful area in Manitou Springs, with the best views of the mountains, and the locals. Went hours out of our way to revisit The Loop's Fish Taco's which about 10 years ago were the best I ever had anywhere. Big disappointment! - they were so different, bland, and average this time I asked the server if I'd ordered the wrong item. The old ones had intense authentic corn taco flavor, real fillets fried to perfection, sweet potato chunks, cilantro, and delicious chipotle mayo. That's all gone - We did still like the overall atmosphere and my wife liked her veggie fajitas. But we'd never make a long detour again to get there. read more

We went back to the Loop for dinner on March 4th after several years. It was still awesome. Great food, I had the Loop burrito special and my husband got the Molcajete which was spectacular. Our server was wonderful (wish I could remember his name). He was personable and explained the menu items well and was friendly without being intrusive. Nice Mexican food restaurant in Manitou Springs. The location is at the west side of a roundabout and parking can be a problem, but the place is huge so waiting shouldn't be a problem. The staff is pretty good, especially the dude who brings chips. Guy was on point. I went with the carna asada and it was delicious. The best part of the place are the margaritas. You can get a normal or a grande. Totally worth the price. I'd go with on the rocks. Prices are too bad, I'd say standard for restaurants these days. It was super delicious and the margaritas were yummy too. The chips were warm as if they were just removed from the oven and their dips (salsa, white queso) had a kick to them which I enjoyed. Originally I ordered their chili rellano because I've never had them with chicken in them; however, they didn't have them in the kitchen. I ordered the shrimp and crab enchiladas which were delicious! The prices were good too! Also it's in Manitou so it's the perfect setting for an ice cold margarita while enjoying the incredible Manitou Springs! read more

After the way we were treated today I will never go back and I will never recommend them either! Not only was our waitress very rude and standoffish to my girlfriend and I, she was rude with the other guests around us. We had a few requests during our meal and 1 tiny thing wrong with our order (I asked for no rice xtra beans but had rice) Her tone and expressions when interacting with us were nasty, snide and nearly mocking/condescending. The last straw was when my girlfriend requested a "new" lid for her to go cup because the waitress insisted on smearing her finger across the mouth/drinking part. The waitress raised her voice and snidely informed us that she was certain "others" had done so before her. When we asked to speak to the manager after receiving some serious lip from her, she informed us in a very haughty tone that we could see the owner. When he came over he was obviously ready for some kind of fight, visibly trembling with anger, voice mildly shaky etc... My girlfriend confirmed that he was the owner and politely asked if he would have a seat to talk with her about our issues. He replied gruffly that he would stand...she began to explain why we wanted to speak with him and he CUT HER OFF, telling her that he knew all about it and that SHE the paying customer was the one being rude. Well with that we simply said OK and gathered our things. I went up to the register to pay and walked right straight into the OWNER and his waitstaff gathered in a circle talking loudly about not only my girlfriend and I, but OTHER customers as well. When he saw me he said "oh here she is" then promptly shut up, staff scattered. Our waitress rang me out while mumbling about how it must be a full moon or something....well missy, if EVERYONE around you is "being a problem" then you might consider the problem is YOU not them. read more

Great thin warm chips, excellent spicy and slightly smoky salsa. The service was fast and courteous. My wife's shrimp fajita was loaded with shrimp and her vegetables tasted soo good with no greasy after taste like you sometime s get. I picked at them, so I can say this with authority ) My enchiladas were great. I noticed no chimichangas were on the menu, except for appetizers. This was the busiest place in the area at 9 PM. Holy Margaritas Batman!!! Look, this place is in business based almost solely on their location and the fact that their margaritas are amazing! You could drink for hours and never have the same flavor drink! I've yet to have a bad one yet too... and if I still lived closer, you bet I'd be trying all of them eventually! FOOD: Food is not really all that bad, it's a decent meal and everything seems to be flavored nicely. Whether or not it is fresh or "authentic" (so many differences in opinion on that word) doesn't really matter much because you will get a great meal that will fill you up for a fair price. Some of the items that I've tried ~ ** Chips and Salsa: chips are kinda "eh" but the salsa is good, just salt up the chips and it does the trick! ** Spinach Quesadilla: this is one of my favorites, the spinach is fresh not frozen or canned, still kinda crisp making this quesadilla total worth eating again and again (which I have) ** Chicken and Spinach Enchiladas: a newer item which I have not tried, but my sister did and she absolutely loved it! She agreed on the fresh spinach and the green sauce on top was a bit cilantro-ish, a perfect match. ** Molcajete: great flavor and the best item to share so that you can focus on those margaritas. Perfect item to share. ** Tacos: I've had both the Al Pastor and the Shrimp, super tasty and satisfying. DRINKS: ** Yes, please. SERVICE: Alright, here's where it gets a bit tricky.... NO motivation in the service. In fact, I always remember it as pretty stinky service but last time I went I really paid attention as I knew I would be reviewing the place. 1 waitress was sitting in the empty part of the restaurant with a friend (who did not work there) and both talking about how work sucks. Our waitress stood propping herself up against the wall waiting for something to do for almost our entire hour having lunch. The guy serving our drinks, when we asked what is good, said he didn't eat there very much but he has heard that the molcajete are good. Wow. OVERALL: Yes, go. Try something off the menu, try a drink off the menu. Be your own judge.... for some reason so many of us keep going back time after time, so there's something to it. CHEERS!!!
