Arts and Ed help give me the basic fundamental tools to successes in the beauty industry! The educators are knowledgeable and care about each student to succeed! When taking my state boards in October I felt like the prep classes that Mary put together helped make me feel prepared and confident to pass! Which I did the first time! I am now a stylist at a high end salon and gave had the opportunity to trawl to LA for a the color summit with the top color stylists, be apart of photo shoots and I am putting on a fashion show or charity not to mention I am building my clientele and working with some talented hairstylists! And I truly believe I would t be where I am at today of it wasn't for art and Ed guidance and education! First off my biggest complaint is the manager Lisa,. She is extremely rude and will tell you off in…read morefront of everybody and she doesn't care who hears it. A student lied about me taking a photo of my hair and she said I was taking a picture of her which I was not. This was after I complained about the student smelling like smoke. Lisa allows the students to go out and smoke and then work on your hair with cigarette smoke on their fingers Lisa cited with the student who lied about me taking a picture of her and then I was the one that got kicked out Under Lisa's instruction, I had to go back a few times and have my hair redone after the students messed it up. This happened several times. Remember the students are experimenting, so make sure you have a good instructor. And as long as rude Lisa is there I will not be going back., She is the worst I've ever met at a salon. Beware.

This was a rough appointment. I called for an appointment and was delighted that there was an…read moreopening with Mary the next day. It started out well, I explained what I wanted and showed photos. She was kind, had lots to tell me about her life story, kids, in-laws and whatever else came to mind. The treatment for the hair consult as well as anything to do with touching my hair was where it got rough. She pulled my hair, whapped my in the head with brushes, the hair dryer and curling iron. The shampoo process was so painful with all the hair pulling and her whacking my head. My neck was sore for 2 days after the appointment from where she dug her fingers into me. She started cussing while telling me her stories. It was really kinda frightening and the first time I ever thought about ending a hair appointment early and walking out. When all was said and done, the bronde balyage we agreed on was mostly brown with red highlights. I wanted to cry. That is 2 hours and change and over $300 that I'll never get back.
