Great place! We were camping at Harris Lake and ended up here for dinner because it was a close option. They were quite busy but the manager / owner warmly welcomed us and other parties and made sure we had drinks and a great place to sit in the ADK chairs looking at the lake while we waited. Waitress was very attentive and helpful. Draft and canned beer selections were good, craft varieties. I had eggplant Parmesan which was delicious. All 5 of us were very happy with food options - crispy chicken, burger, fish fry. Kids ordered the bowl of bacon for appetizer and loved it. Dessert and after dinner drinks were good too. read more

This was my second time into the Long View Lodge restaurant. We went with another couple on a Saturday night and like my first time visiting the experience was top notch. We love the ambiance of this Adirondack restaurant and lodge. The attention to detail that is put into everything they do from greeting you when you come in, to the excellent preparation of the food and the high level of customer service make it evident that the owners have honed their craft in the hospitality industry. We started by sharing a plate of Blue Point Oysters Rockefeller. I've had oysters from Maine to San Francisco to Ireland, this was the best version of this dish I've had. The oysters were cooked to perfection. Oysters were still tender and creamy yet the toping was light and crunchy. For my main I went with the Beef and Bacon Burger. Fantastic! The burger consisted of two pressed burgers with bacon and cheese on a buttered bun. Equally as good were the crisp fries that were seasoned to perfection. So nice to go into a restaurant that treats you like a regular even though you aren't, knows how to prepare food the way it should be, and does it all in a warm and inviting Adirondack setting. Spent 1 night here as a kind of business trip. Quaint place, but there was no air conditioning in any rooms or in the restaurant. I understand this is not a five star place, but in this day and age, no air conditioning? There wasn't a mini frig or microwave in the room either. If I would've known this ahead of time, I would've booked somewhere else. On an almost 90 degree day, air conditioning should have been a must. read more

This beautiful lodge has rich history. The current owner has hired exemplary servers, staff and the menu is above average. The chefs know exactly how to prepare food from a simple chicken tender to a bountiful sea bowl of fresh shell fish. The presentation of the food is insane; food & wine magazine should be green with envy. In particular the scallops were the best I've ever been served. Brava! Prices are absolutely accurate; again excellence is what you pay for here. Go back in time where the bar with a sunset deck says good evening or the main dining room, an Adirondack original has original furnishings to finish off the evening. Don't be fooled with the street view. Pull in, park your car and go inside. The place is beautiful. The bar and restaurant are stunning. Looks can be deceiving here, and you'd be forgiven for thinking you're simply at another home on the lake when you arrive, but that may just be the warmth and hospitality you can feel from the street. This is a family run business where they truly treat you like one of their own. The restaurant could be straight out of New York City. The quality of the food and service level is simply amazing. There is no wrong choice on the menu with such delicious cuts of meat and well-made sides. There is no rush to order, rush through your food, or to pay the check and leave. This is a dining done right. The rooms are cozy and quaint- with hands down the best pillows I've ever slept on at a hotel. It is newly renovated yet retains the charm of a classic Adirondack lodge, and the views of the lake are second to none. Matt and Nate run a wonderful peaceful retreat right in the heart of the Adirondacks on RT. 30. We stayed in room 5 with a great view of the lake from front window. Rooms are cozy and with all the amenities you would want (big TV, new bed linens, mattress etc.) but the jewel is the property views and restaurant. Ben the chef brings a NYC vibe to the food-most restaurants in this area are diner inspired. Coffee service is fresh throughout the day-no breakfast is served but check out Chef Darrell's new diner in Blue Mountain for a classic meal. Bonus is the dock and beach for relaxing with cocktails-BTW their bar is so lively with locals and tourists mixing and telling fish tales. read more

This place is adorable!!! If you're looking for a place to stay, highly recommend. It's an hour away from the Adirondacks. The doors lock at 10, so if you need to stay, make sure you call. Do NOT stay here. Everything but the view was horrible. There was no one there to check us in at 3pm, so we had to come back an hour later. Since we prefer either a king or 2 queen beds, we had booked a "Deluxe Queen Room with Two Queen Beds" -- that turned out to be two tiny rooms with 1 queen bed each, connected by a bathroom. One of those rooms (the room that had a view of the lake) smelled of URINE. We complained, but the owner (?) just shrugged his shoulders and said he had no other rooms available. We stayed in the other room, with no decent view (one window higher up on wall that barely worked). The bed was uncomfortable and the rug was disgusting. The bathroom was gross -- moldy shower curtain, shower drain clogged. In the morning, we tried to complain to the owner (?), hoping to get a discount, but again, no one was available - front desk was vacant. read more

Staying at the Long View Lodge is a great idea when in town - it's right on the water with simple, clean accommodations, but they also have a great restaurant open for dinner (and lunch during high season) with excellent food and service. I booked one of two simple small cottages on the water to enjoy. It was rustic and basic but clean enough. The only downfall was the porch wasn't well sealed: holes / tears in most of the screens and the baseboards had large gaping holes for plenty of bugs to travel through. That was disappointing as that was the biggest reason to rent that particular unit: a cozy deck all to yourself! Hopefully they fix that up soon for future guests to enjoy more comfortably so they don't get eaten by bugs like I did. Under new ownership -they have already completed lots of renovations to the property. They also own several establishments in town: The Park and Hoss' store. Hopefully they remain in town for a good secure long term investment not only for themselves, but for the town and visitors that come through. Even if you don't stay there, the restaurant is a must for dinner! Very inexpensive yet good variety and delicious food! read more

We came for dinner looking for fine dining near Long Lake. We ordered the scallops, which were delicious and perfectly cooked. The tomato risotto beneath was not spectacular and a bit undercooked as were the side veg of green beans. I'm okay with al dente but these were just shy of it. One in our party who had a burger and fries said it was great. Another ordered the beef stroganoff which I got a taste of and found it impeccable. If you enjoy a rich mushroom sauce and fresh pasta this is for you. The beef was short ribs and there was enough for three servings. Service was excellent. Drink selection extensive. Excellent choice of wines as the owners I understand have returned to the area from Cali. Dining room only had three tables filled on a Thursday night. Only two tables in the room have a view, but the place has been nicely updated with respect for the age of the old lodgings. I arrive at four stars partially because of the dearth of fine dining in the area. I hope they make it in a tough area for restaurants with such a short season. I would definitely return for a good meal while in the area. read more

Staff took order, answered all our questions effectively. Returned in 20 minutes to pick up order. Ribeye steak and salmon dinners packaged in cardboard containers; food very satisfying! Sautéed mushroom... amazing, zucchini pasta... delicious, spicy meatballs... a tad over cooked but very flavorful, flatbread... absolutely wonderful and blueberry peach cobbler... the best (though microwaved). THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR ANYONE WITH A DISABILITY. They are not in compliance with the American disabilities act, and don't need to comply because they have not remodeled. There is nothing in the advertising that states this. It wasn't until we arrived that we found out. No designated parking, ramp for entrance, or an elevator for access to rooms, all rooms are on the second floor. As a person who has a problem with stairs, it was a HUGH problem. When we entered our room, we noticed that there wasn't map on the back of door for direction to emergency exit. There wasn't a phone in the room nor was there cell phone service. If there was a medical emergency, you need to go back to the front desk to get help. Problem, the front desk closes at 10pm. I get that they are keeping the way it was look, but the safety of your guest should come first. At the very least, let people know before they book. Kind of a bait and switch. I could go on, but you get the picture. I have stayed in a Motel 6, paid less and got more. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

My friend had her wedding here so I stayed a couple nights. I must say the way they run the place is comforting. It feels like a home away from home. The staff was very open and friendly and made sure I had a great time. After the meal, I went on the dance floor and saw some of the staff dancing and having a great time with us! In one of the song the staff played with the lights to add effort which was really cool. The rooms were also very clean and cozy. I will be back next summer :) read more

My son and I stayed for 3 nights and it was great! The management was very flexible, moving us to a suite with two bedrooms (one with futon sofa) and adjoining bathroom that fit us perfectly. Very welcoming. We really enjoyed the wine tasting event in the great hall. Great spot for visits to the fabulous Adirondack Museum -- very interactive, great for kids. Bakery and shopping right down the road. You will enjoy! read more
