Glad there was Wi-Fi, microwave, and fridge with freezer. Having recently come off surgery, I had requested a ground floor which was granted with ease. My stay was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was available at 8:00 am--simple but appetizing foods, drinks, buns, wrapped energy bars, coffee, etc. All good. A few days after I departed, I realized I left two chargers in the room. I got in touch with Jesse at the desk. He volunteered to pack and ship them using my on-file credit card for postage. Within a week or so, my chargers arrived. Needless to say, excellent customer service! If I return to the conference next year, I will likely book my stay at Shaheen's.

The rooms were suites- a large sitting area with couch, two chairs, TV, and a separate bedroom. One negative- the AC unit is in the sitting area so if you close the bedroom door at night the bedroom is not cooled. You must leave the door open when sleeping. Rooms were clean- but the disinfectant/cleaner they use has a strange smell that was a bit unpleasant. Recommend they find one that smells better. Bathroom was a typical motel bathroom- sink area, toilet, shower. Overall- good accommodations at a reasonable price (considering you ARE in a resort area).

We got such great recommendations on hikes, we ended up doing the Tupper Lake Triad; food, Amado's was delish, and the Raquette River brewery. None of which we had planned on. I constantly saw employees (non-invasively) cleaning and tidying; one time the elevator opened and one of the staff members in a black blazer was shining the interior elevator stainless steel features. Also impressive is how *every* team member from front desk, to spa, to pool technician, to house keeping, to managers, to wait staff, etc are all exceptional. Food: The View - restaurant attached to property was great for breakfast. Demir was also exceptional, and again seemed genuinely happy to be there. I appreciated how all members of the staff (maître d, owners, servers, busers) were equally present and eager to help. I agree there are some carpets and decor features that are dated and as someone who was here just for a wedding sure, not my favorite. But from my convos and observations the bulk of their clientele are repeat customers who adore the traditional and familiar decor. The really neat historic photos & memorabilia also clearly stamp that this IS the vibe they're going for. And nothing is "dated" that negatively impacts your experience; tv, windows, bathroom, kitchenettes, all updated. This place has so much history and families who value their traditions, I appreciate & respect that. And the lobby (here at Christmas time) is absolutely charming. One final note, I read reviews of this place before coming and the managers named 9000x to just tell them the feedback and they'll fix it. The room we stayed in beautiful with a wonderful view of the lake and mountains beyond. Of very special note: the Guest Services Manager- Ms Lia Collins- is a truly special person. She went beyond normal policy to help us out when unexpected circumstances caused us to cut our stay short. She treated us with caring and compassion- not just as customers.
