Came here a few weekends ago. This used to be the Thirsty Scholar and I don't think I've been back here since it was that bar years ago. It definitely looks different and less scholarly? No books on the wall and has been transformed into kind of a traditional dive sports bar but with a baby yoda statue glaring at me on the wall. I came here post happy hour but I think they have some deals ($1 off drafts that are already $8-9,$7 well, $9 wine) before 7pm on weekdays. I had just a beer or two but they had a pretty good selection. Was surprised blue point blueberry was there in bottle form. They have some exotic sounding cocktails for anywhere between $8-15. One of which I read involved peanut butter cups and I have to wonder if it's cash or trash. It's a chill no thrills sports bar. read more

Great spot in east village to grab drinks. We stopped by here after eating at Veselka and they had an EPL game playing. Plenty of drinks available to choose from. Came back again since it's a sports bar. As of May 2023, the beer shot combo deals are $12. still worth it if you're trying to go for a pregame or just get randomly drunk with friends. Came here on a Wednesday night to watch a basketball game and it wasn't that busy. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, and they play some music on the speakers. Cute neighborhood bad in East Village. My partner and I met up with some friends to watch the end of the Suns game. It was a nice solid looking bar area. We got a beer and I ordered a tequila old fashioned. The bartender ended up talking with me to make me something else regarding tequila. It ended up being really strong with no flavor. I think it was tequila and straight lemon juice. He was a nice Bartender so I felt bad but the cocktails are just not it. I think it's safe to say if I go back here, I'll stick with beer! The new owners and workers have done a great job sprucing up this space. The scholar will always hold a special place in my heart but at the very least, the friendly faces are back to greet me!! They have upgraded their TV's and sports package which is great to show football matches on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The transition to American football is pretty seamless (especially on this chilly Sunday afternoon). They also are offering a mixed selection of pies (savory ones -beef and onion, curried veg) and sausage rolls. Pressed sandwiches are coming soon which is pretty exciting. I cannot pass up a chance to eat pies/sausage rolls with my Sunday Guinness. Things have changed but the overall feel remains the same. I'm so glad that this bar space is back up and running. I am happily returning to my space at the bar. read more

The bar was pretty empty for a high profile MNF game, which I was surprised by, but hey - no complaints. $7 bud light on tap is pretty good for this area and TV screens were solid for watching, yet not too huge.
