I absolutely love the decor here at the loft! It's very trendy and I love the vibe! I followed my hairdresser Vanessa, who is one of the sweetest people I have met in California. She is incredibly talented and her prices are very reasonable. I may be one of the only women who hates going to the salon as I much rather be outside or doing something fun, but since coming to Vanessa I actually don't mind it. She works fast and conversates just enough to past the time. She is truly a gem and I'm so happy to have her as my hairdresser. This salon and the MANICURIST, Morgan, are WONDERFUL! I have been searching for someone that does a good job, for a fair price and... I found MORGAN! She's fun and does HARD GEL MANICURES. I wore acrylic for years and ruined my nail beds... so I tried the hard gel (very different from the GEL POLISH OVER ACRYLIC! I LOVE them. Morgan is VERY, very good; SO GOOD AT HER WORK; I call her "the artist!" AND, the pedicure spa is soo relaxing and makes you feel like royalty. I don't mind the drive (I'm in mid Ventura,) because I enjoy the salon, the staff and Morgan's talent! My nails always look beautiful. I was looking around Camarillo for a colorist. A previous job didn't end up too great. I found Cisco @ The Loft and via some pictures I saw here, I decided to give it a shot. Oh boy was I glad I did!! Cisco did an amazing job! He turned my brunette hair (with stripe-y highlights) into a beautiful balayage! I have hair that is very difficult to work with, but I always receive compliments when Mario's done with it. When he moved to The Loft, I was skeptical. As usual, I was wrong. The atmosphere is is great, as noted by other reviewers. It has the feel of... a loft. The clientele is diverse, and the stylists are always friendly. It has a laid-back atmosphere that makes clients comfortable, but the stylists are professional and take hair seriously. Mario has an artist's eye and styles hair that way. I've visited several other salons in the county, but I'd rather go here. I don't live in Camarillo, but I will travel the distance to have Mario cut my hair. read more

About four weeks ago I got the worst haircut of my life! I didn't know where to go to get my hair fixed, so I "Yelped" several hair salons in Camarillo. I read Sonya M. and Paul M.'s review regarding The Loft and Mario. I decided to make an appointment with Mario and it was the best thing I could have done! He is literally a magician! My hair looks so good that I don't recognize myself in the mirror. How he took the worst haircut and color that I have a ever seen and turned it into something so amazing is magical! I was not sure how anyone could fix my hair so I basically just listened to Mario's suggestions and I let him do what he thought was best. After just a few minutes in his chair I trusted him completely. He knows what he is doing! He is also very nice, easy to talk to and very professional! The salon is also really pretty and relaxing! I am so very, very happy! I have lived in Camarillo since 1974 so I have been to quite a few hair salons from Westlake to Ventura and I have finally found a hair stylist and a salon where I feel completely comfortable! The only "slightest" downfall might be the parking, especially if you have an appointment around lunch time when the market next store is serving lunch. Not to worry, plenty of parking right across the street at the Metrolink train station! Worth the walk across the street! read more

Love this salon. I've been seeing Annabel for almost 3 years and I couldn't be happier. She knows just how to cut my hair and she is such a sweet heart. She is great with color, gives me great advice on the ridiculous things I want to do to my hair (usually telling me 'no' in the nicest way!) and gives a great head massage with your shampoo. The salon has a great atmosphere; very urban and chic. The pedicure chairs are great, and the nail tech Jane is great as well. Highly recommended salon! read more

I went to this salon because I had seen a friend of mine who went to Star Espy, her hair looked nice and her work on Instagram did too. So I decided to go and try it out, my apt. Was at 6 pm I wasn't attended until 6:25 pm and she was still working on other clients and one came in after me and she finished her up before me. I didn't leave the salon until after 10 pm! In the pictures you can see that I didn't get the hair I wanted at all. I tried to make a apt. To go and tone the color I told her "I hate orange/yellow looking hair" and I came out with orange hair. She charged me $265 and told me I'd have to pay around there or more for another session!! When she messed up my hair and didn't do what I wanted. I don't even like wearing my hair down anymore I'm embarrassed of it. I tried to make a apt with her again and she stopped replying. Very unprofessional and doesn't own up to her mistakes she says it's "out of her control". I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. read more

Love this salon! Drove all the way up from West Hollywood for a whole new look and couldn't be happier. The stylist who did my cut/color was Cisco, and he is fabulous!! Very detailed and doesn't rush through the job, as I have often felt in the past with other stylists. If you're looking for a new stylist...I HIGHLY recommend him! This is the first time I've ever left a hair salon feeling like I 100% got exactly what I wanted. As far as the ambiance of the salon, it's very stylish and hip but in no way pretentious or anything. My daughter went to get her hair colored and cut by Cisco. She was in his chair for 10 hours from 1PM to 11:00 PM which of course was way longer than tolerable. Of course having chemicals on her hair that long really fried her hair. It was super damaged but he insisted it was not damaged. She has been purchasing several expensive conditioners and hair treatments to try and mediate the damage. I'm afraid nothing is helping. He did not tell her how much he was going to charge her prior to working on her and made her pay $325.00 after all that which she totally was not expecting. For a young person who is expecting $125 to $150, that was a lot of money. After going home and assessing the damage to her hair, she messaged him for a refund and he agreed to refund some of her money. It has been over a month and still no refund. I have agreed to help her learn the legal system to facilitate this injustice. Dont go to The Loft and definitely don't go to Cisco! read more

After reading the great reviews about Mario I decided to book an appointment for a cut and blow dry. I have only had a handful of hair dressers in my life, and moving also meant having to find a new one, so I had to take a chance. The salon sent automated texts to remind me of my appointment which I found thoughtful. The salon: it's very clean and has an east coast feeling with a brick interior. Receptionist is warm and friendly. I was offered a drink upon arrival, already loving this place. Mario was very thorough and took his time with cutting, which was great because I don't like when hair dressers rush services. Throughout the whole process we talked, he's great at active listening and intelligent, fun to talk to. One blow dry later and we're done - I got lots of compliments on my new look. I went to this salon for the first time and was very pleased with the outcome of my hair transformation. I was impressed at how knowledgeable and professional Star was. I could tell she loves what she does and she's gifted at it too. I explained what i wanted and my hair came out just the way I want it. She was very outgoing and friendly too. I explained how I wanted her to style my hair with a certain type of curl and she took the time to show me exactly how I can achieve that type of curl and style at home and she recommended products to make it easier for me.
