After waiting and looking for personal I phoned the landlord who told me that somebody would be there on two minutes. I waited 15 minutes luckely it was not raining. When I got into my room (double beded) I was shoked the second time. A room which would suit a very cheap hostel but not B&B. Two beds, a wardrobe block by a bad smelling switched off fridge, a TV on top (picture after adjusting the arial and than no sound :-( ). No hook for a towel no shelf for your toilete stuff. (but there's a carpet) Migrowave and waterheater with tea, coffee and sugar working fine. But just one electric connection with 4 positions of which two are occupied by TV. And that in a time where everybody has a mobilephone. Two other elec. connections where blocked by each a bed. One toilete which was or looked clean but no handwash or towel. The bath with toilete and shower looked clean. The breakfast was rather spartan. Three tables for guests one for the table-ware and a trolley with cerials, milk ,juice and other things but not comfortable. P.S. Wifi is free as service at the most accommodations. I had to pay £5 for the three nights and at one night it did not work.

It's a bit of a long walk but also a nice one if the weather is good for a traveler who wants to see the town and University en route to the hostel. I attended a great meeting there in April - the internet throughout the College Court had strong signals, and the meals were quite nice. We all felt a bit spoilt having table service arranged by the organizers for lunch and dinner - it gave us that much more time to talk with each other. I would gladly come back to the College Court. The only thing to keep in mind is that it's a bit of a trek to the better food in Leicester when one wants to eat out.

I stayed in what is one of my favorite room types when I travel...a small, cozy, solo room with a shared bath. The kind of room that has a bed (in this case a twin), a little table or desk, a chair and enough room for a suitcase and that's about it. The bathroom was shared by three similar rooms (including mine) and cleanliness and easy access was never a problem (in a pinch, there are other bathrooms available throughout the hostel.) There are also dorms and larger rooms available, but my room hit my sweet spot between comfort and budget for a short stay. The shared kitchen (closed overnight) was also sizable and well-equipped and the lounge area beyond it was cozy with the rain pitter pattering on the roof. Solid WiFi guaranteed downstairs; upstairs connectivity varies.

I'll attempt to explain why…read more After a night out drinking, we were a bit too 'happy' to be able to drive back home, so decided to stay here for the night. After a certain time, you can pay via credit card and get a room key without desk staff being on the premises, so we got a few rooms between six of us. Bunk beds.but that was ok, we just wanted a bed for the night. At around £25 per room per night, I suppose you get what you pay for. It didnt take long though, for us to realise that most of the 'ladies of the night' of Peterborough were also using the hotel to get what they paid for, which made for an entertaining night in itself. It served a purpose, we were up and out at around 8 the next morning, and it was preferable to sleeping in a ditch and cheaper than getting a taxi to take us the 30 miles across the fens and then catching the train back to reclaim the cars, but its not the kind of place to consider staying at if you're even halfway sober. Apparently it was recently taken over by Metro Hotels, so perhaps its now a little classier. Do your research ahead of time if you're considering it.

The bar was simple and cheap. Their WiFi only works in the dining room. The staff was so helpful, I did laundry a couple of times and when it stopped working, they gladly fixed it and gave me my money back. I will gladly go back to this YHA.

The hostel must protect its children, I am told. Wait, what? You house children here, alongside traveling strangers? Explain. Do you take me for a pedophile? Moving on, I ask why I may see inside if I pay, but not if I don't pay. Am I less a threat to children than I was prior to handing you £18? I am told, smugly, that it would be quite different because I would then be a "guest." Perhaps the official account would like to explain to us how any of that makes sense.
