During the haircut, I explained that I wanted my long layers to start higher. Midway through the service, the stylist stepped away to attend to another client. When she returned, she quickly finished the cut without checking back in on the layering or confirming how I wanted it styled. There was no offer to curl or style my hair at the end of the appointment. I left feeling disappointed because I expected to walk out with a finished look, not have to go home and do the styling myself. Overall, the experience felt rushed and inattentive, which did not meet my expectations for a professional appointment.

I stayed within my budget and left gorgeous, although I am concerned that my cut is a little more high-maintenance that I'm used to and that my flunky fingers won't be able to recreate the salon awesomeness at home. The salon is small and not fussily-decorated, and the music wasn't obnoxiously loud. If I could nudge my rating down 1/2 a star I would, but only for two minor things - I was never offered coffee or a drink (had to ask, and this was after being there an hour), and the chairs are too low at the stations to see into the mirrors that are hanging over too-high bureaus.
