I had an appointment scheduled for 5:00 pm with Madelynn, but my service did not begin until about 15 minutes later. The hair wash felt rushed and my hair did not feel thoroughly cleaned. During the haircut, I explained that I wanted my long layers to start higher. Midway through the service, the stylist stepped away to attend to another client. When she returned, she quickly finished the cut without checking back in on the layering or confirming how I wanted it styled. There was no offer to curl or style my hair at the end of the appointment. I left feeling disappointed because I expected to walk out with a finished look, not have to go home and do the styling myself. Overall, the experience felt rushed and inattentive, which did not meet my expectations for a professional appointment. read more

As soon as I walked in, I knew I was in the right place! The front desk staff are incredibly welcoming and really pay attention to detail. It was my first time at the Birch Salon and my expectations were exceeded. I scheduled a Signature Haircut with Kyli, a hair apprentice. She really listened to my hair goals and had great knowledge on the products she was using in my hair. I asked for her to trim the dead ends off and requested long layers with face framing pieces. The results were better than I could have imagined! I could tell that the whole salon staff had a close-knit family dynamic. Recently moved to Winder after living in another state for 35 years. Looking for new doctors, dentist, eye doctor, you know all that stuff. But the most important to me is my haircut, I had the same stylist for 30+ years and she was so good and knew what I wanted my hair to look like. I tried 3 different places and just didn't connect. I looked on the internet one Sunday afternoon and reached out to Birch, I was surprised that I heard back and made an appointment to see Nicole in a couple of days. So off I go, I was greeted by a couple of nice young ladies, the place is very nicely decorated, and comfortable. Nicole was fantastic and I'm thrilled with my haircut. If you're looking for a friendly, inviting setting to get pampered while having your hair expertly cut and styled, Birch Salon Co. is the place to do it! My appointment on a Saturday afternoon. The salon was SO beautiful! I loved walking into their foyer and seeing all of the tchotchkes they had to peruse through. They had a sampling of hair and makeup supplies and clothing and accessories to look at while you wait. The front desk staff was also super friendly and helpful. Anna did a fantastic job! I had not had a proper haircut in too many years (after a botched "curly cut" I had done back in Atlanta) and she was patient, informational, and kind throughout the entire appointment. I have 2C/3A hair (low porosity and medium/coarse texture) and had a curly cut/style done; the process included a dry cut, wash, treatment, and style, and I felt SO relaxed and pampered. i do not recommend coming here.. had high expectations coming here with a 'level 4' hairdresser. I just wanted a balayage and cut. only the underlayer of my hair got high lighted(over paid for quality). I dont even think the hairdresser liked it because she took a before pic and did not want to take an after photo. read more

I am so unhappy with the updo I walked out with today. Granted I made a last minute decision to get my hair done for a wedding we're attending. Molly is who made this frizzy mess on my head. I just wanted a low messy bun with a side sweep and she didn't even straighten my hair before starting. She then says she only had 30 minutes for me and I would of rather done my own hair. I'm stuck with this mess because she used a ton of hair spray. Salons know when they have an incompetent hairdresser. I was in the industry for twenty years. They knew I was going to a wedding and let her make this mess anyway. I would never go back. read more

I moved out here from Atlanta and I'm use to going to high end salons that cost out the back end, but Birch Salon seriously puts them to shame and doesn't take your whole paycheck! Don't go with kat very rude and unprofessional . she will waive her hands in ur face to get her point across. she has no sympathy when a customer is unhappy. she will tell you to be quiet so she can talk . I had a haircut 2 1/2 months ago and just decided to remark that the stylist cut 5 inches more than I wanted , am frustrated that she did t listen to what I wanted and that it is still really short for my liking. She apologized for going too short (that's an understatement) and I am still waiting for my hair to return to the length I had ! Reply: Thanks for the reply... I appreciate you responding , the free haircut was at the least what you would expect for something I didn't expect ! Older lady at the front was demeaning and rude to my daughter when she called her out on not receiving her call. My daughter called and stated on the machine that she wanted to see if she could reschedule her appointment for later and if not was going to keep her appointment. My daughter never got a call so we went to the appointment and was on time .They said they no longer had time because we rescheduled and they tried to call. LIES!! I had made an appointment for all over color and highlights for this morning at 9:45am with Abby. She was going to be new to me since only second time coming in. Her assistant took me to her chair about 7 mins til 10am and Abby came over to talk to me about what I wanted. I advised her of everythin. Back to natural color is what we decided on and partial highlight. I told her 3x ok let's do it. she kept saying I was being hestitate and I said " No" let's go ahead and do it. But she made sure to tell me again she had another appointment in 25 mins. How do u schedule a person for a color, highlights and cut then prior. she said let me get u some pricing first. came back said it would be $241. I said really and again she said you seem hesitant about price. I said I already knew she was a level 4 and pricing was fine. Don't make assumptions that I can't afford it. I made an appointment with highest level 5 stylist because I had hair extensions that are a perfect match to my hair and I needed a root touch up. after I sat for almost 5 hours 2 applications and over $200 later, my hair is darker than I started with and the color does not match my extensions at all so now I cannot even wear them which is the sole purpose of coming there to begin with. I am extremly disappointed that I paid for their top level stylist and the money I paid and she doesn't know how to color match better than this. I came in with golden blonde and caramel extensions and left with champagne blonde and light brown highlights. I have had several people even say they can now see I wear extensions and before no one could tell the difference. I will not go back to this salon again if this is the best quality they have. The only positive is the stylist was very nice and the salon is beautiful but I don't feel that I got what I paid for at all read more

It's always scary to try new hair salons, but this one was a definite win. Kathryn listened to what I wanted and was very kind and professional. They have a great atmosphere and it seems that the stylists have a wonderful working relationship with one another. My hair is not easy to work with (frizzy, grey), but she worked a miracle and did a beautiful color and style for a reasonable price. I definitely recommend Birch! read more
