The Local Gallery is a contemporary artspace that is, according to their website, "inspired by the Game." Which game, you ask? Well, none other than the fantastic game of basketball, of course! The Local Gallery (TLG) showcases art / artwork / masterpieces centered around hoop culture.
TLG has two locations - one in NY & one in Toronto. This specific TLG is in the Long Island City section of Queens. It is accessible via public transportation, including the G,7, & E trains. TLG NYC is close to Focal Point Beer & to Sobremesa Cocina Mexicana, which is a Mexican Restaurant (there are benches where customers can sit to enjoy their drinks & food outside), & Otis & Finn Barbershop (they host "Combover Comedy" Shows in the actual barbershop). One can walk up the small ramp area & The Local Gallery is there.
The Local Gallery NYC is a minimalist space in which the art displayed provides the colorful aesthetic. The following artists & their respective artworks are displayed as part of the current exhibit: Chris Solcz's "Garden Jam", Flooko's "Air Astro", Peppy Colours' "A Little Bit of Majic" & " Dunkin", Smolik's " 62 In The Garden", Raphael Crump's "High Fives", Michael Johnson's "Mamba Menrality", Abriella Sammy's " Silver Lining" & "Conversations w/ The Sky", Chris Clarke's " From FLA to NYC, Mitchell Rearson's "Bounce", etc. There are other artists that have contemporary art at TLG NYC. All of the pieces are so cool.
