Art in the Bronx!!!
WallWorks is an art gallery in the South "Boogie Down" Bronx!
It goes without saying that The Bronx is often referred to as an outer borough and more often then not... treated like orphan to the city.
While many forget about the Bronx, those that reside here know exactly what The Bronx has to offer besides Yankees, the Bronx Zoo, and Botanical Gardens. Just like Hip Hop, art has a strong history in The Bronx so its no surprise that a Contemporary Art Gallery has a home here.
WallWorks host exhibits showing-casing the work of both exciting new and established artist with that uptown style. Also providing a space an opportunity for artist to host smaller short term exhibits for private events.
I had the opportunity to attend the showing of two lovelies ladies Gavy Castro and Gloria Zapata, showing their creativity through their artistry. A mix-media show that highlighted both of their perspectives and art styles. (Please check out some of their work in my photos)
Just A Note:
But if it wasn't for the Bronx
This rap shit probably never would be going on
So tell me where you from?
Uptown baby, uptown baby
We gets down baby
