Want a great latte..? Check out The Local ~ friendly, attentive service. Check out the care and craft put into the latte art ~ chill vibe, comfortable seating options. Impressed with the latte art, Great job!

The biscuits and gravy and sausage patties were good. The potatoes were not good, unpleasant texture. They sell generic orange juice so I skipped that. They buy Infusco coffee and can make decaf lattes. It is a cute place and the staff was friendly. I may try something else here.

A couple of friends and myself stopped here after another restaurant in the area fell short- so glad we did! We had called ahead to ask if there was a table available and when we said we'd be right there, to our surprise, they had reserved the table for us. So nice! The two servers we met were both super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was pretty busy at 1 pm on a Saturday and seemed pretty clean, which is always nice. Quite the age range of customers, too. Two of us ordered the Southwest salad, which was fresh and hit the spot. I do wish the salad leaves would have been smaller, I had to cut them! I also wished the dressing had more flavor- or maybe just more dressing? Our friend ordered the Avocado Chicken sandwich on Sourdough, which she said tasted fresh as well. I will say, it did take quite a long time to receive our order- I was surprised considering we ordered pretty basic items. We ordered coffees to go, Coconut cold brew and a basic coffee with milk & sugar free caramel. They were "okay"- I wouldn't order the coconut cold brew again, myself. Random side-note, their forks were HUGE. Pitchfork is more like it! We are about an hour's drive away, but we would definitely come back to try different items if we're ever back in the area

After a nice ride on the Michigan wine country backroads making your way back to the Red Arrow Highway through Stevensville is the small town of Baroda. It is a one street town. In it is The Local. It is in a red brick two story building that looks like it was a bank at one time. The interior is Pottery Barn-esque. The servers are nice. The menu is small but has enough familiar friend you should find something. I had the All Scrambled Up which is scrambled over sausage gravy and roasted potatoes. It was good. The coffee was weak. The lunch menu looked good. After you are done, drive into Stevensville for a beer at Watermark Brewing.

After buying a house in the area recently, my hubs and I have been on the search for great breakfast spots. The Local has been such a great find! Great food, friendly staff, and an easygoing atmosphere. I've had the skillets twice and loved them each time. They have a great selection of nitro coffees flavors and smoothies. We will keep coming back to this spot over and over again.

I'm a local here. No pun intended. I was hoping to love this place because it's so close to my house. I don't love it. It's just okay. We got take out today. I had the Baroda Bulldog with scrambled eggs and bacon and multigrain toast. It was underwhelming. I know you can be overwhelmed and underwhelmed but can you ever just be whelmed? I think you can in Europe. Okay, okay back to my review. My husband had The Local all scrambled up. Let's start with the good. The food is hot and fresh. The portions are big. The eggs were cooked well. The potatoes were crispy. It's not a bad place to go for a mediocre breakfast. And the not so good...I asked for extra crispy bacon. It wasn't even crispy bacon, never mind the extra. I couldn't eat it. The potatoes, while cooked well, were bland and so were the eggs. For future reference cooks in this kitchen, A little salt goes a long way! My husband didn't care for his food either. While edible, there are much better places around here to get some breakfast. Probably won't go back but I'm glad we tried it.

This breakfast/lunch place has been on my bucket list for quite some time and today we finally made it in. It did not disappoint. First and foremost it's ADA accessible which is a win for my daughter who's in a wheelchair. The staff is super friendly, and nice spacing between the tables. The food was delish and we will be back. Check out the photos of our breakfast. The the weather was rainy today they do offer outside seating as well. Love supporting independents. Only 10 minutes from our house in downtown Baroda.

Awesome experience! We snagged a table in the back corner…read moreright before the dinner rush and couldn't have been happier with the quality of food and service. It was our first time dining at Silver Harbor and won't be our last. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a small craft brewery. Fun, lively, and modern-- a place where people of all ages can enjoy a great drink and some tasty grindage (yes, I just quoted Pauly Shore)... The unique beer selection hits all the marks and my seltzer was exactly what I needed after a long day in the sun getting burnt at the beach! We started our meal with the Bacon Apple Fig Flatbread and it was outstanding. I'd order it again and again. The Hubbs got the Michigan Olive Burger and practically licked his plate afterward! My Asian Crunch Salad was top-notch--I wish every restaurant had a salad like this!! It was fresh and delicious and paired perfectly with the flatbread. If you're traveling along Michigan's beautiful Sunset Coast, make sure to stop into Silver Harbor! Leave the beach early and get there before everyone else does! You won't be sorry! :)

My husband had the fried pork chop sandwich with fries, and it was absolutely delicious. I went with the fish and chips and they were exceptional; crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Overall, a great spot for good food, great beer, and a fun, welcoming vibe.

However, this was overshadowed by the low quality of the food. I got the Caravan Chicken waffle. The chicken was extremely basic, just cheap tenders you could buy frozen at your local grocery. The waffle was a sponge, super soft and thin. Not the delicious waffle you envision when you crave one. The syrup is cheap maple flavored high fructose corn syrup. Overall I would not recommend wasting your money on this location when there is so many other amazing places around.

The food and coffee were great! I got the caravan chicken and waffles. The waffle had a nice toast but still soft. The chicken was really good too! And the syrup wasn't too sweet, so it was perfect! As a huge coffee fan, the cold brew is really good! Great taste, strong and bold, and even without sugars or anything, it's great! I definitely suggest visiting!

I took my cousin to Chicago Waffles in Oak Park for breakfast around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, arriving…read morewithout a reservation. The place was packed, with several large parties waiting to be seated. After a few minutes the hostess appeared, and once I confirmed everyone ahead of us had already checked in, she told us the wait would be short since it was just the two of us. Despite every table being full, we were seated within five minutes. The waitstaff immediately brought water to the table, and Alexis--our server--came by shortly after to take our drink order: a latte and a freshly brewed iced tea. Both arrived promptly. After several minutes to review the menu, we ordered the Paco Taco, a side of Maple-Bacon Sausage, and a half order of Bacon & Chicken (aka Chicken & Waffles). I appreciated being able to choose my syrup and went with the spicy option. Our food arrived in about 15 minutes, served at the right temperature and looking great. The pancakes (for the Paco Taco) were fluffy, and the chicken & waffles paired perfectly with the spicy syrup. Unfortunately, the side order was missing. After waiting a bit, I reminded Alexis, who seemed a little flustered but attentive. It took another 10 minutes for the side to arrive, and by then we were nearly finished with our meal. A small hiccup, but the overall quality of the food still stood out--flavorful and well-prepared. Alexis also refilled my iced tea without me having to ask, which I appreciated. Even with the restaurant at full capacity, we were able to talk comfortably, likely because we were seated toward the back. The space is charming, nicely decorated, and offers a wide range of food and drink options. Some items are on the pricier side, and no one mentioned the 3% credit card surcharge, so that's something to be aware of. Chicago Waffles delivers delicious food, friendly service, and a lively atmosphere. While our visit included a minor delay with a missing side order, the overall experience was positive--great flavors, generous portions, and a well-run restaurant even during a busy rush. Just remember to bring cash if you want to avoid the 3% credit card surcharge!

Walked inside at around 10am on a Sunday and was met with bright lights, the strong smell of…read morebathroom cleaner, and the loud roar of everyone attempting to talk over generic club music. The saving grace of this place was the friendly wait staff. Was seated quickly, but had to wait a while to have our order taken. Was immediately put off by the cost-- $15 for two eggs, potatoes, and toast. Wound up deciding on two coffees , "the Liege Pearl" waffle and a skillet. The coffee was weak and terrible. None of the flavors were balanced for the dishes. Way too much cheese and barely any mushroom or potato in the skillet while the waffle has tons of chocolate dumped on it, drowning out any other flavors. The kicker was that we were given 3/4 of a full waffle. When we asked, we were told the dish normally is only HALF a waffle and that we were lucky to get an additional quarter. For $17. Even if the menu were half the cost, I would never come back here. Edit: Dropped to one star on account of the unhinged response from the owner. To clarify: as soon as you walk into the restaurant, it smells like urinal cakes. I'm happy for the owner that they are attracted to that smell, but I'm positive the majority of people don't want the smell of urinal cakes to accompany their breakfast. Also to anyone else reading this, there are four sit down restaurants within two blocks with better breakfast food at better prices that don't smell like a toilet, let alone 3 other breakfast restaurants that opened in Oak Park in the last couple of years. Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else.
