Oh Lisbon! How we love you...and The Lisboans! We are already planning a return trip to this lovely country and can't imagine considering any other place to stay other than The Lisboans! From the moment we arrived to this magical location, we knew we were in for an amazing 4 days. We were 2 couples - and shared the large 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment on the 4th floor (i think). There is an elevator to the main part of the floor - but then a short few steps are required to get to some of the rooms....not a problem for us.
The apartment itself was just perfect for our stay. The spacious living room offered us a place to sit and chat and renew a friendship that spans nearly 40 years! We hadn't seen each other for over 20 years, so being able to sit together and visit was perfect.
The hotel offers so much - such as a washer/dryer. We'd already been traveling for almost a week when we arrived in Lisbon, so having access to wash our clothes was a real bonus.
The bedrooms within the unit were a great size - and the beds were quite comfy. One of the rooms had a dresser and one did not - but both had roomy built in wardrobes with hangers. The beds and the bedding were SO comfortable....and there is an air conditioner in each bedroom and in the living room.
The bathroom was fine - nothing special - and no tub, which didn't matter to us at all. The shower was roomy and had great water pressure.
One of the best parts of staying at this lovely location is the beautiful breakfast they deliver to your door every morning! It includes fresh squeezed orange juice, a variety of breads and pastries, and then the fridge in the small kitchenette is stocked with meats and cheeses. There's also a Nespresso coffee machine in your room - along with an electric tea kettle. It was such a fantastic way to start out our days!
Location was so convenient to access the entire city of Lisbon. We walked and walked and walked....and somehow it seems mostly uphill!! Be prepared to walk a lot! From The Lisboans you can really access most of the great attractions within a 20 minute walk.
One key hint we'd like to offer up is to eat at one of the food offerings connected to The Lisboans. They are both called Prada I believe - though one is deli style turns wine bar at night - and the other is a full sit down restaurant. Sadly, we only sampled the wine bar on our last night....and I say sadly because this was so delicious, we regret not trying the main restaurant! Please be sure to grab a bite of the incredible tapas style menu offered.
We needed some help booking a van at 3 am....yes 3am.....for a 530 am flight. The lovely folks who work in the office were so helpful and basically booked it for us. The transport was very reasonable! They were also very helpful with any questions we had and full of suggestions.
We really cannot wait to spend more time in Lisbon - hopefully for a month - and will def return to The Lisboans! read more
