My grandfather told me the lips were already painted as far back as 1919 when he was a little kid. Whoever started it is no longer with us.

I tried two different slices of pizza, and they were absolutely delicious and incredibly flavorful. Even the crust is so good! My daughters ordered the chicken fettuccine, and it did not disappoint at all. They are so generous with the sauce, which is a massive plus because you never have to worry about dry noodles. The service was excellent, and the overall experience was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back!

I love the concept--pizza on one side, incredible sandwiches and gelato on the other, all connected to a fully stocked Italian market. It's the kind of place where you can grab lunch, dessert, and authentic Italian groceries all in one stop. The staff was welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked in, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. The Meatball Sandwich is an absolute must-try packed with flavor and perfectly made. The Signature Sandwich was another standout because it's something different from your typical Italian sandwich. It had its own unique flavor that really sets it apart. I didn't get a chance to try the pizza this visit, but if the sandwiches are any indication, I already know I'll be back for it soon. The only small downside is that the parking lot is a little tight, especially during busy hours, but it's well worth the minor inconvenience. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations. Great food, friendly service, fair prices, and a unique setup that makes you want to keep coming back. This has definitely earned a spot on my regular rotation. Highly recommend!

The lighting was on the bright side but the atmos was old school for sure. I had friends that had never been so the great menu hunt was on. They settled on chicken cacciatore and pasta. They said it was yummy and ticked all the boxes. I had a late lunch so I had The Alps / sausage, meatball, peppers in a red sauce then covered with cheese and baked. So good. Our server was very friendly and kept our ice teas filled which is always a good thing. It photos as my friends and I were having to good a time talking but Lisos is a good solid place.

A gastro-adventure straight to the snack aisle of your nearest convenience store. Let's start with the hors d'oeuvres, or as Lido's likes to call it, "a chef's journey into the heart of the '90s lunchroom." Picture this: a plastic ramekin filled with precisely seven Cheez-It crackers (yes, I counted) and a square of Lunchables cheddar. No garnish. No flair. Just the unapologetic crunch of nostalgia and the slightly sweaty texture of processed cheese. Très magnifique! The waiter presented it with such flourish you'd think he'd just handed us the Mona Lisa of appetizers. "Our finest pairing," he said, without a hint of irony. I half expected him to pull out a Capri Sun and pierce it for us tableside. I politely asked if this was a joke. His response? "That's how we keep it casual here." Casual? Sir, this isn't casual; this is culinary gaslighting. The rest of the meal wasn't even worth salvaging. The breadsticks were cold, the pasta was overcooked and drowning in bland marinara, and the tiramisu was a soggy mess that tasted like someone spilled coffee on a sponge. But honestly, after the snack attack that was the starter, everything else just felt like a backdrop. The only redeeming part of the evening was the exit, where I got to share a knowing, pity-filled glance with another couple clearly wondering if they'd accidentally wandered into the wrong restaurant. In summary, if you're looking for a unique dining experience that will have you laughing, crying, and questioning your life choices all at once, Lido's is your spot. Just be sure to BYOP--Bring Your Own Pepperoni. Apparently, that costs extra. Lido's isn't Italian--it's an insult.

I had been looking at the pictures on Yelp all day, just getting myself excited. It did not disappoint. We arrived with a 6pm reservation on a Monday. When the host mentioned only outdoor tables were available, I asked if we could wait for something inside (the outdoor space is enclosed, but you can still see the parking lot, and it was my birthday. I wanted cozy). A second host appeared shortly after, took us to a table inside without hesitation, and turned out to be our server, Brad. So already, off to a good start. And cozy is the right word. The interior is adorable, exactly the kind of neighborhood Italian spot you hope exists but rarely find. The kind you want to be a regular at. Our server introduced himself as Brad. "I'm a Bradley, not a Bradford," he said. "Ah, as in Bradley Cooper," I replied. We were off to a good start. When I mentioned how old I was turning, he said he didn't believe me and asked to see my ID. I happily obliged. He then found out I wasn't planning to order wine because my stomach was being fussy, and before I could say another word, he said he'd bring me a taste of his favorite white. The Gavi di Gavi was delicate and lovely. Delicate stomach be damned. We started with the Burrata e Prosciutto (burrata, prosciutto, shaved parm, and honey). The camera eats first, of course. Simple, and absolutely divine. For my entree, I had been set on the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe all day, but Brad's description of the seafood squid ink pasta changed my mind on the spot. No regrets whatsoever. My son had the Fettuccine Tartufo with salsiccia, and my nephew went with the Carbonara. Everyone was happy. And then there was the tiramisu, made tableside, three spoons. Enough said. The entire experience was exactly what a birthday dinner should be, the kind that reminds you why you go out in the first place. Going out to eat is expensive now, and you feel every dollar. When it's worth it, it really stands out, and Aromi was worth it. If every restaurant had a server like Brad, who was attentive as if he had a personal stake in your evening, more people would keep coming back. I'll definitely be one of them.

We were warmly greeted by the front staff and seated almost immediately. Mar was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She was super friendly, laid-back, and attentive throughout our entire dining experience. Whether it was taking our drink orders, keeping the breadsticks and salad coming, answering menu questions, or checking in to see if we needed refills, she made sure we were well taken care of every step of the way. Now let's talk about the food! The breadsticks were hot, fresh, and even better dipped in a side of Alfredo sauce. Trust me--order the Alfredo sauce on the side. You can thank me later! For appetizers, we ordered the Spinach-Artichoke Dip with pita crackers, and it was absolutely sensational. For our entrees, we both went with the Chicken Alfredo--one topped with crispy chicken and the other with grilled chicken. Both dishes were cooked fresh to order, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. By the time our entrees arrived, we were already stuffed from the endless salad and breadsticks, so a to-go box was definitely necessary! I honestly haven't been to Olive Garden in years, so this felt like a brand-new experience all over again. The excellent food, outstanding service, and welcoming atmosphere reminded me why this place remains so popular. It's no surprise this location stays packed on the weekends. If you're ever in the Grossmont area, give this Olive Garden a try. There's plenty of parking, a fantastic staff, and great service. I'll definitely be back. As always, your favorite Yelper did the research for you--you can thank me later!
