Float RI - Would definitely come back!

What a genuinely life changing experience. I came here on my wife's recommendation for a massage…read moreand opted for a float session instead on a whim. The sensory deprivation aspect of it had such a deep effect on me compared to what I was expecting. Once I settled in for a few minutes I had a pretty profound hour after that. Everyone's time is likely different, but it really did a lot for me mentally. I expected a neat little novelty that I did once and never again, cannot wait to get back!

Woke up excited! I had been looking forward to this experience for a few weeks…read more I walked in, and the place was beautiful and clean. I started with my 20-minute BioCharger session (a free birthday session). They got me comfortable, but it was weird that the door was left open. I'm getting all relaxed, and all of a sudden, I hear voices. Then I realize people are getting a tour through my space. In my privacy, on my dime. (Are you serious?) My excited, calm experience turned into caution and anxiety. When the owner's husband came in, I asked what was going on with the tour and my privacy. The response? "Sorry about that." Next was Vibroacoustic Therapy (VAT), which I was told was an hour. I was trying very hard to focus and enjoy it, but my vibe was already ruined. I'd say about 30 minutes into it, I just couldn't do it anymore. I was very uncomfortable and having anxiety, not knowing if more people were going to come through. I was trying to talk myself into staying because now I had money I spent on the line. I finally hopped up and was just done. Scott came in, and I said, "I can't do it." He asked, "Can't do it?" Yes. My vibe was all thrown off. I simply walked out. No other questions were asked. Here's the thing: when you're paying for a wellness experience, you're paying for more than a service. You're paying for a chance to relax, feel comfortable, and have some peace and privacy. Imagine trying to relax while strangers are being given a tour through your space. How are you supposed to feel comfortable after that? In the middle of upselling services, how do you lose sight of the customer's experience? This was not appreciated, and it's especially frustrating knowing I still have a balance with them. A beautiful space means very little if the experience leaves you feeling uncomfortable, anxious, and disrespected. I'll be sharing my experience with my social media followers because people deserve to know what happened and make their own informed decisions.

One of my New Year's Resolutions for 2020 was to take stock of my professional and personal…read moreobligations and figure out how to develop a better sense of balance in my life. By sheer serendipity, I was introduced to Integrative Wellness when I attended a Central RI Chamber of Commerce event. I (skeptically) booked a private session with Alyssa, not knowing what to expect - and truthfully not expecting much out of the experience. I've learned that when someone proves me wrong, it is generally because my disposition could do with a good, healthy nudge. Not only was Alyssa able to clearly intellectualize the art of Reiki and assuage my skepticism, the experience was deeply profound on a very personal level. She was able to cut through the psychological clutter and get to the source of what I need to let go of - and the things I need to embrace. The experience was deeply inspiring, grounding, empowering, and motivating. I encourage anyone who is feeling a bit psychologically muddled down to book a session with Alyssa - and experience a similar awakening of spirit.

Angela is an outstanding instructor who consistently goes above and beyond for her students. She walks around the room, provides individual feedback, and makes sure everyone is performing movements safely and correctly. It's clear that she genuinely cares about everyone in the class and wants them to succeed. What sets Angela apart is her energy, attentiveness, and motivation. She is loud and clear when giving instructions, so everyone can easily hear and follow along throughout the workout. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and she creates a positive, encouraging environment that makes the class both fun and challenging. I've taken the class with another instructor before, and the difference was noticeable. Angela stays focused on coaching and supporting participants rather than getting her own workout in. She makes everyone feel welcome, supported, and confident, regardless of their fitness level. The bungee fitness classes are an amazing workout, and Raffa is an excellent wellness facility with a welcoming atmosphere and top-notch programs. I highly recommend Angela's classes to anyone looking for a fun, effective, and engaging fitness experience.

This place is a breath of fresh air! The guys who work here (I think one of them is named Craig?)…read moreare so welcoming. Sometimes meditation can feel a bit overly lofty, but I felt completely at home here, as soon as I took my shoes off at the door. For example, I attended a very long meditation workshop, and in the middle there was a break with tea, conversation, and all sorts of delicious snacks to make the experience as comfortable as possible. They have both chairs and cushions, and you're welcome to do whatever you prefer. The space isn't particularly large, but as long as you get there early you should be fine. Kyle Davis, a "resident teacher," was inspiring and made the material super approachable for a beginner like myself. He had clearly prepared very thoroughly; he made sure to begin and end with a summary of what we learned and techniques we can use in our everyday lives. He read from a text which was stocked in the small book shop in the center, but it wasn't like he was hawking the book or anything. Plus, classes are half off for seniors and students, so it comes out to about $4-$15 per class with the discount. You can register online or pay at the door. They also have community potlucks about once a month, so I would really encourage anyone who's the least bit interested in meditation or Buddhism to check out their calendar!
