Once again we are back in PA and decided to have breakfast and lunch here on two occasions. For lunch I had the chicken carbonara. Being that I love Cheesecake factory and Olive gardens carbonara and my past review of limerick dinner I'm sure that I would love there carbonara. It arrived and it had hard boiled eggs mixed in the sauce. I was trying to wrap my mind around the hard boiled eggs in carbonara. I wasn't used to that taste. I must say this hindered me from wanting to eat more. I didn't care for their style if carbonara. Breakfast visit. I decided to get a burger and a pizza. They are known for their pizza. My burger tasted rubbery almost like it was fake beef. I couldn't out my finger on it. The pepperoni pizza was OK nothing special. What happened to this place? I remember several years ago it was amazing. Staff The staff is always pleasant. There has never been an issue with customer service only the food. However, this is it our waitress was extremely kind and smile the entire time. I did notice that she had what look like psoriasis and it was freaking on her left hand shoulder from behind your ear. I don't mind this but it was flaking all over the place. I think she should have dusted her shoulder off or possibly use a hair net. Because my appetite changed just a little. Woman's bathroom for some reason when you walk into the hallway where the bathrooms are located it is extremely cold. Upon opening the door in the women's bathroom I look directly up and there was the grave ceiling tile that look dilapidated and quite frankly it made me nervous but it was going to fall on me. It was the filthiest thing I've seen in the bathroom. Feedback Limerick diner has the potential to be such a great face. The character that this diner has can be built upon only if you do it right. Your menu is all over the place. I think they need to streamline their menu. the food is not what I remember which is why I had to change my review from a 5-star to a 2-star. And I would highly suggest the waitress how to use a hair net. I understand that certain things is out of control. But in this case there are treatments for that type of skin irritation. should I happen to visit Limerick again I don't think I will be going to this diner. read more

This was from a visit on the 29th of April 2019. Stopped in for a 10 pm dinner and had the Turkey mini meal with a salad and a baked potato and broccoli. Everything was of diner quality. The rolls in my bread basket were hard but I still ate them. My server was on top of things while he went about his other responsibilities. I took out a dessert and it was just about going to be past it's time but again I still ate it,later that night. I would suggest that you try one of the mini meals as I once heard from a server that a couple once got "full size"entree portions and the order was put in as a mini meal portion. read more

I've only recently started loving diners. My meal of choice is always breakfast. French Toast is one of my all time favorites. The Banana French Toast was to die for. The pieces of toast were huge...at least an inch thick and filled with a lovely cinnamon flavor. So glad I ordered only two slices. No way I would ever have been able to eat three. The service was good. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back for breakfast. read more

Gave this place two tries, Covid or not. Every other establishment figures it out - today was repulsive - Dirty food behind tables - Food not cooked thoroughly beyond disgusting and not edible. - Pathetic Service and clueless staff that does not care - Manager could not care less when I complained - Dirty overall - Mold in bathroom STAY away from this rat hole, don't give them a dime and spare your health. Stopped in here for lunch on 2/15/24. Waited about 10 minutes to be acknowledged by a waitress after being seated. We did observe two waitresses just standing around while we waited. Food was so-so, service sucked, cashier at register had zero personality with not even a Thank you after paying. Sorry Limerick Diner we won't be back. read more

The French Toast and Greek Salad was was delicious the ambiance was great and butiful

My family recently chose the Limerick Diner for a luncheon following my father's funeral. We could not have asked for a better experience. Dom and his staff took care of everything and made us feel like family. The food was excellent, and the staff went over and above to make sure that each person had exactly what they needed. I can't say enough good things. I've been visiting Limerick Diner since I was a child and didn't know what to expect as the restaurant changed management since my last visit. I'm happy to say that the new owners and managers are taking very good care of both the location and their customers. The diner still has the same homey feeling that I remember from my childhood. Food was a little better this time, but my waitress kara was very rude. We waited for drinks for excessively long, ordered and got our food no sooner than she sat the plates down she dropped the check. She Did not return again until my wife flagged her down for a refill. On the way out the manager was behind the counter laughing and joking all while stuffing his fat face with food. Maybe if he was more attentive to his staff we wouldnt keep having this problem here. My family and I usually go to this diner before we hit the outlets and its always a good time. The food here is really good and the staff is nice. The menu has a lot of choices and it took me awhile to figure out what I wanted to eat but I decided to order the veggie omelet with a water and coffee. The coffee was good and the veggie omelet was just what I expected. My mom ordered the eggs benedict and my dad ordered an omelet as well. Everything came out great and we will be returning next time we go to the outlets. read more

I have been here in the past but don't remember what I had but today I had breakfast. I had the limerick special, 2 eggs, bacon, sausage & 2 pancakes for $9.95. The pancakes were spectacular, thick big and fluffy... really good. The eggs were cooked well and it only came with one piece of bacon and one piece of sausage. The bacon was actually really good but way over cooked and the sausage was also good. My thoughts were that for ten bucks the breakfast should have come with coffee and maybe some toast or home fries . Looked like the omelettes were good and the service was also very good. All the food is expensive, they give you a small drink and charge you a for large, which $4.50 for a "Large" Chocolate milk 5$ for a "Large" Orange juice?!?! you can get a cartoon for that amount and the the majority of the waitstaff is miserable and stands around ignoring their responsibilities. They want to do the bare minimum dropping the check off a minute after we waited 15 minutes for our food (table of 2) i want going to order more but i'm thankful i didn't. To start off, the sign is lit up saying open 24 hours, signs on the door state new hours for summer 6a- 12midnight. Go in to order breakfast, the waitress seats us asked us for our drink order, come back and just puts the drinks down 3 out of 4 cups were similar in color and size but were different drinks. The waitress then asks if we're ready to order than walks away blatantly ignoring us to go talk to the other waitress behind us. We called her over multiple times to continuously be ignored. We finally get her attention, asks her which drinks are which and that we were ready to order. We finally order, food comes out and isnt hot at all, the toast wasn't toasted, the other food was on the cool side (like it's been sitting). The home fries were as hard as rocks. The waitress walks by, doesn't check on us, we start to try and get her attention, yet again to be ignored. Finally get her attention, she takes the food away and it comes back microwaved. She said the water wasn't boiled enough. She brings back the check and says, I took 15% off for the cold food. We ask for a manager, only for another waitress to come over and say the manager isn't in. We apologize but it's bc we closed and just opened (mind you, opened 3 hours prior to us coming in). Than we go on to tell her about our service and the lack of the waitress we had, since she said she was in charge. She goes I'm so sorry, I'll pass it on to our manager whenever he gets in. I hope you come back and give us another chance. To blame it on the store closing and reopening 6 hours later isn't an excuse not to be prepared and to undercook food. read more

Sadly you're not allowed to award no stars and are forced to award one although not earned !!!! Once you get past the fancy exterior and inside there is no distinguishing the difference between this place and a public toilet based on the crap they serve! Food is old, cold, dried out and quite possibly even recycled! Truly dreadful !!! How can you screw up breakfast food ... congrats because they truly have mastered doing so ! French Toast is nothing more than thick slices of old stale bread buttered and thrown on a grill! Hmm aren't you supposed to dip that bread in frothy scrambled eggs, cream, and a little vanilla and cinnamon then let it soak up all that yummy goodness before cooking on a buttered grill? I really WANT to like this place. I've lived in this area my whole life and remember when it was the original owner. The last owner who had it .. it was terrible, so when I saw another owner from out of state with good restaurant experience bought this place I was real happy! I came the first weekend opened had the chicken parm.. it was great. I've been probably 6-8 times and every single time something is poor. I understand that new servers don't have the experience but TRAIN them to come to the table with in 2 minutes. my main complaint is: slow and poor service. high prices. my girlfriend ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, and the chicken was disgusting most pieces looked like chicken lunch meat with a heavy breading that was very over cooked, hard or mushy pieces that my dog wouldn't have eaten. the wait staff all ganged up on us saying we just co pay and we're very rude and even blocked our exit and treated us. we pay for the crappy meal and left. We decided to give it a try since they reopened with new owners. The overwhelming smell of cleaning products which smelled like ammonia was the first thing I noticed as I walked in the door. It looks the same as it did previously but with maybe some new light fixtures. The cleaning cart was sitting there near the tables. Service was great. The young lady taking care of us was very friendly and attentive. The food was average. The blue cheese dressing was very sweet and Russian dressing looked more like French dressing. The burger and Reuben were average. The chicken croquets were very good. Would rate it a 6/10 read more

The place was clean, and has had some upgrades. Good amount of staff. For what we ordered and quantity of food on the plate, I thought the prices were a bit high. I ordered the Crispy chicken salad, there wasn't much in the bowl in the way of lettuce, the chicken, I had to look for, very little in the salad, I unfortunately left there hungry. I expected a bit more for $15.00 for a salad. The burgers were ok but my son and husband were still a bit hungry. Staff was very nice though and knew their jobs. read more

The Limerick Diner was always know for good food and good desserts. We used to eat here often on when we were in the Limerick area, but our last visit was back in Sept. 2017 and it was our last visit. My husband was eating his BLT sandwich and stopped and looked really disgusted when he stopped chewing and pulled a super long hair out of his mouth. He put the sandwich down and was going to stop eating and then he decided to just leave that side and eat the other half. Same thing, another long hair in the sandwich. What happened to hairnets? The best part was when the server came back and took our plates away and she asked if he wanted his to go. His whole dinner was on the plate with a bite out of each side of the sandwich. This is the best diner ive ever been to. I am not from this area (getting work done at car dealership around here) but after eating here i wish i was. I got cinnamon raisin french toast which was seriously delicious & my boyfriend got an Italian panini which he claimed was the best he'd ever had. Bonus: they are open 24/7. They have different varieties of hot or iced drinks They have what looks like amazing desserts. Happened to be in the area last night. Needed something to nosh on. Can't resist trying a diner I haven't tried before. All I had here was a bowl of oatmeal with banana, grilled buttered corn muffin, and a large OJ. Of those three items, I would definitely eat that corn muffin again. It was huge and tasty. The oatmeal was huge too, but just ok. I've had better orange juice in other diners, I've also had worse. They made almost 10 bucks off of me on that little meal. Seemed a bit high for what I got. I'm sorry, Limerick Diner, although your service was quite nice, I cannot accept that a dessert we were served (carrot cake) had mold inside. This is why my wife was able to determine that the cake had an odd taste. And you have a baker on premise? Don't you rotate or check stock? Apparently not. The first choice of the strawberry shortcake was not served by our waitress upon her realization that it was too dry (old) after cutting a piece of it. Sounds like every dessert needs to be tossed. Thankfully it was taken off the bill, and the decaf coffee was good. One star for that and the service (which, again, was fine). There better be no barf on our road trip, Limerick Diner! Food is great. Service great. Only issue unorganized with seating. I have been here twice and both time the hostess was not organized. First not calling me to be seated at all. Second time they did not call parties in the proper order even when they had the same party number. Had to correct the hostess both times. Told 15 minute wait only to come back and add another 20 minutes because the kitchen is behind.( not the young hostess fault they were just listening to the kitchen manager) Though, if you have empty seats Sit your customer an explain that the kitchen is behind. I can accept that rather then standing for 35 minutes. If they fix this I would rate 5. read more

Would you seat customers in a booth with a disintegrating ceiling? Neither would I, but they did. When water starts pouring out of your disintegrated ceiling on your customer, would you start by asking them if they were OK? I would, but they didn't. Would you ever eat there again? My wife and I met some of our veteran friends here for breakfast. Our waitress Stephanie I believe her name was made it quite clear that we were last on her list. I mean how often do you sit in a diner with a empty coffee cup for twenty minutes? Yelp (pun intended) she was that bad. Clean, friendly & food was great. Our server got everything right & paused to brew fresh tea so we would have it. We are here visiting after moving away 4 years ago-was nervous because of reviews found here...pleased to announce they were wrong! My wife and I stopped here after work one morning after recently moving to the area. We were the only patrons at the time but it took the waitress 10-15 minutes to come to our table. I live within 2 miles of The Limerick Diner and over the past 20 years, I've watched its slow slide from being (A) a well-known local institution that served consistently good food; to (B) a repeatedly sold-off diner that was acceptable, if not great; to (C) a rathole where service, food, and cleanliness were all awful. Frankly, it's a relief to see the diner shut down at this point. Best course of action for any buyer at this point would be complete demolition of the dilapidated structure and a fresh start. read more

I don't give 2 stars but my mom had to return her chicken salad because it was inedible. It tasted like it went bad! I got sausage egg and cheese on a wrap and it was ok but the wrap tasted old and the sausage was kind of strange. My sister got bacon egg and cheese on a bagel and said it was good. The service was ok, I had to find the server to return the chicken salad. My mom asked for a BLT no mayo in case that's what was bad on the wrap. They brought it out 5 minutes later and a manager apologized. It had mayo on it but the mayo was not bad. I think I will find a different diner/restaurant to go to next time I am in town! read more

It's what you'd expect, nothing more, nothing less. I like to meet my girlfriends there for breakfast or brunch on the weekends and we never have a problem getting a large table. There menu is huge, lots of good omelette choices! The service is decent. I recommend finishing off your meal with a chocolate covered strawberry or two. read more

These people need to learn a lesson in how to run a restaurant. Extremely poor service. Went with my family on a busy morning. I asked to put my name on the wait list and was informed that there is no list. Instead, there was chaos: customers standing in two or three different lines, arguing over who's next. Are these simpletons incapable of maintaining a list of name and number in each party? Can't comment on the food: we got tired of waiting, and I called the diner down the street, where they were happy to take my name over the phone; our table was ready when we arrived. read more
