I asked him for a…read morewritten estimate and was told it would cost $120 because I lived in Fordland about 15-20 mins from Springfield, MO. He told me that he could come out the next day at 9am and if I give him the job they will cut the estimate in half. We discussed what I was looking for, which was a whole house generator hookup, not a six circuit transfer box and hookup. He said ok, I'll be there tomorrow at 9am. So, I told my wife that there wouldn't be power for about 4hrs. So, she planned to be gone running errands during that time. 9am came no show. At 10am I called his number and I immediately got a text from him saying I'll call you right back. Now, it's 3pm and no call, no tex, no nothing. I stated to him I needed to get this done today January 22, 2026. I could have hire someone else to do the job if I had known he was going to not show up and not call. It was very unprofessional and just disrespectful. Even if he couldn't because he had an emergency job or something, a text saying I couldn't make it would have made all of the difference. It would have given me the option to get someone out her to do it. I just believe if you give someone your word, you keep it. If you can't you own up to it. All a people have today are their reputations. The impression you give is the impression you are judged by. It's unfortunate.

We also had another contractor (in no way associated with liberty) who was to put in cedar walls to complete our remodel. When we went into the showroom to tell them it was the wrong color, we were told it would be another 3 months for the correct one to come in. Our contractor had other jobs that he needed to get to, so it was going to be more than 3 months before he could get back to our site. We did not want to have our bathroom incomplete for that long so felt we had no choice but to accept this color that we did not choose. They did give us a whopping $300.00 off. Mind you, they would have had to spend a LOT more to replace it. The install took over a week! We already had a second bathroom that liberty was supposed to do. When they "completed" it, we found out that they did not include a topper for the shower on this install although they had on the first shower. Of course they could order one for us for yet more money, unfortunately we didn't feel like we had a choice if we wanted it to look right. Although a third of the size this install also took over a week. I had 2 friends who have been over & wanted to get their bathrooms redone. I have told them to go with ANYONE other than liberty. Jacuzzi was maybe a thousand dollars higher, and I really wish we had gone with them or anyone else. Also, the person they have answering the phone (Brenda) is not of any help. She is JUST there to take your money & your calls. She has no helpful information on your install.

But the buyer was to confused on whom to believe, an actual foundation company or an inspector who doesn't know anything about structure if he can't find a crack but yet kept saying it was structure, lol oh well guess what, the Mason company came out and fixed the expansion joint above the window, he said it happens all the time where the builder doesn't put enough expansion joints by windows. Something an inspector should know, not just immediately go to, oh it's structural.

We've not been in their new location. About eight years ago we visited their other place. One of these days we hope to visit the new Cardins. But they need a new sign and better apperance. I'm not a sign maker, sign seller or graphic artist. I'm not in construction or real estate. But I love beautifying my house and enjoy shopping for it. Cardins needs to change their sign. The current sign is not appealing visually. (Isn't visual appeal for women shoppers the reason gas stations started putting flower pots by their doors?) If the front of Cardins looks more attractive, it's more likely that more residents will come in. Think about the different home owners living within a 20-minute drive of that Cardins. There is Brentwood, Iron Bridge, National Place, Phelps Grove, Roundtree plus Southern Hills. There are other residential areas, too. Friends of ours live in a lovely area of brick homes off of South Luster. Don't recall the name of their subdivision, but it's probably 20 minutes from their door to Cardins.
