There were a lot of potential places we could've stayed on our girls trip to Boise but the Modern…read moreended up with our vote on based on the following: 1) free breakfast: every morning there was free coffee/tea from Flying M, fresh squeezed orange juice (!!), banana bread, bananas, and then a small variety of made to order options including yogurt parfait, veggie frittata, and a bacon frittata. loved everything about this. this was a hard selling point for me. 2) free bike rental: ultimately ended up being too big for our petite frames but this is well worth it if you wanna bike around downtown or on the greenbelt 3) proximity to downtown: honestly if it wasn't so cold we'd be so much more inclined to walk more but everything was super close to the hotel. was nice to have the option to walk or drive downtown bc we were so close 4) free parking: this was a big one! we needed a car for our excursions so needed a hotel that would have free parking. there's not many spots between the front and back lots but we never were unable to find a spot during our time there 5) added a mini fridge to our room upon request..self explanatory lol All in all, a very good experience staying at this hotel and I'm glad we spent a little more to stay here. To top it off, the lady working the front desk late Thursday night was super super nice. Great first impression of Boise based on that alone!

We always come back because of the beautiful views and access to the river, comfortable rooms, and the pools. We love swimming in the indoor and amazing salt water outdoor pool. We always have friendly poolside service and enjoy the live music in the summer. It is a convenient location to downtown Boise. You also get free breakfast buffet included with your stay and I highly recommend the omelette station. I talk about this omelette constantly because I have never found one I like as much! The only downside is the hotel is extremely large and it's easy to get lost. It might be hard for someone with limited mobility to get around.

A nice, very large hotel along the water. We booked this hotel as the last stop on our Idaho trip…read more We had just driven about 7 hours and finally got here thinking it would be a Best Western.... Except that this is not a Best Western. They partner with the chain, but have no signage stating Best Western until you get to the concierge. This would normally be fine, except that I drove around this hotel 3 times until I got tired, walked in and figured it out. Upon arrival, the lady at reception was nice. She greeted me fine and gave me these delicious hot chocolate chip cookies. The room itself was nice, but boy was it a challenge getting to it. Did I mention this hotel is large? It apparently only has 2 elevators and they are both very far away from our room. After what felt like an hour we finally found our room and relocated our car for the 3rd time. Overall, the hotel is nice, the location is nice, but the service is what killed me. For one we asked for a shower cap and it took them over an hour to bring one. I also asked for recommendations for things to do in Boise and the young lady had no idea. Her response was that she never leaves her home. I feel that if you work in a hotel, you should have some idea as to where people should see and dine at in your area. Overall, nice hotel. But service is lacking.
