First and foremost, the lack of communication from staff members was incredibly frustrating. Important updates regarding my child's progress or any incidents at school were nonexistent. There was no way to know what the children were doing all day at this daycare. They would not come home with any projects, homework, not even a piece of artwork in the month and a half we were there. Furthermore, the curriculum seemed outdated and uninspired. My child showed little enthusiasm for the activities provided, suggesting a lack of engagement and stimulation. It's disheartening to witness such a lackluster approach to early childhood education. Aside from the aspects of the education and staff, my child consistently had unusual episodes of accidents and vomiting that did not seem to be linked to any infection or illness. On the most upsetting occasion, during lunch time, my daughter had told a staff member that she needed to use the restroom and was told that she has to wait. She ended up going number two in her pants in the lunch room. She is 4 years old and has never had an accident as such since being potty trained at 2. She consistently told me that they would tell her she has to wait until after lunch to use the restroom. When I spoke to the owner, she was inconsistent with her story about the incident. Originally telling me that she never told anyone she had to use the restroom, then she speaks very quietly and they will have to work with her to speak louder, and finally that the teacher did come up to her and asked her if she had to go number one or number two and she said number one. As if whether she had to pee or poop would make any of this better. Fast forward one week and during lunch the staff member told her to finish her food, but she did not like it. She ended up throwing up instantly as I put her in my car after school and in tears telling me she didn't like the food she was told to finish. All of this could be over looked if I didn't reach out to SEVERAL other families in Livingston that had similar experiences and had left this day care as well. So far I have yet to meet someone who has something good to say about this day care. These are just a few of my experiences at this facility, which I have plenty more of. The owner also has a ridiculous policy to notify them one month in advance if you decide to leave or you lose your deposit. So basically, my child is miserable there and I have to force them to continue to go for one more month or we lose our deposit. Obviously I care for my child far too much to put her through any more of this. I was so upset over this entire experience I did not even bother to return to pick up my children's belongings leaving behind some clothing and slippers for 2 children. Just stay away, there are plenty of lovely and wonderful daycares, including Russian based day cares, around our areas to choose from. This place is very cold and not a pleasant experience for any child or parent.

Karrah is a dedicated director of the school and always stays on top of meeting expectations and children's individual needs. I wouldn't recommend any other place to accommodate your children ! The circular and atmosphere for the children who attend this school is one of a kind. Highly recommend a tour as well.

Do not enroll your kids in this daycare…read more I enrolled my son in this daycare few months ago and had a very terrible experience.The teachers in my son's classroom were very rude and irresponsible. There were two instances where I went to pick my son and found him in wet clothes. His teacher did not even bother to change his clothes (God knows for how long he was sitting in those wet clothes). I don't understand how come his teacher did not realize that he was sitting in wet clothes if I could figure it out in few seconds after seeing my son. When I asked the teacher why he was sitting in wet clothes she did not even care to apologize. In other few instances, I found my son's shoe laces untied and his teachers did not bother to help him tie the shoe laces. Also his teachers were so rude, at several instances I have noticed them screaming loudly at the kids. Thank god , I have recently enrolled my son in an another daycare. My son is loving his new school from the very first day and never wants to go back to the learning experience. This is the worst daycare I have even seen.

The facilities are impressive (nice welcome area, well organized classrooms and large outside playground). They often have 3rd parties come in and host special classes (music, gymnastics, etc) which the kids love. The owner is especially accommodating, accessible and responsive.

They uphold every safety precaution and always call you if there are any concerns or questions from staff for a parent. They have so many activities for the children, field trips, and my daughter is even taking swimming lessons! The owner/director is always on site and always makes sure to greet everyone by name and have a relationship with all the families. The staff are amazing not only with the children but with teaching them as well. My daughter has learned so much since she has been here and I would NEVER feel comfortable having her anywhere else. I would highly recommend this daycare/preschool to EVERYONE.

They never believe the challenges and behaviors he showed there and for a kid who had a hard time with speech, I now know these behaviors were his distress call. Poor buddy. So thankful for all those teachers around him after heritage who saw/see how bright and kind he is and who enjoy him. Head teacher Loretta claims to have been running school for "30 plus years." A couple of my issues…read morewith her are 1) she says she had to write up a report due to my son hitting someone or pulling hair. I have NEVER seen one of these reports and he has attended almost a year. 2) she strapped my son to a high chair to get him to stop Running around. 3) she said she went over every behavioral need that he needed though we never once had one meeting about my son to figure out a game plan. 2) my child is very active and doesn't want to sit around doing circle time or coloring or dancing he always has to be doing something. These girls (who are not trained only like 2 of them have been there a couple years) don't wanna deal with a child like that. 3)my son was always left to the side. I've had to leave work early, or not go in at all because he was "acting up" EVEN THOUGH he hugged every child on that playground before he left to go home with me. 4)Loretta tells me at 4:30pm in the middle of the week that my son is no longer wanted at her school and she wants him out. She said "were asking he doesn't come in tomorrow... three teachers of mine quit because of your son I'm Not going to jeopardize my business because of one kid" because of this I now sit home everyday and have lost my job due to no child care because every other daycare I have called is full. Minus the attitude from staff (who's children attend the school as well) and the "head owner" Loretta there are 20 plus minutes of wait time when you text that you're here for your child. Or there are multiple clothing articles that I have not received back OR I have gotten by mistake every day AND asked on my personal time to DRIVE to the school to return said articles of clothing to the right parent!!!! Are you serious?. With that being said.... Thank you Loretta you knew my situation when I came to you and assured me that you "work with children" you don't "give up." Bull SHIT and a big fuck you.

Wonderful school with teachers who go the extra mile with each child. I love that there is a six…read moremonth age span in each class and that the student:teacher ratio is beyond what is required in the state of new jersey. They also take two year olds, not just two and a half year olds, like other schools. And they change diapers! The director is really educated and practical, which is very refreshing. The curriculum is age-appropriate and focuses a lot on social skills which is so important at the preschool level. In addition, the preschool provides many additional activities such as lunch bunch and enrichment programs. An extra bonus is curbside service. The wonderful teachers will take the children out of the car at the start of school and put them back in at the end of school. Parents never need to leave their cars! My daughter is very shy and was hesitant to start school. After one day at the Gingham Giraffe Preschool, she could not wait to go back! She loved it so much that we decided to send her an additional day. My husband and I truly feel blessed to have our daughter in such an amazing preschool! The Gingham Giraffe has helped her develop a love of learning! Kudos to Mrs. Smith and her wonderful teaching staff!

I had never heard of a "cooperative" nursery school before I started my oldest daughter there, 4…read moreyears ago. It is truly a unique and wonderful way to meet like-minded parents and join a community of your child's friends and classmates. I really look forward to my "Special Days", where I get to spend the day in the classroom with my daughter, chat with her friends and see what goes on in her school. Then when she comes home talking about her day or her friends, I really know what or who she is talking about and it's wonderful to share that world with her. My third child is now in the 3's class, with Miss Susan and Miss Lisa. I can't say enough about their love and respect for our children as little people. Education is play-based, always with humor and understanding, and in the spirit of fun. Family events are organized regularly, and we remain friends with families whose children have moved on to elementary school.
