First, the air conditioning situation was absolutely unacceptable. It was nearly 100° outside with the heat index, and despite repeatedly asking staff to lower the temperature, nothing ever changed. As the bride, I was drenched in sweat in my wedding dress -- a dress I'd been dreaming about wearing all day -- and I ended up having to change out of it early because I genuinely felt like I was going to pass out. It was heartbreaking and not something any bride should have to go through. To make matters worse, the back door leading to the ceremony space had to be left open all day. If it closed, it would automatically lock, requiring someone to walk all the way around the building to reopen it. This only made the AC issue worse and left the space feeling stuffy and uncomfortable. Which had guest looking at the thermostat that read 76 all night. We also chose the "picnic package" for our catering, which included hamburgers and condiments. While the food tasted good, the condiments provided were only ketchup, mustard, and BBQ sauce. No pickles, onions, lettuce, or anything else you'd typically expect for a picnic-style burger bar. It felt really underwhelming and a bit misleading based on how it was described especially since we had already brought in our own desserts and cocktail snacks. I would've brought toppings if I knew they weren't included if I was told. That said, I do want to shout out the bartender -- she was absolutely lovely -- and the rest of the staff helping out were kind and polite throughout the event. Unfortunately, it just didn't make up for the other major issues. Lastly, the "groom's getting ready room" was not at all what we expected. It was essentially a dark storage closet with no lighting, barely big enough for two people. We weren't shown this space during our tour -- we were told it was "in use" -- but had we seen it, we would've made different plans. We paid a premium for this venue, and while there were some positives, the lack of transparency, climate control, and overall delivery made what should've been the best day of our lives feel unnecessarily stressful and uncomfortable.

The venue is pretty much a huge banquet hall that uses a curtain to divide up the room for smaller groups in order for it to not look quite as big. We were not given access in order to further set up and rehearse the night before instead we were told that we would have enough time before guests arrived. We had agreed on us arriving 30 minutes prior to guests in order for us to be able to setup and go over a quick rehearsal, however, this was not the case because we were not allowed into the hall and all doors were locked. After the DJ opened the door to allow a few of the bridal party inside the owner came unglued and started ranting. She told us we needed to wait until the official time when guests would arrive. So now we have guests arriving with nothing setup and we have still yet to rehearse. It's pouring outside and the owner refuses to allow guests to come in or at least stand in the entry way until her watch precisely says the exact time. The wedding invitation stated 4:00 so typically guests will arrive a few minutes early. The doors are still locked. It's windy, raining and cold outside and our guests are getting soaked so we open the door to allow them in only to stay in the entry way. The owner becomes very upset and insisted guests return to their car and wait. This is a special day where guests are dressed in their best for a wedding and they're getting soaked. There was really no reason the guests could not come in a couple of minutes early to get out of the rain. The tables, chairs and the decor the venue offered had been set up a couple weeks in advance so there was nothing for them to set up for since there hadn't been an event booked for a couple weeks prior to their wedding Another issue we had was there is absolutely no parking designated just for the bridal party especially the bride to pull up close to the back entrance and hurry to get out of the rain. There is also no dressing room for her to do a few last minute touches or a safe place to store items away like purses and cell phones. It was really hard to hear the ceremony without a mic even from upfront let alone those sitting off to the back of the room. We asked if we could use a mic and was told there was not one available. During the wedding ceremony the owner was showing the venue on two seperate occations to potential clients VERY rude and unprofessional.. and yes I do have photos proving this. This is not the time to be showing off your venue to potential clients!! Putting a wedding together is stressful enough but this experience added a lot of unnecessary additional stress for everyone involved. For an owner, operator and hostess working with the public she was not helpful, friendly or flexible. Unless you absolutely have no other options available I would recommend taking your business elsewhere.

The bathrooms were easily accessible and clean. We had a company cater the food, and they had plenty of room as well as amenities in the kitchen. If you want music, they can hook you into the sound system, but it requires a regular jack, so you will need to bring the appropriate equipment for that. They offer drink services for a flat fee as well as coffee. Now, the only improvement I could think of is that they need a bigger sign or something that let's you know where to turn. We had several people who missed the turn. But that is a small issue. Overall I highly recommend using this place for your event.

The staff was responsive to calls and emails when we needed information, making decisions and ironing out the final details. Union 12 facility is not inexpensive. However we feel like they gave us a very good value and the ultimate experience was excellent. I could use a lot of words to describe their facility. I have attached pictures you can review along with their web sites. Overall the facility, grounds and bridal suite were in very good repair and attractively designed. The facility is very welcoming and allows your guests to feel comfortable quickly. The outside seating area is so what small but can easily handle 200+ people. The covering is nice to help protect against the weather. The chairs are comfortable. They gave a couple arches that you can choose from for a back drop. The bridal suite is nice. It's not overly spacious. It could be uncomfortable if you have much more than 7-8 bridesmaids. The lower level has a nice kitchen to make your day long preparation more comfortable. The kitchen isn't stocked with utensils so bring your own. The upstairs is meant for groomsmen to get ready. This area is rather small and somewhat uncomfortable due to the low ceilings and small rooms. The facility grounds are very nice and welcoming. The fire put, pond lawn areas and seating areas are nice. The outdoor lighting is very attractive especially at night. There is a decent amount of parking. The signage on the road is very poor. It is easy to drive right past the facility if you aren't careful. The inside the facility is wide open. The balcony is easy to access as there are two staircases. The balcony is close to the head table area for good viewing. The bar is compact but strategically located. It can get pretty crowded at the bar area as this is where the staircase comes out. On this occasion our buffet line was near the bar as well. The side room has a fair amount of seating. People in the far back corner don't have a very good view of the head table area. The dance floor was in good condition. If you have a lot of tables you will need to take down tables to make enough space to dance. The bar service is very good. They had ample help to move drinks for our 200 people. They provide water and lemonade self serve containers. We purchase the package that provided beer, wine and vodka. This turned out to be sufficient for most all people. The bar staff was very friendly and efficient. Union 12 provided us the a coordinator for the whole day. I explained that I lived in another state and inquired about the menu. I learned that only a limited menu was available, and was offered to try both the turkey tips and the pork rib tips. They were good, but neither were smoked. I like smoked meats on the grill, and these seemed to be marinated in Italian dressing and baked. The meat didn't have a char taste. I decided on the pork with greens and potato salad. Again these items weren't as I am familiar with, as they didn't taste homemade with a depth of flavor. The meal was served with white bread. The ease of working with the event coordinator was a blessing. She asked questions and gave suggestions that were so important. This insured everything started out on the right foot.
