I came to the location on Illinois Rd for a wedding. The location was large and beautiful. They were able To split the room into one half for the ceremony and the other half for the reception. The bathrooms were large, had plenty of clean stalls and it smelled nice. The food was really good also. There was green beans, brisket, chicken, potatoes, Cesar salad and rolls. I really wanted to love this venue, but unfortunately, our wedding day experience was far from what was promised or expected. First, the air conditioning situation was absolutely unacceptable. It was nearly 100° outside with the heat index, and despite repeatedly asking staff to lower the temperature, nothing ever changed. As the bride, I was drenched in sweat in my wedding dress -- a dress I'd been dreaming about wearing all day -- and I ended up having to change out of it early because I genuinely felt like I was going to pass out. It was heartbreaking and not something any bride should have to go through. To make matters worse, the back door leading to the ceremony space had to be left open all day. If it closed, it would automatically lock, requiring someone to walk all the way around the building to reopen it. This only made the AC issue worse and left the space feeling stuffy and uncomfortable. Which had guest looking at the thermostat that read 76 all night. We also chose the "picnic package" for our catering, which included hamburgers and condiments. While the food tasted good, the condiments provided were only ketchup, mustard, and BBQ sauce. No pickles, onions, lettuce, or anything else you'd typically expect for a picnic-style burger bar. It felt really underwhelming and a bit misleading based on how it was described especially since we had already brought in our own desserts and cocktail snacks. I would've brought toppings if I knew they weren't included if I was told. That said, I do want to shout out the bartender -- she was absolutely lovely -- and the rest of the staff helping out were kind and polite throughout the event. Unfortunately, it just didn't make up for the other major issues. Lastly, the "groom's getting ready room" was not at all what we expected. It was essentially a dark storage closet with no lighting, barely big enough for two people. We weren't shown this space during our tour -- we were told it was "in use" -- but had we seen it, we would've made different plans. We paid a premium for this venue, and while there were some positives, the lack of transparency, climate control, and overall delivery made what should've been the best day of our lives feel unnecessarily stressful and uncomfortable. read more

I have been in the catering and service business for 8 years, that being said, the communication and service for my wedding day was EXTEREMELY DISAPPOINTING (especially considering we had heard such positive things). THE 2 MOST EGREGIOUS MISTAKES: 1. My (the bride's) parents and grandparents' table was placed in the back corner of the reception, farthest spot from the bridal party and away from any other members of my side of the family (NOT ACCORDING TO THE SEATING CHART WE HAD AGREED ON IN THE CONTRACT) Needless to say they were confused, hurt, and highly offended!!!! 2. We weren't given our cake after the reception. I was the last to leave and that was as the tables were being put away. I had to wait until Monday to call and find the whereabouts of it. Mr. Ceruti seemed confused and said he would investigate. Why was a member of my family not notified the night of? Instead we were left wondering whether we had the top to celebrate on our first anniversary. We ended up having to drive all the way back to their corporate office to get the cake after we came back from our honeymoon. A few other mistakes included not providing high chairs for a couple of tables as we agreed upon; not initially having our cake table in the correct spot as agreed upon (luckily my mother caught it prior to guests arriving and got it moved); and not hanging the 300 feet of bistro lights we provided; rather they only put up 100ft. I have been in contact with the owner. I explained our dissatisfaction. He seemed unbothered and in disbelief his staff could make those mistakes. After several phone calls back and forth he has yet to atone for all these issues. We left another message and have since been waiting for a call back. We paid thousands of dollars for a service to be executed CORRECTLY on the most important day of our lives, and that was not the case. The company I work for used Ceruti's for our company picnic. They had to do 4 different shifts starting at 6 AM and not ending until 8 PM the same day. Jill was awesome to work with getting everything ordered and organized. The items she suggested for the menu were amazing! On each shift, everything was fresh, hot and perfectly prepared! The staff that was onsite to help was awesome as well...Rahim (he's amazing...was at every shift from beginning to end), Barry, Max, Gary, Morgan and Corrine.....great customer service from each of them. I've heard nothing but good things from our staff...and that's almost 900 people total! We will definitely use Ceruti's for any future caterings we need! read more

We went to an event at Ceruti's Diamond Room for a 50th wedding anniversary for friends. The food was awesome! The beef was tender and all the hot food was hot and the salad was crisp. I had never been to Cerutis so I wasn't quite sure what to be expecting. From the outside I wasn't expecting all that. But what I saw was very different from my previous judgment from the outside. Ceruits was a very nice clean and professional place. When I walked inside the first thing that caught my eye was the ceiling. The ceiling was draped with lights and white cloth in rows covering the entire ceiling. It looked beautiful. Basically the only two colors surrounding the room were black and white which right away gives you a feeling of elegance and class. Typically black and white is boring, but Cerutis did a very fine job of decorating in an exciting yet orderly and fancy way. Conveniently, Even though my family and I got there early, they had everything all set and ready to go. All the tables had centerpieces with candles, wine glasses with the napkins folded neatly inside, and the silverware neatly and correctly aligned with each chair at the tables. There were already bread and butter on the tables as like an appetizer which I also thought was a very nice gesture. In the middle of the room there is a dance floor and a disco ball and a little stage, it isn't especially big, but it worked fine. The bathrooms were clean and picked up. The bathrooms actually surprised me, I thought they would be much smaller, like maybe just have a few stalls and a sink. But to my surprise they had about a dozen or more stalls and several sinks and mirrors. It was very nice, and the floor was tiled and neat looking. When it was time to start dinner, they have the employees serve you. They brought out a salad that had nuts and fruits and a pomegranate dressing. The employee stands somewhere near your table, and when you appear to be finished they ask if they can take the plate away for you. Then they go around to the tables one by one asking them to help themselves to the buffet. The buffet has many different options. They weren't your basic easy party foods. They had almond chicken, cooked vegies, pot roast, and potatoes. The food all looked hot and fresh. Steam arose from each dish that stood on the table. The chicken looked crisp and perfectly cooked. The vegtables were also cooked to perfection, they were a great combination between soft and crisp. The employees also carried around water pitchers and filled the pitcher on your table rather than your cup which I personally feel a lot more comfortable with. Then there was the chocolate fountain with lots of different options of things to dip into the chocolate. The chocolate was pure, rich, and sweet. The only minor problem I could think of about Cerutis is the location. It was kind of difficult to describe to someone how to get there. Especially with someone unfamiliar with the area, it would be extremely difficult. They could also possibly decorate the outside or make it look a bit nicer on the outside to match the inside. The inside was decorated like how a prom should be decorated, or a wedding reception, except for the walls. The walls looked as if they still had the paint from the Harley Davidson building. They should repaint the walls a different color instead of the brownish color, maybe all black, or even a fancy black and white pattern print. The reason I was at Cerutis was for my Church's 25th anniversary. Ceruits did a very pleasing job of welcoming my church to their building and making us as comfortable and as possible. They were always watchful and mindful, always making sure everyone was taken care of as best as possible. I would recommend cerutis to someone who needs to rent out a place of business for a big party. Such occasions could include, wedding receptions, graduation parties, and/ or even proms. I was very impressed with the workers and how they were always concerned with the people and who needed taken care of. They looked like they were always looking for something to do instead of just standing there. They were also very polite and professional.
