As a traveler and camper at the local St Park I ventured to the laundry room to do four loads of laundry at once versus one st a time at the camp ground. Upon arrival I needed coins since they didn't have their machines on a pay app like so many others I visited. No problem, they gladly exchanged for a roll of quarters. After seeing it was only enough for three loads I was happy to see they also had a working change machine. Many of the machines have had quite a bit of wear and tear. IlAfter washing the loads, I moved them all to dryers. As clothes became dry I took them out and folded them, placed them in my laundry baskets and brought them out to the car. I had roughly a half a load of clothes that still needed a few more minutes in the dryer and I took everything else out of the car and totally forgot that I had those clothes still in the dryer and drove away. When I got to my campsite I realized I was missing a good amount of my clothing, so I called the laundromat and explained that I had just been there described the clothes that I had and the dryer in which they would've been in. I was told that in the Lost and Found they did not have anything that met my description. But the more I thought about it the more I felt something didn't seem right. I will not mention the name of the young woman who answered the phone and told me that none of the clothes matched the description. Billing perhaps maybe they were overlooked I went back the next day. I just couldn't believe somebody would walk off with a whole half of load of clothes in a dryer. I walked in and explained what happened and described every item; two pair of dark pants, three shirts, a pair of leggings with matching jacket, three pairs of socks and a hoodie. Mind you some of them had graphic designs on them and I was able to describe each one. The girl behind the counter said when people call on the phone we tend to be busy and maybe they just really didn't listen to what you were saying. She then picked up two bags and handed them to me and said here are two bags of laundry that were found. Do any of the clothes in these bags look like yours? Of course, one bag was everything I had described exactly. I was given the bag and was told it was a good thing I came in because after 48 hours they turn it over to a shop which is there for people in need. I thanked the young woman and got in my car. When I returned to my campsite and put my clothes away, I noticed a note on the back of the bag. And the note said "blank"has dibs on these. Now mind you the name I am not repeating here whose name was on the note claiming my clothes if no one came to retrieve them was the same girl who answered the phone the day before and said nothing like that matches what we have in lost and found. Bottom line these clothes that I accidentally left in the dryer we're never gonna be turned over to the consignment/discount store and pantry but rather going home with the young lady who "claimed" them. This young woman lied to me on the phone, knew I was looking for the clothes and yet hit them in a bag with a sticky note claiming them and never had any attention to return them to me or to give them to the Store store that she claimed they give unclaimed clothes to. Deceitful is what I was left feeling. I did not call them to complain. I did not want to necessarily get the person in trouble and that is why I am still not mentioning her name. But I will tell you I would never step foot in this place again. read more

Was clean and as advertised. I did have a weird experience with one of the very high capacity dryers : after 1 hr on med heat, my heavier items, sweat pants and shirts totaling 15 pieces, were still not dry ... in another dryer of same high capacity at same medium heat, my 25 towels and wash cloths were dry in 44 minutes- this is what I expected would happen with both machines but it did not. All other machines and settings worked as expected. The lady behind the counter was very friendly - this was my first visit and I asked after purchasing rolls of quarters before I noticed the change machine- she was friendly and helpful. Floors and machines are dirty Service attendant was rude, lacks manners Electric shorted out, over loaded. Attendant stays back in a room with a two-way mirror. Attendant stepped close to the glass and suddenly appeared looking directly at me when I was folding my clothes it made me feel very uncomfortable. I will never go back there again. read more

As far as laundromats go this place is very nice. It's big and bright and very clean. There are washers of every size for whatever size load you have. There is a person working on site for any questions you might have about using the machines. The front of the place has vending machines with snacks and drinks. There are a few cute tables and chairs all along the front window. There is also a magazine rack for customers to use. Rolling baskets and folding tables are provided for customer use. If you forget your quarters there is a change machine. There is plenty of parking. read more

I've been fortunate enough to not have to go to laundromats in many years. Recently, I've had to temporarily. I checked a couple places out and just didn't feel comfortable, overall. This place was just what I needed! Great location, good hrs, parking was fine, there were plenty of different size washers and enough dryers. The woman behind the counter was super nice to me. My only 2 negatives, the coin machine is broken so you are limited to rolls, but it's better than nothing and the machines could use a little cleaning/ tlc. I am new to the area but this location had good reviews. Parking is sparse.The prices were avg and it was busy at 4pm on a Friday. The metal seating is not comfortable. Not much folding space. Machines are not new, but worked. They will do your laundry too. I did not check pricing. I did one large load for $5.75 and spent $250 on drying. I'll be trying other places but will return if I don't find a more comfortable spot. It's named Lighthouse Laundry now. read more

The water level in machines are not the same and my liquid soap did not "show up" while watching load... one of many. Told management in back and they argued with me about my concerns. The dryer door popped open while my clothes were in it and I came back to find my laundry still wet and on the floor. And when I tried to talk to an employee named Deb about it, not only did she condescendingly tell me "it's because you have too much in there" and then walk away like she did not care at all, when I asked her politely if I could get a couple of dollars to make up for my lost time/money, I was met with more condescension and indifference. There are no signs posted on the dryers either warning that the doors will come open on their own if there are large items in them. read more

The Laundry Room is now Lighthouse Laundry. This laundry definitely could be better - they only have 3 large washers to accommodate king size blankets & comforters. The machines were dirty with mold/mild surrounding the opening. The attendant was an older woman who seemed miserable & gave major attitude if you interrupted her as she was doing laundry. Her attitude alone was a deterrent to ever return to this laundry - I'll drive to Orange Park where the machines are clean & the staff are pleasant. read more

I've waited far too long to write a review of the laundry room. My wife wrote a review that was true but unflattering of the laundry room. We had dropped off some sheets and a few blankets, we were given a price and told when they'd be ready - we came back only to find that nothing had been done. My wife was pissed and wrote a review - the owner called me and was sorry about the misunderstanding and asked if there was anything He could do... which I thought was extremely nice. I told them we were fine, but he insisted and gave us a credit of $40 for our troubles. I've been in this facility twice so far and I've had really good experiences! The Laundry Room Laundromat did not disappoint! Very clean and well-lit with clean, working washers and dryers! Alice and Deb were wonderfully helpful with rolls of quarters and words of experience and support to ensure my loads of laundry were completed to perfection. (I wiped down all my machines with vinegar and water and not one showed any dirt or residue inside)-very impressive! Would definitely come back with large comforters or the next time my washer decides to stop working! By far the best laundromat in St. Augustine. This place is clean and has several tables and chairs while you wait. The machines range from 2.50-5.75 (for triple load washers). They usually only take 30 minutes or less to wash a load. The dryers are .25 for 5 minutes which is pretty cheap because they are so large that they take 25 minutes to dry a load of 8 towels. They also have free coffee and tea as well as vending machines with snacks and soda. They have someone on staff who will do your laundry for 1.10/lb. read more

Double and triple loaders -- no singles. Nice large dryers. Today the double loader was $2.75 per, and the dryers were $.25 for 5 minutes. Use the hot setting -- medium didn't dry my jeans in 30 minutes. Had to put them in for another 10 minutes. Very clean. Friendly staff. I drive a small RV (24' long) and was able to park by driving around back, and parked near the rear of the parking lot. Tight, but fine. I was there on a Saturday morning. Got there about 9am. There was a small crowd there, but I was able to get everything done without waiting. Plenty of machines. I'll definitely use this laundromat again. read more

Traveling down the East Coast during a pandemic has been quite the experience/obstacle. That being said, encountering great customer service and hospitality is beyond welcomed right now. After a long day in the heat, driving a long distance, the owner was sweet enough to buy myself and my boyfriend a soda, allowed for me to use the wifi to attend an important Zoom class, and redo a load of wash that didn't come out to our liking! I was perplexed with a broken washing machine with four kids one month before school started. I went to two other places in town. One was disgusting with trash and dirt everywhere, not to mention someone sleeping on the seats. The other did not clean nor dry like the laundry room. The machines are always well maintained. It's clean, with a free water machine, has soap you can purchase. They have a few big machines that clean all the big loads you want to get done fast. I couldn't have found a better place. The people who work/own this establishment are very kind. One day he gave everyone a soda cause it was warm on one side. What a great laundromat! It's clean, no small consideration. There is a variety of sizes of machines. And they all seem to work! The staff is helpful to include pointing you to an appropriate machine for your load so that you don't overspend. And the manager just came by offering to buy everyone in the place a soft drink. This place is a big no no, avoid coming here. I ended up checking machines for a few minutes, trying to find a clean one, all got pet hair inside and outside of them, not a clean place. Also, my first and last time I came here was during the coronavirus outbreak, and I understand it is a sensitive issues for all of us, so I asked the custodian there, woman names Lily, for some hand sanitizer, she tells me the HAND SANITIZER IS FOR EMPLOYEE USE ONLY, yep, and actually gave me attitude about it! And yet, they actually got posters all over their front doors how they are trying to protect the public and implementing the "no nonsense" rules, what a joke! She also told me i couldn't use my phone inside, and i was only texting, because of social distancing.....the concept obviously she doesn't understand. She was so rude, abrasive when she spoke to me, and I just felt harassed by her. I asked her for her name and for the name of the owner, she wasn't thrilled about my inquiries, obviously she understood I was going to file a complaint. I then went out to my car to write a review about this place. She kept turning up by my car with the owner on the phone, and when I finally told her to stop harassing me and get lost, and that I was going to write my reviews and be done with them, she called police stating I was causing trouble LOL! And this whole time I was still sitting in my car. As a customer, who pays money for the facilities, I expected to be treated politely with respect, instead this moronic woman, Lily, turned everything into circus creating hysteria. When police officer showed up and listened to my story, he told me this place has always been sketchy and that it's not a decent place to come. That says a lot! I got my duvet back, I went to A1A Beach laundromat, it's 2 min away, much cheaper and much cleaner. Everyone was quietly doing laundry and minding their business. Employee there gave me hand sanitizer without any crap and left it out for anyone to use. That's the place I'm going to next time, and Laundry Room is a hard pass! read more
