Gentle Care Cleaners was a wonderful surprise for me. It provides both Dry Cleaning and Wash/Dry/Fold. The latter was particularly important for me given that it took two weeks to get my new dryer. The Dry Cleaning is also particularly good, because clothing is returned in a timely fashion and within less than a week. My clothing is always returned in top condition and on time. In addition, the cost is very reasonable, particularly for clothing that is brought on Mondays and Thursdays. I am so grateful for Gentle Care Cleaners and plan to stay with them going forward. I was told my items would be ready on Saturday by 1pm. I showed up after one and they were not ready. I had to get them Monday morning. The guy at the front desk (possibly owner) is rude and raises his voice quickly. read more

Completely exceeded my expectations. I had an evening dress dry cleaned and a king size comforter cleaned. Both were completed in a week, at first I thought the price was a little high but the owner took the time to explain the process to clean my dress which included some beading. I agreed at the point the price was reasonable. My comforter was washed and bagged ready to be stored away which was a nice surprise. Would highly recommend. I dropped my fiancé's suit off forgetting to check the pockets and what do you know he had his best friends ID and CC cards from the last time he wore this suit! I took in a pair of dress slacks that were spattered with salad dressing. After a single dry cleaning, the stubborn stains would not come out, but Arteen, the friendly owner of Gentle Care Cleaners on FL-16 in St. Augustine, was able to remove the stains and salvage the slacks. The owner was the rudest man I have ever met in my entire life. I needed a suit pressed and ready on Wednesday, so I went in on Monday and asked the owner if it could be done by Wednesday morning and he assured me it would be done by 11 AM that day. I walked in at 11 on the dot and not only would it not be ready until 2 PM, he insisted he had told me 11 AM to 2 PM, even though he had not, and the ticket said 11. Confused I asked him why it wasn't ready, and he said the car for it had a flat tire. Now even more confused I asked if the suit was in the store, after a minute of asking he finally said it was and I asked if I could have it. I had to leave town by 1PM so if it wasn't going to be done until 2 PM I would take it home and iron it myself. That is where my troubles really began. He began ranting and raving saying that I disrespected his store and his employees, then he started belittling me constantly telling me that "your brain doesn't work right" because I wanted my property back and I was asking simple questions about why he couldn't give it to me. At this point I just wanted my clothes and wanted to leave whether they were pressed or not, so finally he relents and gets me my suit, and it looked fine! It looked folded and pressed and ready to go, when I asked him why he wouldn't give it to me he said it wasn't finished because he hadn't finished assembling it. When I asked him what that meant he again said "I'm sorry, but your brain doesn't work right. I have explained a thousand times" He then implied that that wasn't my suit and when I asked why he said, "you play games with me, I play games with you." So now, I was very aggravated and annoyed, which wasn't exactly helped by the fact he began threatening to steal my suit saying, "you get no clothes". Fortunately, I got it away from him before he could literally and metaphorically rob me, and paid him the money even though he kept implying that he hadn't done anything to clean the suit. As a final rude gesture, he accidentally gave me an extra dollar in change, and not wanting to be a rude lying robber, I informed him of this and returned his dollar. He took the dollar without thanks or acknowledgement. As someone that has worked with tourists for four years, this is the single rudest most unpleasant person I have ever had the displeasure to meet, and I hope anyone reading this avoids the mistake of doing business at this awful place. read more

I took my white bed comforter to be washed and when I picked it up it was stained with grey spots all over it. Young man said to leave it and he would personally clean it himself and get the stains out. He said he would call me in 1 week. 2 weeks passed and I dropped in to pick it up. Much to my surprise it was still stained all over. My comforter is ruined. I purchased it 1 year ago for $100. He only wanted to give me a store credit for $20. Why? So my other clothes could get ruined too! I tried to take a picture of the store business license displayed on the wall and he covered it up with his hand. He was rude and unprofessional. I requested to talk to the owner and he said he was the owner. He was about 25-35 years old with black hair. I didn't believe him. I will never take my washables or dry cleaning to Gentle Care Cleaners ( Harsh Bad Cleaners should be the business name). Reported this business to the Better Business Bureau. read more
