We had a great visit here! The condo was beautiful. There was plenty of room for my family, and it was comfortable! Our room was clean and it had a well stocked kitchen. Staff were sweet and helpful, my girls joined in on the craft activities they had. Loved the balcony on the back that overlooked the lake. We saw many people fishing and there were ducks all over the place. It rained all week, so we did not get to swim.

The Conroe, Texas, area is referred to by many as "Houston's Playground". Located just 45 minutes north of Houston on Interstate 45, Lake Conroe is the main destination for most travelers to the area. Although this beautiful area still retains a small town feel, in reality it is a fast-growing city. But, nothing seems very far in these parts, especially when you are used to driving in a major city. The Landing at Seven Coves sits smack-dab on Lake Conroe in Willis, Texas, just 15 minutes from downtown Conroe. Built on a peninsula that juts into the 19-mile long lake, it is a premier resort for visitors to this beautiful area of Texas. It's the perfect place to stay when you want to get away from it all, but would still like to have all the comforts of home. Each apartment is a self-contained residential unit equipped with a balcony that extends over the lake. Seriously, you can fish from your balcony! During our visit, I witnessed a seven-year-old boy catch a 2-lb catfish this way. Super cool! The Landing at Seven Coves offers one and two-bedroom apartments and the living room is furnished with a sofa bed which can accommodate even more. As you can see in the photography, there's a full living room with couch and easy chair; a full-size table for family meals; and a well-equipped kitchen with pots, pans, utensils, paper towels, etc. In short, everything you need for a relaxing vacation getaway! On the grounds in front of the units, everything is provided so guests can enjoy a fabulous BBQ! For every 3 or 4 units, a shared grill is available - along with an outdoor table so you can eat right outside. There's plenty of parking so you don't have to haul your luggage and groceries very far from your home away from home. Another nice amenity is the centrally-located laundry facility. Here's a tip: do all your laundry before you leave and then just put everything away when you get home. There's an abundance of activities for kids and adults all summer long; everything from Tetherball and Croquet to Ice Cream Socials and Hot Dog Cook-Outs. Kids will love the children's playground along with a full basketball court which sits right off the lake. Grown-ups can relax and bask in the sun's warmth on the beautiful balconies which extend over the lake. Swimming is a great way to pass the time here when you aren't at the lake or experiencing downtown Conroe. As you can see from the photography, there is a beautiful pool with a wonderful view that backs right up to the lake. There is a boat ramp if you are traveling with any type of water craft. You can fish from just about anywhere on the grounds. There's even an area with a sink near the deck where you can clean your fish. There are many enjoyable activities to be found off the grounds as well. Nearby, you'll find a 27-hole golf course. The Lake Conroe area also offers sailing, waterskiing, and water sport rentals. Excellent hiking and biking trails are close by as well; a great way to explore the Sam Houston National Forest and get some exercise. As you know, my job is to venture out to accommodations and eateries. I check them out, write up a review and, if the experience is top-notch, they get my stamp of approval. Well, the ink is still wet as The Landing at Seven Coves just got my stamp! We really enjoyed our stay here and hope to be back soon to a wonderful place that is truly a home away from home.

    Great view!

Great place to get away! Older buildings but well kept. Next time I would stay in building 7, best view and fishing right from the balcony.....fun!

I wrecked a Jet Ski for my birthday…read more This review was 5,000 words (way too many in anyone's opinion) and I feel like I left out some of the stuff you actually need to know, so now I'm redoing it. If you do want some reading material, I'll send you it, but you have to ask.... The rental place had sent out two search parties, but they failed to find us either time and we were well within the allowed travel area. They told us after the ordeal, that we could have started the Jet Ski without the key by lifting up on the button that the key helps hold up. My sister and I both being completely not gifted in the area of mechanics and engineering never would have considered that, and frankly, I think we both panicked and didn't even think about trying to manually start it. To make matters worse, the compartment that held the bullhorn behind the seat would not open, so there was no way for me to make enough noise to draw the attention I needed. There was no way for me to open and stay upright on the Jet Ski. We had to wait around for the rental place to collect their jet ski; when they found it, it was sitting vertical, with the steering column up against the bars being beaten repeatedly thrown against the rocks by the waves. There was a nice sized hole in the plexi glass bottom and had collected a lot of water inside, but due to the large hole, it drained in minutes. Needless to say, I was thoroughly traumatized by the situation and dreaded when anyone asked me how my birthday went because I could only think about getting the flu and the Jet Ski accident. The damage to the Jet Ski totaled some $2,400, but we had to put the original damage estimate on our credit card which was $3,500 plus the cost of the 3 rentals. We obviously hadn't planned for that kind of added cost for our trip and that sucked, but what sucks more is that it has taken them just about 2 months now to give us the remaining $1,100 back that wasn't used for the repair. I basically own a Jet Ski that I'll never get to ride. I'm not saying that the owner isn't a nice guy, because my husband called him today and he was appalled by the fact that we had not yet been reimbursed. However, as we are the only lucky recipients of the freak accident award that they have ever heard of and the fact that the money owed was such a large amount, isn't this something that demands a little more attention? I don't want to scare you all away from riding Jet Skis, but I'd like you to take this away from my story of financial tragedy and emotional distress: * Don't go Jet Skiing when the weather is turbulent, especially very windy; this can cause large, choppy waves and increase the likelihood that you will have issues returning to the vessel in case you get tipped over. *Secondly, I advise you to always wear your life vest since you never really know when something as ridiculous as this will occur and you don't want to take that chance with your life or the life of a loved one. *Also, if you are going to engage in water sports, it may help for you to be a strong swimmer as well as how to navigate undertow. *Always make sure the equipment on your Jet Ski is completely functional i.e. the key having a flotation strap, being able to access the emergency horn and if anything is not right, don't take it out. *Consider getting watercraft insurance if you don't have the funds to pay for damages on the spot. Lastly, before you leave, always ask if there is a way to start the Jet Ski without a key in case of an emergency. I strongly feel that it was the responsibility of the renters to divulge this information, but they said that they have never had this issue before; plus, they added, that they would not want everyone to know how to start them without keys because they believe theft would increase. I also believe it is their responsibility to lock up their watercraft so that they don't get stolen without relying on keeping the emergency start information a secret. All in all, this wasn't a bad place to rent from; we just had a really bad experience. It was all the small things that added up that created disaster in the end. I suppose the conditions we just right for it. If I can help just one person from this review or save one life, then my goal has been accomplished. Please be careful and conscientious when you go out on the water and be a knowledgeable renter. I'll leave you with one last thought that I learned from my experience. If something isn't meant to be, don't force it; you'll get bad results.

You would come in, pick your site, let the ranger station know and you were done. Now, since a couple months ago, they changed it to where "a computer" would pick your site for your, which would be good if all the sites were the same, but they definitely are not! Some sites are paved, some are rock, some long or short, some easy to get into, some not. They basically took your choice away! Before, if you got here and all the "good" sites were taken, that's the luck of the draw. Both times since they changed to this I've had to ask to change the site, first time, I couldn't get into the site if I wanted to. Second time they put us in a site we definitely did not want. Now, they put up a sign no drinks in the edge of the pool, no exceptions! A lot of people go to the pool, stand at the side, drink whatever it is, chill and have a good time. So now that choice has been taken away. I can understand glass containers, glass and pools don't mix, so punish those people! We have loved this place for years, but it's getting to where we don't like coming here anymore. Some of the employees are nice, some not so much. Some of the employees seem extremely lazy and are just here to talk and play. Mean while, the speed limit is 5 mph, I've seen people doing I think around 25 or 30. People have their kids and dogs walking around the park and I haven't seen much to stop that. But standing around the pool drinking whatever and having a good time, the managers said shut it down! I really don't know what's happening here. Just think hard before buying a membership. The memberships can cost thousands of dollars and they can make changes anytime, whether you like it or not, and you either have to deal with it or get rid of it. They don't care what you think! Anyway, have a good day.

It reminded me of the instagram-famous 'big-window getaway house' which we have done before, but there's so much more to do here which I loved. The property has 1 big house that is also available to rent, along with a dozen or so container tiny homes. There are 2 ponds (fishable!) , a little goat pen, and in the middle of the property is a container pool/tiki hut with a grill (so cool!) and a big community hang-out area with more big grills, games, and TVs. Inside of our tiny home was a bag of treats for the pygmy goats, a basket full of snacks and even a little smores kit! Each tiny home comes with a grill, firepit, picnic table, and half of them have a rooftop patio. Enjoying a complimentary k-cup coffee on the rooftop patio first thing in the morning was so relaxing. There's even a hot plate to cook some breakfast without getting the grill started. You are close enough to your neighbors to say Hi if you want, but there are also little fences in between each home. My boyfriend and I had a great time socializing with the other guests at the pool and grilled together later that night. We all said this place feels like an adult summer camp. The trip is about 3 hours from Austin and 1.5 hours from Houston. One day we drove right down the street to Lake Conroe and rented a kyak for a few hours. We visited the goat pen and hand fed them. The property is super dog friendly, our dog had the best time too! We met the manager, Lance and he was so helpful and friendly. He told us that they just opened June 2021 so we gotta get this place on the map!! They deserve it. Our stay was amazing and we would definitely return.
