In summary, this is my new quaint.Happy little place…read more Location, this is about 10 minutes from downtown Willis you can call willis having a downtown. The place features different cargo cabin things that are gathered around the barn area where there's lots of games. There is each person has their own individual fire pit and a larger fire pit in the center plus a heated pool and an area to pet goats. They're also is for rent a three thousand square foot house. There is no food available and it takes about ten minutes to really get to anything good, but it's not that far to find something tasty. This is a place that you want to be able to get away but not have to go too far and a place that we absolutely felt safe in and intend to come back.

It reminded me of the instagram-famous 'big-window getaway house' which we have done before, but there's so much more to do here which I loved. The property has 1 big house that is also available to rent, along with a dozen or so container tiny homes. There are 2 ponds (fishable!) , a little goat pen, and in the middle of the property is a container pool/tiki hut with a grill (so cool!) and a big community hang-out area with more big grills, games, and TVs. Inside of our tiny home was a bag of treats for the pygmy goats, a basket full of snacks and even a little smores kit! Each tiny home comes with a grill, firepit, picnic table, and half of them have a rooftop patio. Enjoying a complimentary k-cup coffee on the rooftop patio first thing in the morning was so relaxing. There's even a hot plate to cook some breakfast without getting the grill started. You are close enough to your neighbors to say Hi if you want, but there are also little fences in between each home. My boyfriend and I had a great time socializing with the other guests at the pool and grilled together later that night. We all said this place feels like an adult summer camp. The trip is about 3 hours from Austin and 1.5 hours from Houston. One day we drove right down the street to Lake Conroe and rented a kyak for a few hours. We visited the goat pen and hand fed them. The property is super dog friendly, our dog had the best time too! We met the manager, Lance and he was so helpful and friendly. He told us that they just opened June 2021 so we gotta get this place on the map!! They deserve it. Our stay was amazing and we would definitely return.

I wrecked a Jet Ski for my birthday…read more This review was 5,000 words (way too many in anyone's opinion) and I feel like I left out some of the stuff you actually need to know, so now I'm redoing it. If you do want some reading material, I'll send you it, but you have to ask.... The rental place had sent out two search parties, but they failed to find us either time and we were well within the allowed travel area. They told us after the ordeal, that we could have started the Jet Ski without the key by lifting up on the button that the key helps hold up. My sister and I both being completely not gifted in the area of mechanics and engineering never would have considered that, and frankly, I think we both panicked and didn't even think about trying to manually start it. To make matters worse, the compartment that held the bullhorn behind the seat would not open, so there was no way for me to make enough noise to draw the attention I needed. There was no way for me to open and stay upright on the Jet Ski. We had to wait around for the rental place to collect their jet ski; when they found it, it was sitting vertical, with the steering column up against the bars being beaten repeatedly thrown against the rocks by the waves. There was a nice sized hole in the plexi glass bottom and had collected a lot of water inside, but due to the large hole, it drained in minutes. Needless to say, I was thoroughly traumatized by the situation and dreaded when anyone asked me how my birthday went because I could only think about getting the flu and the Jet Ski accident. The damage to the Jet Ski totaled some $2,400, but we had to put the original damage estimate on our credit card which was $3,500 plus the cost of the 3 rentals. We obviously hadn't planned for that kind of added cost for our trip and that sucked, but what sucks more is that it has taken them just about 2 months now to give us the remaining $1,100 back that wasn't used for the repair. I basically own a Jet Ski that I'll never get to ride. I'm not saying that the owner isn't a nice guy, because my husband called him today and he was appalled by the fact that we had not yet been reimbursed. However, as we are the only lucky recipients of the freak accident award that they have ever heard of and the fact that the money owed was such a large amount, isn't this something that demands a little more attention? I don't want to scare you all away from riding Jet Skis, but I'd like you to take this away from my story of financial tragedy and emotional distress: * Don't go Jet Skiing when the weather is turbulent, especially very windy; this can cause large, choppy waves and increase the likelihood that you will have issues returning to the vessel in case you get tipped over. *Secondly, I advise you to always wear your life vest since you never really know when something as ridiculous as this will occur and you don't want to take that chance with your life or the life of a loved one. *Also, if you are going to engage in water sports, it may help for you to be a strong swimmer as well as how to navigate undertow. *Always make sure the equipment on your Jet Ski is completely functional i.e. the key having a flotation strap, being able to access the emergency horn and if anything is not right, don't take it out. *Consider getting watercraft insurance if you don't have the funds to pay for damages on the spot. Lastly, before you leave, always ask if there is a way to start the Jet Ski without a key in case of an emergency. I strongly feel that it was the responsibility of the renters to divulge this information, but they said that they have never had this issue before; plus, they added, that they would not want everyone to know how to start them without keys because they believe theft would increase. I also believe it is their responsibility to lock up their watercraft so that they don't get stolen without relying on keeping the emergency start information a secret. All in all, this wasn't a bad place to rent from; we just had a really bad experience. It was all the small things that added up that created disaster in the end. I suppose the conditions we just right for it. If I can help just one person from this review or save one life, then my goal has been accomplished. Please be careful and conscientious when you go out on the water and be a knowledgeable renter. I'll leave you with one last thought that I learned from my experience. If something isn't meant to be, don't force it; you'll get bad results.

This place is going down hill fast. I've been coming here for years, since I think around 2008,…read moremaybe longer. You would come in, pick your site, let the ranger station know and you were done. Now, since a couple months ago, they changed it to where "a computer" would pick your site for your, which would be good if all the sites were the same, but they definitely are not! Some sites are paved, some are rock, some long or short, some easy to get into, some not. They basically took your choice away! Before, if you got here and all the "good" sites were taken, that's the luck of the draw. Both times since they changed to this I've had to ask to change the site, first time, I couldn't get into the site if I wanted to. Second time they put us in a site we definitely did not want. Now, they put up a sign no drinks in the edge of the pool, no exceptions! A lot of people go to the pool, stand at the side, drink whatever it is, chill and have a good time. So now that choice has been taken away. I can understand glass containers, glass and pools don't mix, so punish those people! We have loved this place for years, but it's getting to where we don't like coming here anymore. Some of the employees are nice, some not so much. Some of the employees seem extremely lazy and are just here to talk and play. Mean while, the speed limit is 5 mph, I've seen people doing I think around 25 or 30. People have their kids and dogs walking around the park and I haven't seen much to stop that. But standing around the pool drinking whatever and having a good time, the managers said shut it down! I really don't know what's happening here. Just think hard before buying a membership. The memberships can cost thousands of dollars and they can make changes anytime, whether you like it or not, and you either have to deal with it or get rid of it. They don't care what you think! Anyway, have a good day.

The grounds were well cared for and it was not crowded, even though it was spring break. My friend had to meet us at the resident center to get us a visitor badge. We had a two bedroom cabin and had plenty of space for a nice fun friends weekend. Each bedroom had queen/full beds and there was a full sized refrigerator. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, plates, cups and bowls. There was a coffee maker and oven. The bedrooms were spacious and restroom well stocked with toiletries and towels. We should have gotten charcoal to make burgers on the grill. The dining room and living room had enough space for us to spread out. The WiFi was very good, some of us had work and school so needed connections. They have a new swimming pool and club house that was not there last time we visited. The doors have a key fob that goes on your wrist, no keys to lose. We saw deer prancing across the field as we left.
