DO NOT GO KNOTTY SALON!!!FIRST OF ALL ITS A BOOTH RENTAL(The owner can't help you if someone screws up). SECOND ITS AaRON FROM KNOTTY SALON I am so disappointed in Aaron from the Knotty Salon. I sit down with Aaron explain to him how much I love my long hair and went into great details about how I would like it to look, I even showed him a picture of how I like it styled.  He asks me to point out how much I want taken off so I show him with with my fingers it was about two inches or less. I made it Very clear two inches and that I DO NOT LIKE SHORT HAIR. You would think a hair stylist would understand the difference between two inches and six. This man took 8 inches off the length of my hair and cut my hair behind my back so I could not tell how much was taken off. I guess he knew he screwed up because my hair is curly and I told him I like it curly but I knew something was up when he started to blow-dry and straighten my hair before flipping it over to the front. I was in disbelief and total shock when I saw how much he took from my hair that I love so much.  I feel like this man took apart one of the things that made me like myself. He argued with me, while I was crying he told me that at least I look pretty. Is not about how he think I should look his job is to cut my hair the way I want! not the way he want.  I cried as he made me pay and ran out. After a day of crying I was ready to talk to him and try to figure out what he could do to rectify the butchering of my hair. He apologized, refunded me but then ended with "would you like to get the courts involved" I never wanted to get the courts involved in this, I just want him to help me get back what he took. He recognized the mistake but offered no solution for ignoring what I want my hair to look like and just did his own thing. After nothing was offered, I tried to come to a middle ground with him and offered to pay for the hair extensions if he would handle the labor to put them in. He turned down my offer and just continued to tell me he is sorry about it. He was just deflecting from the massacre that he performed on my hair. I do not recommend going to see Aaron for he will cut your hair the way he wants it and if you don't like it then he will offer you to get the courts involved. Unprofessional and no remorse or actions toward a mistake that he made and just said deal with it or go to the court. This is warning to all the girls out there who love there hair and don't want to go into this place thinking they will have a great hair cut and end up with half there hair cut off by a guy who clearly doesn't understand how much our hair means to us and our image. I have been struggling with this for a week and multiple break downs because I feel half of my essence is gone and I look way older with this hair cut. I did not want to write this review but his attitude towards the situation and unwillingness to correct his mistake. INSENSITIVE AND JUST HORRIBLE HAIR STYLES, also he cut my hair uneven. I initially was looking to book w/Troy when I called The Knotty Salon & was shocked when told he had passed. He was such a sweet person - & had found his calling because he was a master with red hair color! Kara (the owner) offered to cut & color me. The cut she gave me was excellent & tho the color wasn't red like the photo I showed her I was satisfied because I figured she would get it right next month. The following month I asked her to take a 1/4" off her original cut & make the red brighter. I don't know what happened, but I ended up looking like a chia pet (actually could see a portion of scalp!) & had choppy places, the red still not bright, & she completely missed coloring my temples. The fix when I returned 7 days later - she blended the choppy spots the best she could with the hair I had left & colored my temples - a completely different red! Now my head is 2 different shades of red, & neither are the correct shade. Talk about jacked up hair! I don't know what her problem is, but I'll never return or recommend. Sooo much wasted money to ruin my hair! read more

This review is for CYNTHIA at the Knotty Salon. If I could leave a negative star review I would. The most unprofessional stylist encounter I have ever had in my entire life, and I've had a lot of encounters! I thought it would be wise to try out a new stylist with a groupon I purchased since I am new in town..., turns out I was terribly WRONG! I was treated poorly from the get go and seemed impossible to get in. Once I finally secured an appointment it was cancelled the evening before due to an emergency. Being a mom of two I completely understand emergencies so I let it slide. Fast forward to my next appointment.... I never received confirmation an felt weird so reached out and she confirmed it. I pulled my oldest son out of school earlier to drive him and his younger brother to the babysitter which I had already paid for and received a text that her appointment cancelled so I would need to move to another day. WHAT?! Who does that to a paying customer? May I add- this is two weeks away from my wedding and I desperately needed my hair done and I was looking for a long term stylist relationship. When I told her I was confused why we were cancelling she told me she can cancel when she wants or I can go to another salon. Absolutely terrible customer service skills Miss Cynthia and I will make sure others are warned of your unprofessionalism. She had taken me on a wonderful journey with my hair. So many different colors and styles. A very creative and open soul. The Knotty Salon is lucky to have Miranda as a hair dresser and team member. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience! I called TKS on Sunday in hopes for an appointment that day. I reached Kara and she took some immediate steps to see if they could help that day but were booked up. She then had Aaron reach out to me directly - he called and then sent a text which I appreciated. He got me scheduled for a couple of days later and also helped me get my husband scheduled. We had our appointment tonight and they were both great! My husband is very picky and he loves his cut (so do I!) and Kara was extremely affordable for a very good men's cuts. Aaron helped me bring my non-shaped and stringy hair back to life and gave me a wonderful blow dry that helped make it full and healthy.
