When Cheron called me at 9:10 I immediately apologized and even offered twice to reschedule if that was easier. Instead she just asked for my ETA in an irritated tone and said she'd see me soon. From the minute I got there the whole appointment felt tense. I asked for a simple trim, some face framing pieces, and something low maintenance since I don't spend a lot of time styling my hair. It didn't feel like a difficult request but I felt like my preferences were an inconvenience. Even the shampoo was so rough it was uncomfortable instead of relaxing. The haircut itself turned out nice but what really shocked me was the finish. I paid $150 and expected at least a basic styling. Instead, my hair was blow dried with her fingers... no round brush, no comb, no straightener, no curls. Nothing. I genuinely couldn't believe that was the finished result. I'm happy I ended up with a decent haircut but the overall experience felt uncomfortable from start to finish and nowhere near the level of service I expected.

Owned by two awesome young women, Kaylan and Heather, who always make sure their customers are completely satisfied, Crabapple Hair Studio manages to keep its prices very reasonable considering its proximity to downtown Roswell. A basic women's wash and cut is $25, and the salon often runs Groupons so that first-time customers can get their cut for free. That's an incredible deal! The salon itself has four chairs and a small waiting area. The floor is hardwood and I've never seen the stylists' work stations looking less than immaculate. All the clients I see leaving look terrific and have satisfied smiles on their faces to boot. I've seen Heather multiple times now for both cuts and color, and I have never left unhappy. She takes special care to explain the process, making sure that I know what she's doing so I can easily recreate looks at home.
