What a great hidden gem at the top of the mountain. Lots of yarn choices and the young woman who runs the place was very helpful.

The town is absolutely charming but what caught my attention was Sierra Chef. We made our way to the door and I was immediately in heaven as we entered the building. The store was filled with amazing Italian food items including pastas, sauces, and cheeses. There were chef prepared dinners for you to order to take home. Italian pastries and gelato tempted us. I gave in and ordered a pistachio gelato which was divine. My husband ordered a cookie and espresso which he said was perfectly prepared. I wish we would have had more time at Sierra Chef because we would have ordered more food items to try. The next time we are in the area, we will be making a stop to pick up some tasty treats!

The minute we walked inside the smell of baked pastries, cookies, and sweet & savory treats permeated the store. Ahhhh... Sierra Chef also offers cooking classes for adults and children in their commercial kitchen. Saw a few ladies behind the counter taking the class and having fun at the same time while I perused through the items offered... some fun handcrafted kitchen items laid out on the back table. We were just looking for dessert since we already had brunch across the street at the Flutter & Buzz Cafe. I asked for gelato and chose dark chocolate flavor. Waited while the employee went towards the back to scoop our ice creams. I had no idea how huge the servings were when she handed the cups to me. I should've just asked for one cup to share. It was delicious though. We sat and enjoyed them outside at their outdoor patio. The weather was beautiful and perfect for gelato. Mangia Bene! Review #3734

Larissa of Papercake Designs was terrific to work with. She did such a fabulous job on or wedding…read moreinvitations, and we got a lot of compliments on them from our guests, that we asked her to create a lot of other things for the event, including menus, escort cards, table cards, welcome sign, party favor jar labels and framed drink, dessert and hors d'oeuvres menus. She was prompt and professional and worked with us to get the exact right design that we wanted for everything. For certain events, you want so much to go right and you want to be able to express your own style and personality in all the details. Larissa's great work allowed us to do this with every design that she worked on with us. We can't recommend her talent and professionalism and the care she puts into her work and into ensuring that it gets delivered on time highly enough! Thank you, Larissa! :)

If you actually need more information (geez), keep reading. From the beginning, Larissa was the most consistently easy and fun part of our wedding planning process. We contacted her and set up a time to meet - in a cafe in Dogpatch. She snagged us a table big enough to spread out swatches, past invitations so we had something to go on, wording suggestions, etc etc etc. Being the indecisive (and somewhat uncreative) people we are, my then-fiance and I needed all the visuals to give us that spark. Using Larissa's suggestions, we picked a design and colors, but wanted to make it more personal and tailored to our zoo wedding, so we asked her to add some animal silhouettes to an existing design. Back-and-forth emails - our requests, Larissa's suggestions, sample pdf's for us to approve, wording, escort cards, one layer or two?, dinner icons (we had 2 different kinds of chicken, and she was actually able to clearly make distinctions for our wait staff). Every response was prompt, deadlines were met (even when our RSVP list changed multiple times **in the few days before our wedding**), and payment was a breeze. Practically speaking, Larissa also was able to suggest options that would minimize our postage and minimize our aggravation when stuffing our envelopes. And in the end, we got these beautiful, whimsical yet elegant invitations that got so many compliments from our guests ("That is the cutest invitation I've ever seen!"). We. Loved. Them. LOVED. Products aren't exactly things I'm typically looking for, but it's still fun to look. This little shopping mall is very strange though. We then left to stroll around and maybe come back later, assuming that maybe they are late). An exit was blocked to the parking lot to get into the next few shops right behind so we were going to give up on park there (half the lot or more was empty so shouldn't hurt anyone, you'd think). But this lady in an SUV pulling up started complaining that we can't park there, scolding us. I tried asking why they have the exit right there blocked (which would make it easy to get between the two parking lots) and she repeated herself. I tried again (nicely) an she ignored me. We ended up giving up and just going to get some food and came back to try the pirate shop again, and low and behold, who is the lady behind the counter? The rude one from the SUV outside earlier. We then turned around and left. No reason to support them if they are mean and scolding to customers and show up to work whenever the heck they feel like it. If you want customers, those customers need to be able to feel confident in their attempts to visit. All around bad vibe, sadly. Too bad as a store themed around pirates was more than intriguing. But money better spent elsewhere.
