If you like the French Country decor within the restaurant, you'll enjoyed a stroll through this Shop. Gayle and I came in after a marvelous and happy Family dinner at La Ferme. Although it's small, this Menagerie has many layers including Jewelry, Art, Glass, Pottery, and other gifts for around the home and garden. It all started when Gayle was admiring the necklace that one of our Servers was wearing and ended with our purchase of a few nice glass filament bowls and a ceramic Rooster on a Basket (to put our lemons). A gold-accented bead necklace (by the same jewelry designer) looked amazing on Gayle, but we'll save that somewhat pricey strand for the next special occasion.

The dinner and cocktails are always such a wonderful relaxing time and the meal is so marvelous. You feel as though they just picked all the ingredients right from their garden to put in your special dish made just for you. Gilles and his staff attend to your every need and we would not think of visiting the area without making this one of our stops. I always ask Gilles to open his boutique for me as I love seeing all his new finds waiting for me to take a peek at. I feel as though I am in another world. I am not someone to give out stars willy nilly, but when they are deserved then I dish them out. We eat out a lot and nothing compares to Gilles. I just wish I was closer to his place as I will be there more often. Do yourself a favor when in town and stop by, but give yourself time, make reservations, and get there early. You won't be sorry.

I explained it was a gift for someone, they didn't like it, so they mailed it back to me. By the time I got it, and had a chance to come in again it was a little past the date. I am a local, and I chose to shop local. The tags were still on the item, and I wasn't looking for my money back, but to just exchange for something else. I probably would have ended up spending more. The sales girl said she'd ask the manager to see if it would be ok. She came back and told me she said no. I won't ever be shopping there again!! They have a huge clearance section in the back. If you are looking for scrappy sundresses that are ankle length then you've come to the right place. The place is on the pricey side. It does have unique wares so you have to appreciate that. If you are coming just for this store I don't know where you'd park as there is no street parking or lots that I know of. Maybe park in one of the casinos and walk over. I see parking as an issue in this part of town. For me it's become a walking area for me. We stay at one of the local lodging places when we come to South Lake Tahoe and we park once and walk everywhere. Thus we have no issues shopping at the Heavenly village.

Unlike some shops around Heavenly Village that can feel crowded, this store has plenty of inventory without making you feel cramped. The staff was welcoming, and the fresh scent throughout the store made it an enjoyable place to browse. Cat lovers will also appreciate the fun selection of cat-themed décor and artwork. The prices are a bit higher than chain stores, but the quality and uniqueness make it worthwhile. If you're looking for a memorable gift or something different for your home, Earthbound Trading Co. is absolutely worth a visit.
