I called them up to put together some gift baskets for me and they mailed them to me on time and everything was well packaged and safe. They even included these cute little Lake Tahoe gift tags for convenience. I totally appreciate everything teachers do, but planning for Mother's Day and teacher appreciation all in the same week does make it hard for us busy mamas. The selections here are slanted more towards "girly" selections, which means that Gayle found a few nice gifts and my discoveries were more towards what she might like as future present. There were many options in that department. They had some very nice Christmas items on sale towards the back, but to my surprise, Gayle didn't bite. She told me later that she was tempted, but felt overwhelmed at home with all the Holiday items we already owned. Depending on post-holiday timing of putting everything away (including some thinning of our stuff), I might circle back.

A must see shop and my favorite souvenir from our trip. Everyone in the shop was very helpful and knowledgeable about the product. Prices are on the higher end but you absolutely get what you pay for. The only exception is the stickers and other mass produced products, those seemed to match the price of the art unnecessarily and frustrated the teen shopping with us.

They also had many adorable stuffed animal plushies of alpacas and other canned animals such as capybara and more. The fluffy color alpacas are so soft and adorable, they also had keychain versions near the cashier. Many of the items are priced at a higher price point but they are beautifully crafted and genuinely great art pieces. Was cool seeing a lot of beautiful art showing the lake and other parts of CA and wooden carving pieces with Zelda, Mario, and more.

Although it's small, this Menagerie has many layers including Jewelry, Art, Glass, Pottery, and other gifts for around the home and garden. It all started when Gayle was admiring the necklace that one of our Servers was wearing and ended with our purchase of a few nice glass filament bowls and a ceramic Rooster on a Basket (to put our lemons). A gold-accented bead necklace (by the same jewelry designer) looked amazing on Gayle, but we'll save that somewhat pricey strand for the next special occasion.

You feel as though they just picked all the ingredients right from their garden to put in your special dish made just for you. Gilles and his staff attend to your every need and we would not think of visiting the area without making this one of our stops. I always ask Gilles to open his boutique for me as I love seeing all his new finds waiting for me to take a peek at. I feel as though I am in another world. I am not someone to give out stars willy nilly, but when they are deserved then I dish them out. We eat out a lot and nothing compares to Gilles. I just wish I was closer to his place as I will be there more often. Do yourself a favor when in town and stop by, but give yourself time, make reservations, and get there early. You won't be sorry.
