This is one of the best food trucks in the city! I really enjoyed the flavors. I ate here about 4…read moreweeks ago and I am still talking about that meal. I ordered the carne asada plate. I was considering the quesadilla and the gordita - which I think I will get the next time I come here. But I decided to get the carne aside plate based on a customer's high recommendation. He claims he eats there all the time and he said start with that. So, I trusted him and did. I ordered and waited about 15 or so minutes. In the meantime, my friend pulled up to have lunch with me. There aren't any tables out there; it is just 3 or 4 chairs under a tiny bit of shade. And so, the choice is taking your food to go home/work with or eat it in your car. She called my name and I went to dine in my friend's car. I was able to cut a few pieces of the steak to taste before setting it all up in my tortilla and the meat was so flavorful and juicy!! I cut a few more pieces and put all the ingredients together on my tortilla and oh man, there was like a smokiness to the peppers and the onions added some char to it. I just loved that bite. But the reason I gave 4 stars instead of the 5, is because the meat is so chewy. So much so, that the plastic knife just could not cut through the stringy meat. I realize this isn't filet mignon, but I was sawing through the meat, in the tiny car space, trying the make my meat tortilla, and it was just a struggle. My friend just started using his fingers to pull the meat apart which was messy and not ideal. Like I said, if I was home, I could have used a real knife, but I really think since it is a place where most take it to go back to the office with, the meat should be sliced more so it can be eaten with more ease.

Ordered through Uber Eats. Food was okay. I've had better Birria tacos. Elote was well seasoned.read more

Taqueria Mi Frida - You can call in your order and pick it up. I would imagine this is helpful if you are short on time, as they make everything to order.

I started with their housemade hibiscus margarita with a tajin rim instead of salt. I thought it was good and not too sweet. The tacos, to me, were delicious. I think they have an option for anyone and they have some pretty unique combos. I loved the Korean inspired taco and their classic brisket taco. I did go for the tacos but I did get to try their guacamole and the amazeballs. The guac was not the best and you don't get much -- could've used more seasoning. I liked the amazeballs + they come with a really good chipotle aioli. I think this place has some things to work on while they get situated from reopening but I do think they have some great tacos!

I understand that probably a lot of people do that and look at different places so they don't always order. However, I had to interrupt him to get his attention to place my order for nachos. . I added meat and beans. The taste was different. I can't say that it was good. As I was eating them I found two french fries in my order. To my knowledge don't serve french fries.

It's rare to step into a restaurant before the doors open, an almost behind-the-scenes experience…read more You get to see what makes people tick and who they really are. In the restaurant business, we all have a switch: once the doors open, it flips. Until then, you're seeing people exactly as they are. This team is genuine. Hands down. Yes, I know, I'm technically here for a king cake. Standing in line for a king cake from a famous fried chicken company almost feels satirical. But watching the entire team sit down together for a meal an hour before service told me everything I needed to know about the leadership and the values of this company. People matter here. You can see why the sandwiches are as good as they are. You can feel why the king cake is worth the wait. This team operates like a family; kind to one another, intentional, and connected. The food is made with care because the people are cared for. I'm not here to review the food (which is phenomenal) or the king cake. I'm here to review the brand. This is the kind of business we should be proud to support as a community. Keep it up.

I also like that they feature a daily special that isn't on the regular menu--it adds a nice element of variety. Everything is cooked to order, which is definitely a plus. Just keep in mind that most of the menu is fried, so this isn't the place to go if you're looking for a particularly healthy meal.

I came on Wednesday, which is game night! So. Much. Fun!!! It starts at 7pm, and it's not like your typical trivia. You have to come to understand. The food is so good. I ordered the jerk chicken plate from Johnny's and it was fresh and authentic Jamaican food. You won't be disappointed. I've always thought New Orleans needed more food trucks, and this is a thought. There is a small parking lot in front of the food truck lot, and you can also find parking on the street. Added plus, bottomless mimosas for $13+ tax on Sundays!

Came with rice, plantains and greens. The chicken was on the bone and there were lots of little pieces to pick through. I didn't mind but some may. I came because a friend told me about the snowball truck that has dairy free condensed milk! She mistakenly told me he had a nectar flavor so I had my heart set on that. I ended up with an ice cream flavor with dairy free condensed milk. The condensed milk was delicious! The syrup wasn't as sweet and flavorful as I like my snowballs to be. I would definitely go back to try a different flavor. He makes all of his syrups with natural ingredients and said he may try to figure out a nectar flavor. My biggest complaint and the reason for the less than stellar review was the garbage smell that permeated the area. I tried relocating to three different tables to escape it. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. My best guess is a hidden dumpster somewhere. It was awful and hard for me to enjoy my food when there was a smell of garbage. Lots of space to sit, bathrooms and a bar area for drinks. There was also a live band playing music. It was a nice touch.
