Homemade chips and a delicious side salad
    Steve L.

Took my date to the Kitchen Ink for a bite of lunch. She ordered a Cuban sandwich which came with homemade chips. I ordered the Ranger Rick that is a meatloaf bbq sandwich served with chips and a side. I ordered the side salad and I could not believe how fresh and delicious that salad was. And my sandwich was fantastic as was my wife's meal. And the service. The server could not have been better. She made our dining experience that much better. The decor is rustic but blends well with what I believe to be an historic building. Highly recommended.

Stone's Meatloaf Dinner. It's hearty and delicious. Give it a go.

The atmosphere is relaxing with a modern/rustic feel. There are touches of art everywhere you look. The food is prepared with care and the tastes are spot on and with the varied menu that's the size it is, that's saying a lot. I'm a local and highly recommend The Kitchen Ink based on food, service and price. Check em out!

With all the construction going on, this was the easiest to get to. We decided to give them a try. First of all the tables were terribly uncomfortable. The service was so friendly though which made our meal nice since we are from out of town. I wish I could say we all loved our meal, but we really didn't. The hamburgers were just ok, even though they are made with grass-fed beef. The French fries weren't memorable. The hot chicken was tough because it was over cooked. It tasted great though, just hard to eat. The street corn pasta was wonderful! And so were the house made potato chips. We wanted so bad to love it. I hope my review will help them improve. Hot Springs needs a good restaurant.

    Bison tenderloin & steamed veggies

We've eaten here a few times. The dinner menu has more gluten-free options than lunch, though I did have a modified chicken "sandwich" on a salad for lunch and it was delicious! The first thing I ate there was bison tenderloin and steamed veggies. Plain, but I don't like my food over-seasoned so felt it was good. The bison was perfectly cooked. I also judge a place on its water and this is some of the best water you'll find in Hot Springs, next to the actual springs water, that is! Ultra filtered and fresh. As you wait for your food look around... you'll be quite entertained by the art in that place! It's definitely a fun atmosphere. The only negative I'd say is they recently lost their manager, who was excellent. It will be interesting to see how their service is without her... she worked her tail off for them and really helped establish their excellent service!

We were visiting family and this was the only open spot in town. It was so good! We ordered a grilled cheese, and the turkey dinner since Thanksgiving was close. The services was great too. The prices are a little high for Hot Sprlngs but would recommend!

    Chicken Salad

WOW! This place hit the spot. The Chicken Salad on a bed of mixed greens was filled with goodness-grilled chicken, raisins, carrots, grape tomatoes, pecans, feta, and balsamic vinaigrette on the side. In addition, I asked for red onions. It could not have been a better salad. All the ingredients were fresh as they could be. Hubby had the cheeseburger and fries and said it was excellent. Waiter was friendly and attentive. Just right. Next time you're in or around Hot Springs (SD), give it a try. I think you'll be glad you did.

Stumbled upon this place. You can tell it's brand new. The menu is limited but sufficient. I ordered the meat loaf sandwich, my sister ordered the chicken. Both were excellent. The sauce on my meat loaf had a very unique flavor. Like bbq maybe prepared with some wine? But it was really good. The homemade chips were a bit over cooked to the point of being bitter, but the street corn salad was a delight. Kids choices included a breakfast for $3.99!! Both kids ordered that and it was great. Eggs, a THICK strip of bacon toast and hash browns. Great deal. Everything was very nicely presented on the plate. Will definitely eat here again.

We went on a Sunday and I honestly think we just timed it wrong - got behind two large groups with 9 people each. The tables are a tight squeeze for more than 4 people but the decor is cute. The one waitress/hostess was very efficient and friendly - she also have us a discount because it was over an hour from order to food arrival (my kids were about to lose it, but then the mozzarella sticks came out). The kids had burgers. Husband had the Cuban, fries and chips were good. I had the BLT which was overall good (but no tomatoes - I didn't complain about it but I think the waitress would have gotten me some tomatoes if I had). She was really working her butt off - and the food itself was tasty, I highly recommend the potato salad as a side. Drinks in mason jars were cute and she was attentive to refills.

Good food, efficient staff. Seating leaves something to desired, but I'm picky. Fries are the best, right mixture of soggy and crispy.

While it can be a little slow, especially if there's a line of people, the staff ensures everything is cooked to perfection and care is taken with top quality fresh ingredients (reflected in the taste!). I know people have complained about it being an 18+ age requirement due to the spa, and I can tell you as someone that's interrupted many times by screaming children whose parents are anything BUT attentive, interrupting an otherwise glorious meal, I'm GRATEFUL for this rule! I agree with other reviewers that it should be disclosed on their website, but people need to realize this is INSIDE a "Quiet voices required" spa environment (a simple Google search will reveal this fact) and children are typically anything but quiet... They're KIDS, and I honestly don't know why anyone would bring kids here anyway since the food is quite pricey (worth it!) and they have no children's menu. Overall this has become one of my favorite local restaurant and I aim to eat here a few more times before we leave the area for our next destination.

Service was really good from the time I called to be added to the waitlist to our hostess all the way to our server. The food came out at a reasonable time. Ordered: -Kids spaghetti -Kids cheeseburger and fries -Ribeye- a little chewier but still a great cut. -Prime rib made perfectly very flavorful I was super surprise and highly recommend prime rib if you are a prime rib fan. It comes with two sides which I got to pay extra and ordered the garlic fries. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by here to dine. I have no complaints whatsoever. It was actually the best meal I have had during my visit to this state. When my sister in law recommended this spot, I did not think that I would have enjoyed it as much as I did. Just because there is not much food options in the area and I didn't think that this spot could produce really good food since I am from California and am a foodie. And well Powder House is kinda in the middle of no where. Well, 2 thumbs up from this Yelper. Add this spot to your bookmark and make sure you go! Tips: -Call ahead to be added to their waitlist. -Indoor seating only -Alcohol served here -They have a kids menu -They have their own private parking lot -Credit card accepted -They do charge for splitting plate of eight dollars. -Restroom available. -Very laidback casual atmosphere.
