Previous…read moreaccountants I have worked with have caused unnecessary headaches, inducing stress at the thought of having to now find a new one in my latest place of residence. I met Amy Phillips (the owner) and decided to go ahead and give her firm a try (I had nothing to lose was my line of thinking). I can honestly say I had an amazing experience! Very professional, so speedy, documents were confidentially handled (one of the problems I have had in the past that made me hesitant in the first place in my search), rates were very reasonable, and Amy was very clear in addressing all of my questions, prompted me for information I hadn't initially given that was worth noting, etc. Overall, I am glad to say my anxieties and concerns have been overcome and I don't have to worry about who will handle my taxes in the future. I'll be using Phillips, CPA!

Thanks for allowing renters also. That wasn't supposed to happen either. Glad we are selling and out of there!! Also, how about our hoa president letting her boyfriend build our new fence. He tore down the entire fence! It all didn't need taken down. Then the fence they put up is shoddy work and not level. Shouldn't that have been a conflict of interest? They have broken so many rules its hard to keep up. I wanted to wait until we were moving to post this. Just beware if you buy in Truxton Village. Ghertner does not make them enforce anything. Those homes will end up being run down with cars parked everywhere.

Ghertner & Co. has been an absolute failure as a property management company. Communication is…read morenearly nonexistent, and when responses do come, they are vague and dismissive. Requests for receipts and proper accounting, especially for Special Assessments, are ignored, and their payment portal provides almost no usable information. They double charged the Special Assessment in January 2026, billing $312.06 instead of the correct $156.03. Manager T. Putnam consistently offers no details, no timelines, and no accountability. Major projects are mismanaged, including a mailbox construction on Alteras Drive that has been torn apart for months because required permits were never obtained. Basic maintenance is neglected. As of January 17, 2026, gutters have not been cleaned since Fall 2025. Homeowners are being charged a Special Assessment to paint homes for "damage" that does not exist, despite painting already being funded in the regular budget. HOA fees were raised from $120 to $233 while services for townhomes were largely eliminated. Vendor oversight is just as bad. Roofing work caused holes in multiple roofs, ongoing leaks, and even damaged HVAC lines, forcing one homeowner to replace their system at a cost of $10,000 with no reimbursement. A prior failure to clean gutters led to frozen pipes and a $10,000 insurance claim. This is a pattern of poor planning, lack of transparency, and negligence. If you have a choice, avoid communities managed by Ghertner & Co.

Once was in New York to deposit a check, the other two times were at the Franklin TN office. After my experience dealing with Luke at the front counter in Franklin, I am ready to close my account. I needed to go to the Fidelity office to wire money to Mexico since I am planning to purchase property there. During my first visit, Luke acted like it was a big inconvenience to send the wire. Given the difficulty he was having, I sensed he did not do this often. I returned two weeks later to send money to a different account in Mexico that I would use to purchase the property when it was time to close on the deal. Unfortunately, Luke was still working the counter. This time, he made several odd remarks like : "How many accounts do you have in Mexico". Then he asked what the money was used for because "people" questioned him after the transaction. I said that I told you the purpose during my last visit. Then I asked what he said. He responded "To help a friend in Mexico pay bills". At this point, I was very upset and said no, it was to purchase property. He said, "we'll I didn't remember because I do a lot of wire transfers".. Really, based on his lack of competence, I would say he doesn't do many. I have received far better customer service at banks where I carry a fraction of the amount I have with Fidelity. I see no point doing business with a company that treats its customers so rudely.
