I procrastinated on my taxes again this year…read more... I did a google search for an accountant who specializes in small businesses, and I found McKerley & Noonan. I sent a request through their online form after business hours, and I had a response at 8 AM the next day. I met with Justin, and he was friendly and professional. I told him I had had a bad experience in the past with an accountant charging me hourly and ending up with a huge bill. He agreed to give me a set price and told me about it up front. No hidden fees. I got him my paperwork about 3 weeks before the deadline, and he had everything done within a week. He called with bad news-I owed a TON of money, but he did a great job of helping me find things that I could expense that I missed. He helped reduce what I owed by about a quarter. He helped me file for both my small businesses-real estate and photography, and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend him!

I only learned about it in October from an outside source. I then had to freeze my Social Security number and change 18 bank account numbers to protect myself from identity theft. I provided my tax information with plenty of time to file, but due to last-minute requests and inconsistent instructions, my taxes were ultimately filed late, resulting in approximately $60,000 in delinquency fees and penalties. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this firm.

My accountant is Natalie Hybert, and she is everything an accountant should be: detail-oriented and someone who is able to make deadlines (even when I am less than stellar about achieving these goals). They send out a form at the beginning of the year to fill out that really makes gathering your information easier, and it has questions on it that could translate into deductions you might not have realized you could take. They also e-mail bulletins with information when the tax laws change, which is very helpful. Besides just doing your taxes, they can also help you with estate planning or going over your holdings with a mind to minimizing your taxes. We thought getting the situation resolved would cost us a fortune - and with other companies, it would have. But his cost was extremely reasonable considering all that had to be done. Initially, we had contacted a very popular company that does commercials claiming how they can help you out of an IRS mess. I almost signed on the dotted line, but decided to contact Mr. Taylor first to get his opinion. I'm glad we did because his method of helping his clients was totally different than this popular company where one of their first questions is, "How much do you have saved in your bank account". Mr. Taylor's integrity was one of the biggest factors that made us go with his company, and his skills and knowledge of taxes are what make us remain. My family is very pleased with his services and I am confident that anyone who employs his services will be equally as pleased. If you contact him, you'll immediately see what I mean. Thank me later!
