There were 9 of us, most of which have been to an aquarium before.... we ranged from 5 to 70+ years old! It took us about 2.5 hours to see all the winter time exhibits. Which is plenty of time for a 5 and 6 year old! Definitely does need some touch up in the cosmetic department but overall it was a great experience. I really loved how they had various "touch pools" where the kids could touch the different sea things, from shark casings to manta rays! Absolutely amazing! My son was really disappointed though the main thing he wanted to see was an octopus, while they had 2 of them they both were extremely small. Which a full grown octopus is probably dangerous, or even hard to upkeep it would have been nice to see one that was slightly bigger. They do require you to wear a mask and overall the exhibits and guests do pretty well with social distancing except under the shark exhibit..... it gets pretty crowded in there. We got to see a Sea Lion show which was amazing! Highly enjoyed that, it's so amazing that they're able to train the Sea Lions to do all kinds of cool stuff. I mean I've seen Free Willy and various other movies before so I knew it was possible but it's a whole different thing to see it in person lol! I do recommend if they're not going to have staff at all of the exhibits to put signs up that say "please don't tap on the glass" because I guess not everyone has seen Free Willy or even Finding Nemo.... I had to tell a grown person not to top on the glass and he's like "why?" I'm like would you want someone to keep knocking on your door or window?! Like come on people! They also have animals that don't live in the water like Marmosets! (My favorite animal by the way). As well as other monkeys! They even have butterflies! The butterfly exhibit is really cool! Definitely check that out! TWO butterflies landed on me! I guess I'm extra lucky.

The touch pond in the entrance was awesome. Loved the butterfly room. We went in the winter so I can see how in the summertime it would be even better. The parts I was disappointed by was; the aquarium experience is pretty small. And the whole facility needs to be updated...it seems like it was in great shape ten years ago but now needs some real attention. Also disappointed in the fact that in the sea lion show, they talk about using reusable water bottles instead of single use plastic to help save sea life (GREAT MESSAGE) and then have only ONE water fountain and it's not even in the aquarium, it's once you exit. So overall it was fun, my son enjoyed it, but it's in desperate need of an update.

Where Genovese Drugs had fulfilled the needs of humans, Pet Supplies has fulfilled the needs of their pets. This pet store features aisles of dog, cat, and pets essentials, live fish, small animals, and reptiles, a grooming salon, and more. My Dad and step-mom have been here many times for the needs of Shane, the family labradoodle. On some of their visits, they have picked up Blue Buffalo and used the grooming salon to trim his fur. When my Dad and step-mom are away, Shane is uncomfortable around strangers. During the recent grooming session, Shane was acting up causing it to end early. Their groomers were professional and refused to charge my Dad and step-mom for their time. The first of my three visits here was with my dad to pick up Blue Baffalo for Shane. After this visit my Dad told me about the cute kittens up for adoption. This is what brought me here two more times. On my second visit the kittens were adopted. On my third visit here, when I walked inside then made a right and proceeded past the front registers, my heart melted when I saw the black kitten in the cage. It was so tempting for me to walk out of here adopting the kitten. Unfortunately, I live approximately 3,000 miles away. This is a pet friendly store where customers can walk around with their dog. I walked around here with my step-mom and Shane. Shane even befriended a feret up front. From the two times that stopped by here, I find it kind of neat that there is a superstore appearance at the same time there is a mom and pop vibe. The employees here were friendly. One of the women working in the back asked to say "hi" to Shane. The store is an enjoyable place to browse. I enjoyed looking at the kittens for adoption, the live fish, reptiles, and small animals. I also enjoyed watching the dog explore a store that was the equivalent to me exploring Toys R Us when I was a child. Seeing him look at the aisle of bones was like seeing me walk through an aisle of Hot Wheel cars during my childhood. As far as value, the price is most likely going to be higher than the chain discounter. However, there is the value of the Community having a mom and pop pets superstore where decisions are made locally instead of at some faraway corporate office. The mom and pop running Pets Supplies Plus Lake Ronkonkoma are obviously doing something right since they have been in business since 2010 and I am the latest of several Yelpers giving them Four Stars.

My husband and I have been discussing getting another dog (we currently have a female 5 yr old lab/retriever mix) for at least about 6 months - he had his heart set on a Husky and I had my heart set on a German Shepard. I kept googling to look for puppies and Island Puppies kept popping up. I checked out their website and really liked what I read and saw. I sent an email asking if they happened to have any husky/Shepard mixes and to my surprise - they did! Chris was in contact with me, showing me the different puppies available. All of a sudden- we found "Cooper"! After discussions with Chris (he was patient and answered all my questions - I never once felt rushed, pressured, or anything negative), Greg brought Cooper over our house about a week later. If I thought Chris was thorough and patient, Greg was 10 times more! He was informative and helpful, and answered all the questions we had. Even though we have a dog and I grew up with dogs, Greg still had so much information and helpful hints to offer He also offered a "puppy start kit" - food, vitamins, medicine, as well as a "health warrantee/guarantee". Greg and his team want to help any way they can, and be there to answer any questions or concerns we have after getting Cooper. What I really liked was the whole concept behind Island Puppies - they want to help create a less stressful transition for the puppies from mom/litter to loving homes and leave the puppy stores out of it. Cooper is a healthy, sweet, smart, adorable 10 weeks old puppy who has brought even more love to our home. I highly recommend Island Puppies and would certainly work with them again.

The entire staff is super friendly, and the doctors are fantastic. I also use the grooming services, and fortunately enough, my experiences have always been great. Ashley is excellent, and my puppy enjoys being groomed. The store itself is always stocked, and the associates are always friendly, providing great insight when needed. Unfortunately, not all Petco stores are designed with services and staff in mind. However, this location, in my opinion, should be used as the model. Regarding Vital care, I was never forced, and it does pay off to purchase. Would you please keep in mind that vital care should not be considered dog insurance. It compliments your insurance. Meaning it does not cover shots etc. It covers the examination fee of 60.00 and also provides discounts on grooming, and gives you 10.00 of credit each month towards Petco rewards. Please read before you purchase and don't assume. I highly recommend this location, and I'm only speaking based on my experience.
