I stopped by Barnes & Noble recently looking to find books written by or about American war heroes…read more-- real stories of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism. To my disappointment, there was barely a trace. No section dedicated to military history from a personal, boots-on-the-ground perspective, and very few titles focused on the men and women who've actually defended this country. Meanwhile, there were entire tables and shelves devoted to identity politics -- including sections focused entirely on LGBTQ+ themes and narratives about racism, particularly centered on white guilt or privilege. I'm not saying those stories don't deserve space, but the complete lack of balance is frustrating. Our veterans and fallen heroes deserve to be remembered, read about, and celebrated. They shouldn't be buried behind bestsellers that push one side of the story while ignoring the people who made it possible for us to live freely and have these conversations in the first place. I expected more from a national bookstore. At the very least, give us a section that honors real American courage.

I am so glad that I decided to drive around the plaza to see what new stores were in place. Sure enough, found this AMAZING bookstore. I was so blown away by the variety of genre there was. It had all kinds of gadgets, 3D puzzles, and really cool Japanese trinket and supply things. They have a vast selection of Pop Mart stuff animals, Manga gallery, and anime. Its like a anime fan's dream. Was going to suggest a coffee and ramen shop, but they both exists when you walk out and just a couple steps away from the bookstore. Additionally, the member is claiming the package never showed in her Informed Delivery for any of the 14 scans it had throughout its travels. I'm being told if I purchased postage through paperbackswap.com I would've received the credit. There is a significant markup to buying postage through them; so because they didn't make any money from the transaction a long standing user is being punished for a newer member defrauding the system.

Plenty of space for Christians though... new age books and items are up front in this side obscure area near the cafe like they are trying to hide it. Plenty of toys and novelty items and games to look at. Funko pops (which I look at). It feels like FYE fused with what was left of a bookstore and just was like "we must do this to survive" energy. So I went to buy some books for my home- and asked if they have The alchemist by Paulo Coelho. The employee who assisted me was really nice explained the pricing on books and everything. Then said yes I think we might have that book. She asked the gentleman at the check out area - and he seemed upset - said we don't carry any books by that author. It seemed like there is sone huge censorship or dislike for certain authors at this store. It made me feel very uncomfortable. The other side of the store is now selling honey, oils , different teas etc. My son tried the whipped honey and fell in love with it, and I bought a bottle of thar honey. Overall, I think it's a decent book store but you might not find certain authors, not sure what basis they are doing different censorship.
