If you are a book lover, and have the love of reading, you will naturally tune in to places with books; I'm one of those people who loves reading - I go through 80 -100 books a year. My son and I first came to this store 5 years ago, after relocating to Atlanta from Seattle. It has bargains to die for. The option to order and have a rare book got for you, is what drew me here. I came in today, looking for The Thorn birds and Hemmingway's For whom the bell tolls. Both were available is soft cover, but I, want then in hard cover for my home library. So they have them in order now. The service team is very helpful and attentive They have reading areas where one can sit and quietly read, the children's section is quite charming. Fantastic used and new bookstore. They will allow you to trade in books which are in-demand and then you can use store credits to pay for 50% of the cost of used books. Half the store is new, half is used books. They also have a great selection of gifts and stickers. The staff is very knowledgeable and can place orders for books if they don't already have them. The one time I did this, they got the book within a couple of days. They will also assist you in finding rare lists by calling you if they get in a book you are looking for. read more

The store basically has paperback books. There are hardcovers, but 10 to 1 paperback. Staff are exceptionally friendly and very helpful.

This place is AWESOME!! ( " 0") Like WOW!! They take used books and you can get a discount for used books in the store! They also have LGBTQ section in front. They also had a banned book (and I bought it)! Certainly coming back!! As a bonus, there were Girl Scouts selling cookies outside! What a great combo: books and cookies! Also for the couples and groups, you can rent out this bookstore on their website on Fridays starting at $50! Isn't that cool?! I have been bringing and buying my books here for about 15 years. My son and I went in the other day to get some books and found that my account that HAD close to $300 or more credit is now ZERO. I asked how that could happen and they told me that there hadn't been any activity since 2019. I never received an email, phone call, letter or even text saying that inactivity could cause the account to lose all money in it. With Covid and everything that was going on at the time, I can honestly say this was not a place I was coming to or considered my credit would be in danger. It never occurred to me that anything would just be gone, especially without any notice. I had come in from time to time when things were all open again, but not finding anything I was interested in, so I went to library. I had been much more regular with bringing in books and buying books when my children were smaller and we certainly have gone long periods of time without coming in and never had anything happen before, so it never occurred to me to check. Not only was I told that it was in there rules somewhere that I didn't even know about, but when I asked how come no one notified me, I was rudely told that if they spent their time notifying people that their accounts were inactive for too long of a period of time, they wouldn't get anything else done. I am by no means a computer genius, but I know for a fact they could have it in their system to automatically detect inactivity and send out an automated notice to warn people. I think they just saw it as a way to have made money and hope that no one notices. They said their general practice is if your account is inactive for one year, you lose all of your credit and they will not warn you. She said I should've come in and at least bought a piece of candy or some thing just to keep my credit! I really miss the ladies that used to run this place because it hasn't been the same since they've been gone. I love to support small businesses, but this was just taking advantage of people after Covid, and not having any common decency. I think I will just donate my books from now on and either get books from the library or buy them new. read more

It in addition to all the great books they have lots of cool gifts for friends and the staff there is really nice and helpful. Let me be perfectly honest, these folks do NOT want your used books. Now I never post reviews like this, I just figure someone is having a bad day, whatever, and move on. Life is too short. But these folks are off the hook. So I came in a few weeks back to donate a large number of books. Giving them to this business for free. I was told I needed an appointment. So I'm there, at their store, with a heavy a$$ box of their livelihood, but they ain't having it. Fine, I say, being a rule following suburbanite conformist. I was a bit taken aback, since this had never been necessary before, the many times I'd donated books in the past. However, I hadn't been there in a few years, COVID, riots, looting, cancel culture, whatever. I made my appointment, came back a week later and gave them the books. I had accumulated a small additional box, and figured I'd go back today, 3/22/24. So I called last night, to get an appointment, like a dutiful customer. When I estimated it at ten books (it was actually 8) the cheerful young lady on the phone told me, "you don't need an appointment for so few items". Au contrare! So I show up the next morning. The girl at the counter is busy on her phone, but I assume she's getting paid, so I venture in. "Do you have an appointment?" she asks. "No" I say, "I was told last night when I called here that for about ten books I didn't need an appointment" Now, to me, that should have been the end of it. I called to get an appointment, and was told it wasn't necessary. I didn't ask the neighbor, or the library, or the clerk at the Michaels next door...I got this from another store employee. Counter girl comes back with "The limit is actually six books, but okay". I let this slide. Life's too short. So we walk over to where they keep the incoming stuff, and she comes back with "That information is also on our website". Okay, I think...why would I need to check the website if I spoke to an employee within the last 24 hours? I'm pretty sure those calls aren't going to a call center in India, so I doubt there's a misunderstanding. I'm pretty sure the girl on the phone did NOT say "arrive without an appointment at your own risk! So when I begin to mention this, she talks over me and says "Do you want to keep the box"? She goes on with this two or three times, talking over me, trying to ask at this point do they really even want the books. Finally, I say, "I'll just keep them". She says "fine". I leave the store. I never lost my temper, raised my voice, or cursed, although all three occurred to me. However, as I walked to the car, it also occurred to me "life is still too short"....but this isn't worth it. I walk back in. Counter girl doesn't look up...on her phone again. Okay, fine. I say, "I'd like to close my account. I don't intend to set foot in here again". No apology, no nothing, just "that's fine". Well, then she asks if I'm sure, because I have $360+ dollars worth of credit at the store! Well, the wife took our quaint little home library for an office, and most books I read I get on my tablet these days...I love to read, but why cut trees. Save the world, etc. Who needs it? I ask her if she understands why I'm upset. She says "I can see you're upset". "I'm sorry you are upset". Not "I'm sorry I was rude" or "I'm sorry my phone is more important than my customers" or anything like that. It's more like "I'm sorry your an old pain in my a$$ that wants to take up my time breaking the six book rule and be treated politely".... I told her to donate my $360 worth of credit to their teachers fund. I won't be back. If giving to their business is appreciated in this fashion..."Life's too short." I'm pretty sure this is the only local bookstore in the area and it's definitively worth checking out if you like to read. Everyone who works here is super sweet and more than happy to help out. Books are nicely organized by genre and age group. They have a combination of new books and used books, which are marked cheaper. You can donate your books for store credit. With COVID-19, they have precautions set for book donation. You need to go on their website and make an appointment if you want to donate books. Great how they're taking extra measures! Overall, the bookstore is cute, clean, and well organized with a great staff! read more

I love independent book stores. I love USED bookstores. and this combines them both. They had a great selection of unique items, gift items and books! Oh the books! That wonderful musty smell that precipitates paper bound in paper! It is just -that- exciting! I wandered around as I waited for my friend to check out at Michaels. I noticed that there were books in bags, and the bags were titled "Blind date with A book" what a great idea! The only reason I didn't buy anything was that the two young women behind the counter were doing "Twilight" trivia. No thank you! *grin* read more

Very cool used bookstore. Especially for kids who may only need a book for a project during one semester. You can call them and ask if they have the book in stock. If so, they'll hold it for you, which is convenient. My family and I are a bunch of readers. We love books: used books, new books, bookstores, libraries, etc. In the days of digital books, e-books, and online books there's just something about having a physical book in your hand. Paper. If you have lots of books that you'd like to see go to a good home, many of them, I'm sure, they can take and resell. This is my favorite bookstore, I come here whenever I can. They have an amazing collection, especially of F&SF stuff surprisingly. The staff is great and comfortable. This was actually the first place I went to when I was comfortable enough to go into a store for longer than a few minutes during the pandemic and, though not necessarily because of the store itself, that really helped me in my mental state at the time. The place is small and selection is limited but I circled it at least 4 times in search of audiobooks I was told they had. Might've found them with some help. The customer service in this place is AMAZING! I saw a book for my boyfriends birthday and shame on me waited till the last min to purchase it. It was so last min that I had to call and have him pick up the book. Well, Ann was so helpful. I described the book and gave her the title and she quickly found it. I asked her if she could wrap it in something so that when he picked it up he didn't see what it was. She did! I had banned my boyfriend from the bookstore till after his birthday, and I told her that. When he picked it up they we're very nice and told him not to peak, and even teased that they would staple the bag shut if he did. He was very good and didn't peak and was very happy with the book. He is now able to return and look at all the great Dr. Who things they have. Ann was AMAZING! Kim was also great as she reached out to me about a book order and kept in great contact with me. First of all my book club gals shop here more than I do...hopefully I can change that. For starters the last time I was in (about 6 mos ago) I was thrown by how rude and dismissive they were when I asked for help looking for a specific book...swore then I wouldn't return. Recently i noticed they were open, not fully but a window. So Yesterday my 9 yr old daughter and I gathered some books to exchange and when we walked near the window her rudeness and disgust that we were there to exchange books was again shocking...isn't that what they do??? We thought maybe they had a bin for books to be placed and sorted at a later date...weren't sure but "virus" doesn't live on surfaces forever LOL!!!! I've had a different experience from the other reviewer of this buisness. I've been going here off and on for about 4+years. I will agree, sales staff hasn't always been the friendliest, but, i think it's a hit or miss with this place. As I've had GREAT customer service and not so great. The book store is very cramped with books overflowing from shelves everywhere. A book lover's dream! They also have some brand new books, which they sell at a discounted price if you can't find a used copy. Usually books that high school kids would need for book reports and such. I would recommened going online or calling ahead to find out their exact book trading in policy, it's been awhile since I've done so. And if they don't take the books in, I know they keep them so that it can be donated to the libraries. They sell a little bit of other odds and ends too, cards, staitionairy, mugs, just a bunch of little things. read more

I have been going to this bookstore for years and absolutely love it. The staff are wonderful and always have great recommendations. I love the set up of the store-if you are bringing your kids in, there are all these little nick nacks to keep them busy-as well as a kids section in the back. I used to have hundreds of dollars worth of credit but have not been as good about returning the books I've read. You are able to get 50% off books if you have credit--which is the best pricing I have found ANYWHERE. Do yourself a favor and come here-seriously. I seriously wish all bookstores would put books on their sides so you can read them easily like Read It Again so I don't have to crane my neck and walk out with a headache. I love this store even though the service is pretty dicey the last time I went in no one was even behind the counter. The selection of books is great I'm not really sure about the membership aspects and all since I'm very attached to my library and do not fancy the idea of bringing my books back for store credit although it might not be a bad idea for some. It is a bit crowded with books and knickknacks overflowing pretty much everywhere but they have a good mix of the new and used and some great classics for decent prices (used that is). BOOKS AREN'T JUST ON LINE! This is a cute little bookstore and perfect for parents with little ones. They have a cute little reading circle in the back and scheduled story time. It reminds me of living in a small town and visiting the "downtown" bookstore with my own kids. It was a small little shop with a couple of cats who really owned the place. Although books are not purchased, they can be traded for other books and credit. The credit can then be used to receive a discount off of a new book. I have been going to this book store off and on for 4+ years. Originally they were great at finding required school books/novels for my 3 children. If they don't have something you can put your name down and they will call you when the book comes into the store. The store is clean. The staff is odd. Sometimes you get a knowledgeable staff member and sometimes they are rude and more interested in chatting or eating food. Two weeks ago I dropped off about 30 hard cover books. The store was an hour from closing time and they said they are backed up and didn't have time to go through them that day. They asked me to write down my name and phone # on a piece of paper and asked them to call me when they had gone through my books I wanted to sell. Then 2 days later I came down with a terrible cold/bronchitis. Remembering that I had books dropped off at the bookstore was the least of my worries. Then I got a phone call that a hard cover book my daughter was searching for a year ago was available for purchase. I stopped by 10 days after my drop off to pick up the new book and the books they didn't buy from me. Well they donated my books!!!! No phone call, no warning. Nothing. It turns out they accepted 6 of my books. I have no idea which ones. I was planning on giving the ones they didn't want to a local teacher who is in search of books for her classroom as most of my books were for elementary aged children. So I paid for my book on hold for my daughter (personally I think they should have given it to me for free) and they had the nerve to tell me they don't "call" when finished with the "buy". Then why did the associate tell me she would call me when they are finished???? I have sold clothing to Platos closet, Kids R Kids and Uptown Cheapskate and sport items to Play it Again Sports, They CALL you when they are finished going through your items. You fill out a form when you drop off stating if you want to donate or pick up your items not wanted. Read it Again needs a better system. How about a form to fill out with an email or phone # so they can text/email you when they are done? How are you supposed to know when they are done? Am I a mind reader? The sales associate just handed me paper from the cash register receipt for me to write my name and phone # on. The only positive is they have yummy hand-made caramels, funny cards, neat hand-crafted jewelry, nice new items. You can't use your store credit for new items and can only use it for the used books. AND you only get to use half of your store credit. Let's say a book is $8 which was the cost of the used hard cover book I purchased for my daughter; you have to pay $4 of your own money and use $4 of your store credit. Kinda BS. Why can't you just use all of your store credit? So you almost always have a remaining credit if you sell books to them. All in all I will not be going back again even though I still have $30 in store credit. I was so disgusted at the way the store is run and the fact they looked at me like I was an idiot as "they don't call" when they are done looking through your books. Her excuse was the girl that was working the Sunday I dropped them off was probably not the same girl working the next morning. I even confirmed with my daughter and she said "yes, they said they would call". read more

i needed two books for my school summer reading list and these people are complete scammers!! first of all, the workers are just snotty and rude and oblivious. they gave me a used book at a dollar less than retail price. idk how other reviewers are saying their books are clean and cheap. this store is overpriced and they don't even claim their OWN books when i tried to trade. hilarious how they said the books condition was not the "best". the books retail for LESS on amazon but they sold me used books for more. ten dollars each, which is also three dollars less than retail. inside the books were annotations, highlighting marks, covered up words from SHARPIE which left marks on many more pages. i am so disappointed i never want to go again. they don't accept returns so i'll only be able to trade for another terrible used book. please don't shop here, go on amazon or something. read more

I'm a sucker for bookstores but this didn't do it for me. The other reviewers are not kidding when they say the people that work here are terribly rude. The woman was three feet from me when I walked in, made direct eye contact and just stared. No hello, nothing. They do have an abundance of books which was nice, especially if you aren't looking for anything specific. I found a book I wanted but it was list price $5.99 on "sale" for $4 and in terrible shape.
