Yes there are still book stores... believe it or not!…read more I like going into a book store. I don't have a lot of time to read these days, work, two kids, baseball, house, school projects, family time... I miss it but I wouldn't give up much of anything I am doing to read on my own. I do however listen to audio books a lot... but I digress. I like going into book stores and just looking at the books! I love reading I just don't have the spare time for it. Every once in a while I like to bring my kids to a book store and let them look, pick out a book they want, or two, and just spend time in the place. Book stores used to be my jam! I have dyslexia and could not read until later in life... but once I could I couldn't get enough. So book stores are a special place to me. There are not many left anymore... so you should stop in and visit one... you might find you like them too. There is just something special about being able to open a book and be transported to a different world! Although Barns and Noble is different then what it used to be... coffee shop, toy section, games, trinkets and such they still have lots of books! This location is well maintained, organized and I could spend hours in here. They have a very wide variety to choose from, kids books, SCARRY books, young adult books, fantasy, historical, etc etc... it is truly well worth the stop. Come to think of it... I think we will go to a book store today!

Overall the layout makes sense and it's easier for me to bring the kids here than pay full price at B&N down the street and the experience is pretty comparable. I also like that you can call them and ask that they hold a book for you- great for Moms running low on time who need to get a book for their kids school project or required reading (speaking from experience here). The only con I will mention is what others have mentioned as well. Don't come here with books to sell assuming you'll get a lot of money for them. Come here with the books you were going to donate anyways. I do wish they had a better trade in program.

My son and I first came to this store 5 years ago, after relocating to Atlanta from Seattle. It has bargains to die for. The option to order and have a rare book got for you, is what drew me here. I came in today, looking for The Thorn birds and Hemmingway's For whom the bell tolls. Both were available is soft cover, but I, want then in hard cover for my home library. So they have them in order now. The service team is very helpful and attentive They have reading areas where one can sit and quietly read, the children's section is quite charming. It is also a little hard to shop here -- it's not always clear what is new and what is used. There were new-looking books in with clearly used books but not everything had a price on it so it was hard to know what I was finding. Otherwise, the sections were clearly labeled and the books were in almost perfect alphabetical order. I can see how this place can establish itself as a local hangout for bibliophiles, attending all the hosted book club meetings. It just isn't a place I will seek out to go shopping at again.

I had the pleasure of visiting Johns Creek Books & Gifts today and it was a real TREAT.  This…read moreincredibly cute bookshop is OPEN - you can shop inside with a mask on, or do curbside pickup.  They also have the option of online delivery.  I went inside and was amazed at how well the store is organized!  They have a number of zones from tables where you can purchase beautiful jewelry, to a table with an awesome candle selection, a really cool puzzle section, as well as a very nice variety of ALL types of books (including a used book area!).  I found so many great items and was really excited to be able to buy the birthday gift I was looking for as well as splurge on a few things for myself as well.  The lady at the register (one of the owners?) was extremely welcoming and friendly, too.  Johns Creek Books & Gifts truly embodies the essence of an excellent community bookstore.   I realize we're in some difficult times. If you happen to be a person who is in the position to help the economy with a little bit of spending, I hope that you will consider shopping local and support great shops like this one.  Especially if you're ordering books, puzzles or candles online, if you can help a fantastic place like this stay in business, please do.  Their prices are competitive and you can get some very reasonable deals as well!  Ok, I'm off my soapbox!, just sayin' this place is pretty amazing :)

Then I moved onto the back where the books and figurines are. There is a huge selection and would take a long time to browse through it all. With just a limited amount of time, I moved onto the stationery section. They have a lot of different types of paper and notebooks, pen and pencils, and a display case with a small variety of fountain pens. There is a few of the fountain pens that you can try to see how they write. The sticker and washi tape section was kind of disappointing though. Not a big selection of it and a lot of empty spaces in the washi tape section. I will definitely have to go back and browse when I do have more time.
