I was just in the joint and I have never had such a terrible experience. I had placed my order online and while I was waiting in line to pick up my order I heard the F-bomb dropped at least three times by various employees. "Yeah, I got so f***ed up off this last night..." (from the employee mind you). The person that ended up helping me is named Jamie and he was in marijuana pattern pajama pants, a floppy eared beanie, a stained tee with a non readable name tag. I went up to the counter and I explained that I had placed my order online and he immediately snapped in a condescending manor "well that's not working right now we're transferring." I said ok, I got an order number and confirmation. He clumsy looks around, stomps to the back, comes back out and proceeds to shout "NOPE" from the back of the store shaking his head as he walks back to me. His tone and demeanor are genuinely shocking to me, I've never been treated so unprofessionally in my life. He clearly assumed that I was simply some woman who didn't know what she talking about and needed to have it mansplained to me. He was being rude and demeaning to me, treating me like it was my fault my order didn't go through. I told him I got three texts saying my order was placed, prepared, and then ready. He cut me off saying, in a confrontational and condescending tone: "I don't know what to tell you." I replied I'm telling you so you can pass the info along to your IT person. Wow... That's all I have to say. I am a 35-year-old working professional woman and I have worked in upper management and customer service for over seven years now. I know, from experience, with technical difficulties is often helpful to know what type of device the app failed on... I was tying to pass along the info as a courtesy but, instead I was brashly interrupted and spoken to in an unacceptable manor. At that point I asked for somebody else to please help me and he snapped at me telling me "fine I can get back in line then!" and he stormed to the back. I was physically shaking and almost in tears when I was finally helped by somebody else. In the mean time Jamie came back from the back loudly announcing how he's "having a great f***ing day" drenched in sarcasm and directed at me. Mind you the joint is one of only two spots I go to, this wasn't somewhere I was just popping in. I'm a regular, or I should say I was. The real kicker is that the product offered online is not even available in store. I ordered a 5 pack of a specific strain that's harder to find and not only did they not have the strain, they didn't even carry the 5 pack... only a 10 pack of a different strain. Now, I understand that they work in the U-district and the majority of their clientele are frat boys but, as a customer I expect to be treated with dignity and tact. So, If you would like to be treated well (like a human), respected as a woman, and valued as a customer, I strongly recommend making the trek to the Reef in Capitol Hill. They at least dress with intention, are kind, and uphold high standards of service. read more

Having tried more than a dozen cooperative in the Puget Sound area, I must say The Joint in the U-district, (and their new store in Bellingham) are hands down the best I've found! Upon entering the lobby, I was immediately impressed versus other establishments. The clean, safe and inviting atmosphere of free sodas, waters, juice, leather couches and multiple plasma TV's, was trumped only by the professional, knowledgeable and (above all) CARING staff. The separate budroom is by far the most well stocked I have seen, including over 20 (knockout) strains, and more variations of medibles, topicals and concentrates than I have seen since Amsterdam! True, there can sometimes be a 10 minute or so wait on Tues, Fri and Sun due to the special discounts and free meds they offer on these days, but the wait can easily be avoided by simply calling, emailing, or placing your order via the interactive menu on their full-service website. Also, I'm not clear as to why some folks have felt the staff was pushy, as I have on several occasions witnessed them take as much time as needed to patiently answer any questions or concerns that arise; while at the same time managing the traffic flow with composure and efficiency . In over 100 visits since I stumbled upon this gem I have never had a "bad trip", but if you happened to catch them on a busy day and received a less than perfect experience, I'd give them another shot. I have been to several medical marijuana establishments in the area and I have to report that the Joint Cooperative was everything I look for and more. As soon as I stepped in the door, I immediately felt like I was in a safe, clean and friendly environment. The lobby was clean and had enough reading material and an HDTV to keep me occupied while I waited. The lobby feels like a doctor's office - just the way it should be. The staff was super friendly. They even had offered me a bottled water, coca cola and gatorade. Nice touch. The bud selection was great. They had about twenty or so strains strains for either $10 or $15. I really liked how they had descriptions of each strain and the indica/sativa percentages. Derrick was so knowledgeable and he took the time to find the perfect strain for me. I suffer from chronic pain, so I went with Purple Haze (mostly for its deep color) and got a free gram of Cotton Candy Kush just for being a new patient. I got an itemized receipt for my donations which I really liked because I knew exactly what I donated. The bags were labeled with my name, all of the strain information and warning statements. The Joint Co-op is a great place to be a member. Everyone there is really friendly and easy to chat with. They are right on the Ave so they easy to get to. They definitely have won this patient over. I just hope our local and state politicians will work to allow places like The Joint Cooperative to stay open. read more

"Awesome!" was my daughter's initial comment following our first visit to The Joint Cooperative. From Day 1, "The Joint's" compassionate team have consistently shown their interested in helping a person in pain. They continually provide their time and share their knowledge with us in our daughter's battle against chronic facial nerve pain. In most instances, their medicine allowed her immediate pain relief which is almost miraculous. I have been so delighted to hear, "Oh wow my headache - and/or my nausea - is gone." In the eight years of ever increasing pain in her face and the system upset caused by prescription drugs, she was able to sit and share dinner for Thanksgiving and Christmas here in Washington. The Joint's caring team and the variety of high quality medicine they continue to provide have made such a wonderful difference in our daughter's life. Were it not for The Joint Cooperative, she would not have found hope for her own future in just a few short months. It is these caring people, anxious to help her, and their exceptional products that have made The Joint Cooperative her resource. I just went into the Joint because I was walking down the ave and I saw their sign that said, "The Joint Cooperative." I just HAD to go in because this is the first dispensary that I've seen in the U-District. Plus, it is 4/20 today. I must admit I thought it would be another hole in the wall dispensary that I've been accustomed to throughout the city. But when I got through the security door, I was pleasantly surprised. The waiting room was classy and clean. I loved the paintings on the wall and the leather couches. A lot of places have Bob Marley posters and bean bag chairs, which I am not a fan of. But the Joint set their place up right. The Joint has a great selection of meds. All of the strains have an informative description and classy display. Shia hooked me up with the Silver Surfer and the Jack's Cleaner. He was really nice and not a pushy salesman like some that I have come across in the city. He even told me that I can look at their current selection online before I come in. I checked after I left by googling "mmjmenu the joint" and I saw their whole menu! Definitely checking it out before I come in next time. They even gave me a free joint to celebrate 4/20! Easy access. Superb meds. Great company. Informative web menu. A+ in my book. read more

I have tried several access points since getting my recommendation in 2009. The Joint Cooperative has been my favorite for years. Located in the U-District, the brick storefront is secure and clean. Once the staff checks your status, you get buzzed into a bright clean waiting area where you can either watch the big screen or thumb through various marijuana magazines while you wait for the budtender to call you in. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. I can tell them which of my conditions is giving me the most problem and they know just the strain that will give me the relief I need. Their selection is great and while I have to stay away from the price of the top shelf strains, they have many in the $10 range that serve just as well. They also have specials of the day and on purchases of an ounce. There is a wide selection of medibles and topicals, hash and hash oil. I have never had problems with any clones purchased from them. The only improvement that I would suggest is to change their compassionate care program. 1g per month would last about 1 day for me. It was very easy to get signed up for the program. This has become my go to store, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and easy to talk to, always so helpful in making great selections! The door checker is usually a friendly puppy who I just want to hug everytime im in! If you are in the Seattle, University District, this is where you want to go period. Parking is ample, easy, location is fabulous and the selection and prices are perfect! Impressive variety of flowers, edibles, and accessories. Even as seasoned dispensary regular, and a long time consumer, I have never seen so many different marijuana products in one store. Upon entering, staff will always check your ID. While browsing their wide selection, you enter a queue, and wait for the next available bud tender. They do seem to get busy, but the wait is usually only a couple minutes. Our bud tender was very friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to make suggestions. Prices are always very affordable, this really is as good as it gets! read more

After being a customer for over a year now, I can say the informative, caring service I've received at The Joint far surpasses any where else I've been. All reps take the time to find out what you need, let you know what products are available, all informally while making you feel really cared about, and with all the customers, that's remarkable. I use mainly indica strains for spine and muscle spasm pain, as well as for nausea, and no matter when I visit The Joint, I know I'll come away with top quality relief. I'm really proud to be a member of such a Cooperative, and especially glad to know these great people who have been on the front lines of new legislation to help us patients truly have Freedom of Choice in our medical care. I've been going to the Jojnt for almost a year now. I got my card right next door at the cure center and when I first arrived I was overwhelmed with all the different types of medicine available, but the staff were friendly and patient with me and have always had an answer to any question Ive had. There might be cheaper places, but the product here is top notch and the service is great. I get treated with so much kindness and respect every visit there's no way I'd ever switch to another co-op. Even waiting on a busy day with other patients is great, complimentary water, comfy couches and a big ass TV. The other patients are just as nice as the staff, Its like one big medicated family. Worth checking out even if its a bit out of your way. For me its very close but also the best. read more

I've visited other dispensaries throughout Seattle, sometimes I've visited twice, however I visit The Joint Cooperative biweekly at the very least. The staff unceasingly greet me with genuine smiles and are ready to answer any and all of my questions and I've yet to see anyone treated different. Everyone I see go through the place is amiable and seems to be very comfortable. The Joint, with it's mi casa es su casa vibe, has steadily evolved and expanded their products and style since I started going here fall '12. I highly recommend it. I go there for one or two strains that I can't get anywhere else -especially the Dutch Hawaiian. The people have always been nice to me. I don't hang around and waste time so they probably like customers like me since they are usually pretty busy. The nice thing is that I can call in my order and pick it up at the front desk without ever having to contend with a crowd, anyway. But, when it's a little slower, I do like to go into the medicine room and see what's new. Although no place is perfect, I'm giving The Joint 5 stars because they have treated me right and the particular strains that I get from them are some of my favorites. Wow! I guess I'm not the only one who has had a bad experience here. I won't go into details but will just echo the concerns of the reviewer above me. Some really poor quality medicine can be found here. One time I purchased a gram of medicine and it had 6 seeds in it. Really? The employees here are friendly for the most part, but that in no way makes up for the stuff they try to pass of as Medicine. And I see they are now charging a 9.5% sales tax. I guess they are now in the business of Selling Marijuana as opposed to accepting donations. I wonder what the Feds think of that? read more

This is your typical Corporate California Co-op we as Washintonian's need to avoid! First off the product all seemed like it was outdoor weed from California which is a big no-no for this industry. I believe in keeping it local by local growers and keeping Washington away form the mass produced Cali Outdoor! I felt very Walmartized in my visit and very rushed to make a decision on less than par medicine. I mean on not bagging on outdoor Cali weed cause we all know some of it is really good I know. I have been a member of The Joint Cooperative for a week and it is the best dispensary I've been to on the West Coast. The selections are many, ranging from Sativas, Indicas, and hybrids, to edibles, hash, oils and more. They are constantly introducing new strains, while also keeping the favorites freshly stocked. The best part is that the staff is all very knowledgeable and friendly, and they do a good job of helping you get your medicine in a timely manner while providing lots of advice on any and all questions you might have. The staff at The Joint Cooperative are all so friendly! Their lobby was clean and decorated nicely. Also, the staff offered me a drink from their fully stocked fridge. I did not feel awkward or uneasy about approaching their facility. I came in on Friday and received a FREE joint with my donation of over $20. The selection was amazing! Different types of medicine for every need, fully stocked! Another luxury was their official JOINT membership cards to avoid the annoying paperwork I have to fill out each time. Great strains, great service. The joint is far and my favorite Seattle dispensary. Budtenders are extra knowledgeable and friendly, so it is always a pleasure to stop in. Great strains across the board, with a wide mix of sativa, indica and hybrid. Also excellent selection of concentrates and edibles. What's especially great is the daily promotions the joint offers. My favorites are top shelf Tuesday, free joint Friday and free gram Saturday. I highly recommend the joint to any patient in Seattle, especially those in the north end. The Joint is the ONLY coop I shop at anymore. The staff couldn't be more helpful, I love all their recommendations and their overall knowledge is excellent. I write part time for mmj and I have been to most of the higher end dispensaries in Seattle. At the Joint I feel at home, mostly because the staff there treats me like family. I walked in there with a friend who was looking to learn about marijuana. They checked our IDs, but upon seeing my out-of-state ID were dumbstruck. The obviously stoned dude behind the counter claimed my entirely real drivers' license was, "Fake as shit" and tried to confiscate it. I told him to check 2 or 3 difficult to counterfeit aspects of the drivers' license, but the dude couldn't feel his face, let alone interact with customers. Idiots work here. read more

This was a clean, festive, and organized environment. I was greeted upon entry, showed my ID, and was asked about my specific Cannabis needs. For only being open a few months, this shop has a wide selection of products ranging from well known top-shelf to great deals on quantity.
