Located inside a food court (which is kind of cool. There are games and activities and a big screen tv where we watched a World Cup game), is an unassuming vegan place called the joint. We read about it, and decided to give it a try. While waiting to order, another customer came back and thanked the staff for "their genius" because the food so completely mimicked its meat counterparts. But without all the processed food products. The staff were happy to answer all of our questions and make some suggestions. The price point is great and the portions are huge. And everything we got was delicious. I agree with the other customer: these were innovative uses of plant products. We got the Cubano, the bae, and some of the birria tacos. And while we didn't order the Reuben, we did talk to them about how they use the celery root to emulate pastrami ... and it was very cool. We also got the Parmesan truffle fries and the maple Brussels sprouts. And they were fantastic accompaniments. Anyway, this was amazing. And I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. Even though I only ordered a few small plates, their food is on point. The maple miso Brussels were my fav and I enjoyed the truffle fries as well. The Fried Bok Choy was a bit too oily for me but the attempt was there as far as the flavor pairing with the chili oil. I'd be open to going back to try their main dishes. **please be patient and kind to the staff as there's typically only one person on the line cooking, serving, and taking your order. Food: mediocre and very low on flavor. All I could taste on the Philly was the onion. No au jus. There was just a drizzle of cheeze sauce, and it had no detectable flavor. The filling had some chewiness, but I couldn't detect any mushroom flavor at all. Took three bites and threw it away. My husband had the patty melt. Ate half, complained it had too many onions, and threw the rest away. Service: we arrived 20 minutes after opening and they weren't ready to take orders yet. Another couple cane in and left. I wish we had, too. We had to walk down the hall to get a glass of water. Ambiance: annoying is the best word to describe it. Ventilation system is noisy. Patio tables werent set up yet. I've stopped into The Joint a few times now while staying nearby for business. I used Yelp to find plant based options near the hotel I stayed at and The Joint came up. It's located in a building that has several other eateries and bar areas. The times I've been have been very clean and everything looked well organized. I've gotten a few things from The Joint, the Rueben, and the Philly cheeze steak as well as the no animal fries and regular fries (which I ordered the animal style fries once which are an upgrade but got regular fries instead which were not great). Minus a star for the upcharge and not getting what I asked for. Partly my mistake as I didn't look before leaving the restaurant (carried out both visits) to verify. However the food itself (barring the regular fries which were pretty bland and to me) was really good. Great flavors and everything was well cooked. The sauces on both sandwiches are great. The service at The Joint is also great. They do have a seating area with some sofas and comfy chairs that I hung out in while waiting each time for my order to be ready. Came here for the second time while visiting from California! First time I tried the birria tacos and had a biscoff Tiramisu cheesecake, both of which were absolutely amazing. I am so glad my family decided to give it a try this time as well! I am the only vegan in my family, but they wanted to come as well which was great! The service initially was slow, as the worker was on a break when we arrived, but we didn't mind waiting at all especially knowing it's a one person show! We ordered the Philly, the Bae, the Rueben, the birria tacos, and the no animal fries. The seating was great for waiting, as they had comfy couches directly in front that fit all 7 of us perfectly. My family and I literally ate every single bite of all the food and it was absolutely delicious! I am always so impressed coming here, and it did not disappoint today! I liked my food from The Joint just fine, but I wasn't overly impressed. We tried a few different menu options and it wasn't quite as flavorful or unique as I'd hoped. I thought the tofu belly was a little overly marinated by itself and was a little disappointed that the "bites" were the same exact thing as the tofu belly inside of the sandwich - probably would not have ordered both. The ramen was SUPER spicy (asked for medium) and the actual noodles in it seemed like packaged ramen vs fresh. The food took quite a while to come out. The ambiance is a food hall with some cute areas to sit but the music was WAY too loud so it was hard to hear each other speak even though there weren't that many people inside. read more

Food has been delicious every time I've been here! I don't know if they still do brunch but last time, the pancakes were incredible. We paid over $70 and could not eat it. No real apology. No offer for anything. The fries were soggy & dripping with oil. Yes it is Supposed to be truffle oil. Its not supposed to be dripping. And it didn't taste like truffle. The tacos were so overcooked it took forever to chew and then had a spice that was too spicy to eat. The Philly sand had no taste. Texture was good but no flavor. The patty melt crumbled apart and was not good. When I went and complained instead of apologizing I was met with excuses! No wonder you only sold 8 orders before we got there! I realize you can have a bad day. But if you aren't focused on work you are just losing money and business. I wish you well, but seriously won't return. I've been vegan for almost 12 years now and hands down, I can say with confidence these were the BEST birria tacos I've ever had. I ordered online with specific request to have no cilantro on top and to have it made with a gluten free tortilla. I arrived to pick up my order and the man working there apologized and remade my order without any complaints. He was really quick to remake the new tacos and they were absolutely delicious. I also added the $1 queso sauce to mine which was a nice addition to dip the tacos into to help cut back the heat from the beautifully seasoned "mushroom meat".
