I love THE JOINT for the affordable care, the walk-in availability (no appointment necessary, ever) and the cleanliness of the place. I went in because I have some nagging and pinching pain in my SI joint -- lifting athlete, aka chiropractic worst nightmare. Came in feeling desperate for some relief and left with a new pep in my step for $30. The only thing I DON'T like about this place, is the fact they try to sell you on care packages or being 'certain' that X number a visits per week per month will cure you and that you get a great deal. I understand they're a business and need to make money, but I don't like being told I need a monthly membership in order for me to feel better. Regardless, I will return as I feel better and I love how affordable the adjustments are. I've paid triple and sometimes quadruple the amount I do here for a single visit and I appreciate this place very much! read more

I and my teenager were in an a car accident where we were re-ended. Went to The Joint to be worked on. We were denied service. Why? It's not that we couldn't be seen (and paid up front for the adjustments) it was that we WOULDN'T be worked on because insurance might be involved. If you're fresh from an accident they won't help you, good luck but go somewhere else. read more

After verbally cancelling my recurring payment plan with them in-person, I found out a year later that I've been getting charged monthly for that same recurring payment that I cancelled. Even better, the reason I cancelled in the first place was because they took back credits for missed visits that they had already allotted me, saying the "protocol has changed". This mama is in some Major pain after lifting my 4 year old incorrectly. Stopping in at 1:45 on my way to pick up and they refuse to see me but there's no line, no other patients. I've been going to some sort of chiropractor for 5 years now but because I haven't been to the joint in 12 months they consider me a new patient so I have ti do a consultation etc. Look I'm in tears, I just need an adjustment, I know exactly why I need and it's not you sending me away because you close in 15 min. Walked in at 1:20, there was nobody in the office, and I was informed they were not seeing anybody else before lunch. While they do have their lunch hours posted, they do not have a time posted (or it is at least not in a viewer friendly location) for when they see their last patient before lunch. The fact there were 40 minutes before lunch and they are turning down 10 minute adjustments is unacceptable. Last Saturday I received an email from The Joint Chiropractic and the subject line was "We Miss You! Come and Save Today." The body of the email read "We've missed you at The Joint Chiropractic! As a valued patient, we're offering you an exclusive deal - your next chiropractic adjustment for just $19! This is our way of saying thank you for choosing us as your trusted provider." The offer was good for one week only and I went to the location the next day. I presented the receptionist with the email but based on her initial response I was not certain that I would receive the "exclusive deal." Days later I checked my credit card and I was charged full price for the adjustment. Forwarded the original email to the office and they responded "this was a new patient exclusive deal and you are an existing patient." How do they miss "new" patients if they have never been seen before? Is this how a reputable business communicates with their "valued patients?" Not sure how anyone would trust a business that acts in this manner. read more

I have been to The Joint in several states as I travel. This has to be the worst experience. the receptionist was unfriendly. she didn't welcome me in, use my name nor ever smiled. The "doctor" gave the impression he hated his job. Never asked how I felt, did I have any specific complaint or expressed concern of why I had to come into an out of state office. You would think he would wonder why I would be from out of town looking for chiropractic help. Nope. Very disappointing service. read more

Very disappointing in my experience, I would NOT recommend. I canceled my membership in December because I was not satisfied with the treatment. In march I was charged, I Called and apparently they did a pause not cancellation. Irritating but seemed easy to fix so I was told they submitted a refund will take 7-10days on the 10th day I called and was told that refund request was never submitted so it will be another 7-10 days and that my account is finally fully cancelled. But now today April 15th my account has yet again been changed? So now I have to wait for another refund, this is just very unprofessional and irritating for me since I left 4months ago and am still dealing with the joint pulling funds from my account.also I can rarely seem to get anyone on the phone or a call back. read more

I hurt my lower back Saturday morning and my regular chiropractor isn't open on weekends so I thought I'd give The Joint a try. It thought it was a bit strange that you do not make appointments but you just show up get in line. I guess it was my lucky day as there was only one person there who was with the doc and I was next. Almost as good as making an appointment. I did feel a little better but knew I would have to have several treatments (probably daily for a while) to get myself back to somewhat of normalcy. I figured I'd come back on Sunday. I didn't purchase the monthly plan because they do not take insurance and my insurance pays for chiropractic care and I'd just go to my regular doctor during the week. Update - I went back on Sunday and because they do not take appointments you are just at the mercy of how many people show up before you. There were 5 people ahead of me when I got there and after 15 minutes no one had gone back to see the doctor. I called another location and fond one with less people waiting and opted to leave and go there. I lowered my rating because I do not think this style of chiropractic care really is conducive to people who are in pain. If you just need an adjustment maybe it will work but when you are in pain I'm not thinking it's the way to go. read more

Update- called the business two separate times in an attempt to respond like Alyssa requested. The first time she was unavailable and I was hung up on before I could ask to leave her a message. The second time a few days later they didn't even know who I was asking for. Since I couldn't get ahold of you, Alyssa- Medical bills are up to $5,140. $2,000 for the ER visit and CT scan. $500 for the MRI. $280 for the neurologist consultation. $600 for two visits to the pain management doctor. $160 on medication. And $1,600 for an epidural cortisone injection. I have health insurance, and all procedures and providers were in network. I've updated my married name on Yelp, maybe you can reach out to me instead once you locate my records. Original review: I guess I'm the reason for the lengthy release forms they have you sign before an adjustment. Let me start by saying, everyone was kind and helpful. Nobody was ever rude or short with me. The worsening of my injury is the problem. Went in with neck stiffness. No pain. Figured I just needed a good pop. First adjustment felt great, lots of pops, but I started having some pain and neurological symptoms. My left arm started feeling tingly. Went back, was told that was normal, that it was my spine coming into alignment. Had three more adjustments and started to really hurt. The final one was so bad that I couldn't support my own head by the time I got home. I went straight to the ER. The neurosurgeon I saw determined that the adjustments I had received had exacerbated a herniated disc. I've now been through multiple rounds of oral steroids, a steroid injection, and I'm looking at surgery next. Had I seen a real doctor in the first place, it's likely that the oral steroids would have been enough. Please do your research on chiropractic care. Speak to a neurologist. The Joint does not do any imaging before care. Had they done any, they would have found the herniation and known not to continue. Learn from my mistake The release forms relieve them of any liability and place the thousands of dollars in medical bills firmly in my lap. read more

They gloss over the "contract" when they charge you. BE AWARE you have to go into the actual place you first went to to sign a cancellation form. BUT when we went in we were told there is a minimum of two more charges that have to go through be able to cancel. WTH???? That was never disclosed, imagine you are in pain and wanting to get relief and they present you with this form to sign and tell you it'll only be a certain amount if you choose a monthly payment. read more

First, this is a popular clinic for chiropractic help so if you go on Saturdays or Sundays you can find yourself in a wait. That being said, Paula up front is as nice and helpful as you can get. Dr Chuck is really helping me keep my back healthy and out of pain. The parking lot is small in front so if you get there and the starbucks next door is crowded you can find parking around the back in the larger general parking lot for the shopping center. I go once a week because I don't like things getting to an acute stage before getting help. They are upfront that if you need more than adjustments (muscle stimulation or massage) then you should seek help but I can't tell you the times I've walked in in pain and walked out feeling taller and without it. I love the monthly plan so I can go weekly. Highly recommend. read more

So, I have been to a handful of joints around the US. The visit I had today was by far my least favorite... to be honest I have never had a visit at any chiropractor that I could say was worse than this. Spent maybe and I mean maybe 2 min on the table. Didn't even get my lower back and barely got anything else. There was only one person behind me and not sure if she even got adjusted because she left by the time I was backing out on my parking spot. Like... I am all about fast service, but this was no talking to me at all. Didn't ask me how I had been doing or if the area that was giving me a problem the same area... seemed like all protocols out the window. The desk girl had personality. Seemed new and couldn't pronounce my last name to save her life and it isn't hard. She tried at least tho... the chiropractor in the back just treated me as a number. I hope the other joints in Austin have higher standards than this one. Will definitely give others a try due to past experiences and hope they will be more genuine than this place. So I discovered them out of necessity. Pinched a nerve on my neck Friday night and by Saturday morning I was waiting for them to open the nearest location. After a few cracks I was back to normal!!! I've been going ever since and lately I've been getting good at going in every week or so and the fact that they have a location all over Austin is perfect. I had never been to a chiropractor before & decided to try it out, let me tell y'all Dr. Sherman is AMAZING!!! I like that she actually takes the time to talk to you about what's bothering you & tells you the best ways to fix them. I'll admit I was just going in for the intro offer, but she told me it would be best to come in at least once a week for a month & that has helped me so much! You can tell just how friendly this office is by other patients coming in and the know everyone by name. The front desk Tem is also so sweet & very helpful when I needed additional visits. It was just this Sunday when I was in the car with some very annoying back pain and I asked my spouse to find a place (with the expectation that we wouldn't find anything) and lo and behold the joint popped right up. They brought me in, filled out some paperwork, got me adjusted, and back in moving order. They also sent me some informational PDFs via email once I talked to the doctor about some of my problems. I am glad The Joint opened up as there is finally a Chiropractor, near where I live, that you can see on the weekends when most everyone else only has weekday hours. The other part is that it is walk in only which means when I have back problems that pop up there will be a place that I can just head in and get myself fixed. Finally, I want to talk about their prices. They are pretty much around $40 a visit and no insurance is needed. They do package deals which like any package deal, the more visits you pre-buy, the better the price per visit. Did I mention they do military discount too, but that is only if you do the package deals. So the reason this place gets 5 stars is that it fills a serious medical need on the weekends (and of course normal and some off business hours) at a price that can be afforded for everyday common folk.
