My back went out Tuesday night and I was in excruciating pain. My long time chiropractor just had eye surgery so he was out of commission so I tried The Joint. The old saying third time is a charm really applied to the Orange office. From the very sweet and friendly receptionist who had me filling out paperwork, to the doctor who listened to me, noting that my back was probably reacting to my new knee. He got me fixed up, advised me to keep icing it as the nerves were super inflamed and affecting my diaphragm. I will definitely go back. Love this Joint! Dr. Cavannagh is fantastic and does a great job with the adjustments. He always makes sure I'm comfortable, but also makes sure I get what I need. I've seen a lot of different chiropractors and while most are generally competent Dr. Cavannagh is definitely my favorite. The concept of the Joint is awesome. I can go in at lunch without an appointment and be out of there in 10 minutes. It's great for those that need regular or periodic maintenance, but serious injuries you are probably best to go with a chiropractic office. It's not that the Dr's at the The Joint can't help as many have been in their own practice previously, but the concept of the joint is to get in and out without much waiting. read more

I was pretty excited about coming into The Joint Chiropractic since I've been experiencing back pains due to working. I come in on a Friday at opening and was greeted by Royce and was told to fill out the paperwork as a new patient. I was the only patient that was in at the time so I got one on one care, so that was nice. I get my assessment and was readjusted with a person who was stepping in for Dr. Cavannagh since he was getting married that weekend and it was fine. I've never had a chiropractic appointment before so I couldn't compare it to anything else. The reason for the star is as follows: When I finished with my appointment, Royce was pushing me to start on the $69 per month deal, which I was a little hesitant about since I didn't feel any benefits yet, and for me, a college student, $69 a month is steep for me since I don't rely on family for financial support. I slowly agreed and as I was filling out the paperwork for the membership, Royce took my credit card (I thought it was to charge me for the initial appointment of $29) so I gave it to her without question. Halfway throughout the paperwork, I changed my mind and went up to Royce to see if it was okay if I hold off on the member program until I worked it out with my fiance to see if our expenses would be okay if I took $69 a month (we are looking to getting married and trying to save for our wedding). However, Royce already ran my card before I finished my paperwork or signed the paperwork so she did it as an unauthorized charge! I was pretty upset. Livid actually. I asked if she can cancel it but she said that she can't cuz the system was down and that I had to come back in a month so that they can cancel my membership and I would still get charged for the first 2 months of membership without refund, which was ridiculous. I wasn't going to drive all the way there when I can cancel the membership right then and there. Royce had me submit my paperwork anyways and I tried contacting the Joint the next day and no answer. I'm upset because I thought this would've been my go to for my back pain. I guess not. Very disappointed and won't be coming back. read more

I've been a patient at the Joint for a little bit over a year now and I do not regret being a member here. For over 5 months I struggled with horrible hip and knee pain, Dr Cavanaugh has been assisting me since day one and has been able to reduce my pain levels. Over the year I have not needed to make consistent visits due to being in better structure with my hip and knee pain. The chiropractors here are fine. If you want to sign up for their $69 a month deal and never cancel then this is the place for you. Canceling your membership is extremely difficult. If you have any billing problems they don't have any superiors you can speak to, they said don't have a billing department you can speak to (i'm calling BS on that one), and they don't mail out invoices. read more

Easy access off of the fwy. Only 10 min from Disneyland. Saw Dr. Henshaw(sp?) today. She's awesome, very knowledgeable and had to try a few different techniques to get my mid back to adjust. Some things in life can be done quickly, but a chiropractor appointment should not be quick and rushed. I spent maybe 4 or 5 minutes with the doctor last time I was there, barley even got to explain what was going on and he started to work on my back. Adjusted me to his standards of what he thought was best and said I was done. After I was done I felt sharp pains in my upper back and chest to the point where I couldn't move without feeling a sharp pain. I've never ever had this happen after a visit with any chiro. So, I called the next day and requested for a redo or to have someone fix it since it was there fault initially and was told that they don't do that and I would be charged yet again. Hmmm.... Wasn't my fault you messed up. Went back the next day because they should fix the mistake they made and what do you know, my back was out in 4 different places!!! Definitely will not be going back, chiropractor appointments take time, instead of just rushing through and taking your money for doing nothing. It is nice that it is a walk in business, but at least spend time with the patient and make sure to actually help them. read more

This is one of those businesses where you walk in, the place seems nice, and then when you start talking to the 'professional', it starts to feel all sketchy. My boyfriend went in for 'treatment' last year, the man that did work on my boyfriend's spine lasted probably only 5 mins. My boyfriend has me cracking his back all the time and this was probably the same exact thing, it did nothing for him and they sucker you into getting their membership. He went in for additional adjustments since it was paid as the membership and they did the same exact things as they did on that FIRST visit, some back crunching, turn you on the side crunching, turn you on the other side crunching, and then have you tuck your head in between your arms for a neck crunching. This other thing is my favorite, they have you lay on your stomach and they pull your legs, and if you are with someone there (accompanying you at your visit-say like your gf/bf) they will call that person over and tell them to look at your legs 'SEE HOW ONE IS LONGER THAN THE OTHER", The time that I went, gave them the benefit of the doubt (different occasion), the guy who called himself "Dr. Zen" had me lay on my stomach and called my boyfriend to look at my legs and told him the exact same thing, one leg is longer than the other. This is probably part of their training. That seemed fishy enough. My other complaint was that Dr. Zen (or whatever his actual name was-tall skinny man ~late 40s, raspy voice, had a beard) asked my weight and height, I responded "..5'3"- 105lbs" to which he remarks "OH, like a porn star" boy was that awkward when neither me nor my boyfriend laughed. That was so uncomfortable, awkward, AND inappropriate, AND unprofessional. He had also asked me all sorts of questions about my back pain and then seemed frazzled as if he had no idea what to do. He then pulls out another waiver paper and asks me to initial where it says I will not sue 'The Joint' for liability in case of death, wrongful manipulations, or even death. At this point I thought to myself--I should run out of here now, but no, when you're put on the spot like that, it's easier said than done. He did the same exact stuff to me that the other guys had done on my boyfriend on his separate visits. When he had me tuck my head into my arms and cracked my neck, I felt like a spasm that tingled down my neck and it felt weird. Now, I am left with frequent neck pain that leads to terrible migraines that resonates all over the left side of my neck and back of my head. ALL IN ALL, I will NOT be coming back to this establishment and I hope you read my experience and think before you give it a try. Good Luck people! read more

I recently went to this business and had a rather enjoyable experience. There is a good offer through the website for a $19 which I printed however I ended up purchasing a package and getting my first session free instead. You can either by monthly, buy clusters, or pay as you go. If you pay as you go it is $29 each visit. The more sessions you purchase at once e cheaper they are. I paid. 116 for 5 sessions. You get a convenient little key tag to scan in easily whenever you come in. It was rather quick and it did the trick and made my back heal quicker, or so it seems. read more

I have been coming for four months, alternating between two doctors. Granted, I come mostly for maintenance and has no pain. But once I had a terrible flu (I hardly got sick and never got a flu shot, so it was horrible) and after seeing them three times in a week, I saw the differences. This was my first time going to this location. There was a very minimal wait when I got there. When it was my turn the doctor never introduced himself, seemed like he was in a rush and that is the kind of treatment I felt I got as well. Very quick adjustment, kind of like a cookie cutter adjustment rather than assessing my needs like other chiropractors I have gone to. First time visit to the chiropractor . I hope it does good than harm. :-) Still sore from adjustment s . I m having discomfort, numbing and tingling on my right neck and shoulder. Still need to see a neurologist. I read that soreness is normal after first adjustment. Anyway s..place is clean, staff were professional. I have about 14 more visits to go but I know that Dr. Gallo is good, knowledgeable and I'm 100% positive that he's able to help me with this problems Im dealing with. I have been getting weekly adjustments by Dr. Cavanaugh for several months and this is by far my favorite place to go. I love how the Joint offers membership plans that allow you to visit any location because it is great when you are out of your area and need a quick adjustment. I have been to several locations in the Orange County area and while they are all skilled chiropractors, I have found that Dr. Cavanaugh does the best job at adjusting me. He is very knowledgeable and will also offer tips on how to continue your treatment at home. He usually takes his time to pull out all the stops and makes sure I am properly adjusted before I leave. I come here every week. Everytime I leave, my back pain goes away :) You do have to sign up for a minimum six months and they definitely want everyone to do that. I would suggest it, as it is a lot more cost effective than any other chiropractor I have ever been to. They advertise that they focus on Adjustments, which is true. If you are looking for a super long chiropractic visit with massage, etc. this is not the place. Giselle, the receptionist is very nice and has great customer service. I have only had to wait a long timeline, which was last week, because the manager had a flat tire on the way into work.
