So I went for a consultation with Dr Lorie and so far I have no complaints. Well starting out, alexis, at the front desk was very helpful and useful in explaining the packages available at the facility. Dr. Lorie explain everything that was happening every step of the way. She made sure that I was comfortable and then I was not going to have any issues with any of the gestures or emotions that would be happening during our session. She made sure to make me feel at ease and I appreciate it that, since it was my first time. Would I go back again? I sure would. Actually, I plan on it. It may take some time to get my issues worked out, but everybody there seems very willing to help and assist and very friendly doing so. Update: I came back the next day and actually work with Dr eric. I think he was great! He talked a lot but that was him explaining what was happening and what was going on. He pulled out the spinal model so he can show me exactly what he was doing so I can understand it. He told me to try out the rest of the week and if I need to come back then that would be perfectly fine, but he said here's what you're supposed to do in the meantime. He was very clear on what he was saying and I appreciated that. I actually felt some relief when he was finished, I thought that was great. I tried moving with my range of motion, and it was a little bit better so I know that that was something that was positive from the second visit. I'm really appreciative of the fact that I can visit any location for service. I received a text on my phone that it's been over 15 days since my last visit and that I needed to get a visit in to maintain my overall wellness. Luckily, I was in the area, back pain was beginning to increase due to the activity I was doing but I am a full believer thatChiropractic treatment has been helping. I left my key card at home but I was able to check in with my phone number, was seen and serviced at least within 20 minutes. Do not use the Joint and definitely do not use this Brookhaven location. They will do anything to make sure they get your money. They make you cancel your subscription before the renewal date so that you don't get charged for the next month but they don't tell you that you will loose the visits that you have paid for. I started going to The Joint when I moved to Atlanta in late 2015 after experiencing back issues from a lot of work travel and living in hotels for half the year. I was skeptical at first, as I'd never been to a chiropractor, but Dr. Eric took the time to go through step-by-step what a typical visit was like, what I should expect as the outcome and as I got my first adjustment, even explaining what he was doing and the purpose/reasoning behind it. I'm terribly disappointed in the level of customer service I received as a new patient. I called to make an appointment at a time that they said they could see me right away. I showed up early to fill out the paperwork. Fast forward, the receptionist sent 5 walk-in patients back to see the doctor because their "appointments" were quicker. Lesson learned, don't bother making an appointment. I should note the only reason for the 1 star was the customer service. I started going to The Joint again back in October 2021. I had a shoulder injury & have been to PT but was still experiencing discomfort. I wanted to give chiropractic treatment a shot, hoped it'll give me some relief. Plus I was having some lower back tightness anyway so I thought It was a good idea. I have seen Eric in the past & wanted to stick with him. I felt some relief & I was even able to finish a half marathon in November 2021. It was going good until March 2022 when I saw Jacob bc Eric was off the day I came in. The first session w/ Jacob was really painful. I yelped & cursed out loud w/ every adjustment. He also used this technique where he pressed really hard on my muscles which gave me bruises the next day. After that first appointment I didn't feel right. That night I felt radiating pain on my right butt cheek that went down my leg and my neck felt really tight. I went back to Jacob & told him my neck & back didn't feel right & even mentioned that I had bruises from the first appointment. I was very friendly with him bc I was afraid to offend him. He adjusted me again & it just got worse. It was getting hard to go on jogs and walks. I usually go for 3 mile jogs or 3-5 mile walks atleast 3-4 days/week, but just putting on shoes or underwear was painful from that adjustment. My mistake was I went back hoping he can correct whatever was going on. After that 3rd session,the next day I couldn't move my neck & the pain on my back was severe. I went in that afternoon to tell him I can't move my neck. He adjusted me & I had some mobility after. But it didn't improve overall. I've had so much pain on my back and neck, every single step hurt. I decided to talk to Eric & tell him what was going on & cried to him about my pain. He told me to come in several times a week & said I won't be charged. He said that my right leg is off by about 1/2 inch, I have a lot of inflammation on my neck that I didn't have when I did my sessions with him previously & that it may be from aggressive adjustment. He even stated that he doesn't like it that Jacob uses a yoga block when performing adjustments. Eric did a lot of adjustments on me for weeks. I had some good days but definitely a lot of bad days. I stopped working out bc of the pain. Finally Eric referred me to see my PCP. They didn't see anything other than I showed symptoms of sciatica. I was referred to an orthopedist, they took X-rays but it didn't explain the symptoms I'm having. They gave me a steroid pack and it helped but as soon as the dose was done the pain came back. I got 2nd opinion from another ortho & he ordered an MRI & PT. I kept Eric updated & he assured me that his superiors were already aware & implied they will help me. All the doctors visits & X-rays have been costing me money. I know the MRI & PT will cost a lot more so I approached Eric for financial help. He referred me to Dianne Hummer & of course as expected they denied assistance. They said that the chiropractors didn't find any evidence that my pain is related to the adjustments that have been done in their practice. She even refused to refund me my last month of membership until I disputed it with my bank. I have had my MRI done & I have a long way to recovery. A lot of PT and if PT doesn't work then a back surgery is in my future. This has definitely altered my life. I have never experienced this kind of pain. This has limited my activity & caused me mental & emotional stress. I have been living in pain every waking moment. It has been so difficult to work (I'm a dental hygienist) but I cannot quit my job bc I have medical bills to pay. Chiropractic adjustment is supposed to help but it did the opposite for me & it happened overnight. They're not taking responsibility for what happened, they told me they cannot help me & will close the case. I am sharing this for awareness. If you start feeling pain STOP. It's not worth it. They will deny any involvement & will abandon you in the end. read more

He listen carefully about your issues or concerns, and he is so patient. He takes his time and gives everyone, regulars or new comers, equal attentions. Dr Eric is fantastic. He is always professional, engaging and concerned. He always remembers what we did last time and is proactive in my overall chiropractic health. I have never felt any pressure from that location to do anything other than what I wanted to for membership. I find the value to be excellent and the care excellent. I've never had an issue with customer service. There have been very few times where I've had to wait more than five or 10 minutes. The times I did have to wait a little bit longer was because they're just happened to be other members in front of me waiting to see him. When They do have a lot of people they do a great job getting people in and out so you don't have to wait a long time. I also love their hours. My experience was very pleasant. Short waiting time, about the time it took me to complete my intake forms. The Receptionist was very courteous and the Dr was nice. I had a simple adjustment which only cost me 19$. I didn't have to agree to a treatment plan and was prescribed to come again later this week and twice a week for a month. I was extremely pleased with my initial experience at The Joint Chiropractic. I was having severe neck pain and was not able to find any relief. I'm a fan of chiropractic care, but I'm not a fan of the "selling" of care that often gives chiropractors a bad rep. Once I reached my maximum pain threshold I decided to cry uncle and give it go. Not only do I dislike sitting through sales pitches of any type, I also tend to avoid mass chain franchises of any sort, as a personal preference. But the reviews were great, the practice was 5 minutes from my house and I needed relief. I was open with the staff regarding my dislike of the sales pitch and they were extremely respectful of my wishes. Dr Eric took his time and listened to me. He didn't pitch anything to me. He told me what he was doing and what to expect prior to each adjustment. I did ask for his recommendations on further treatment and I followed through with his suggestions for home care. I felt 50% better when I left the center yesterday and 90% better today. And because I didn't feel pushed or manipulated and they didn't force feed 30 minutes of subluxation, herniations, and C2's and L9's down my throat, I might even go back on Tuesday... read more

I injured my back lifting weights. For a solid month I've been doubled over. Walking has been very slow and difficult. I didn't know if I would ever walk painlessly again, or for that matter, do any of the activities I enjoy. Chronic back pain seems to end a lot of careers, and I was scared. Two weeks ago I started going to these guys. By the second adjustment I could tell this was the way out, and now I'm walking painlessly and even working out again. Then after the adjustment he said I should get some temp relief and I should start seeing him more. Wrong! TL; DR: Don't sign their contract and go to a real Chiropractor. This is a money grab. Same as previous post. My girlfriend and I enjoyed Dr. Eric for a short period and decided that the services were nice but I saw my back pain leaving me more from strengthening the muscles and light exercise, not from chiropractic services. One day in October I received a call while at work concerning payment issues because the card on file had expired. I politely informed the front desk that we were no longer interested in the services and please discontinue the charges. 3 months later we find out that they contacted Mastercard, procured the new credit card number and continued charging without any notification which seems quite fraudulent. We didn't even receive an e-mail asking us why we haven't been coming in, they just kept charging. Upon personally going in and trying to dispute, we received a cold shoulder. This place is a scam, the contract even has a sneaky 30 day notice to discontinue services so you HAVE to pay for another month. read more

Dr. Eric seemed like a great guy who only wanted to help me with my back issues. However, when he/The Joint were not helping my chronic back pain, he recommended I get x-rays to determine if I needed more medical care. At that point the x-rays showed that the services The Joint provided were not sufficient and I canceled my account. I was willing to swallow the additional charge for that month even though I was not receiving adjustments any more, but when my account was charged again the following month I called to dispute. The receptionist told me that my doctor would have to fax over documentation that I needed additional services, which he did. Over the next 3 weeks I was calling back to see if they have talked to their "corporate" office yet to get the charge from my account. There is no "corporate" office number listed online, and they would never let me talk to anyone but the girl at the front desk. I was finally told after three weeks of back and forth that the charges were to stay on my account because I didn't need surgery. I was completely scammed out of my money, and was so inconvenienced by the process. Their contract is a lie, and I'm honestly worried that they will try to charge me next month and there is really nothing I can do about it. I would highly recommend you don't get started with this dishonest company. I've never made a bad review on YELP, but I gave them many chances to make this right and they didn't and I don't want anyone else to go through what I went through. read more

Horrible customer service. I was promised a call back on FIVE separate occasions... no call EVER. Extremely disrespectful and dismissive. I had canceled my contract back in 2013 when my rheumatologist suggested that I try PT for a bit instead. I called and was informed that they could put my account on a freeze and that I should call back to restart my membership when I was ready. I was continually charged for almost 2 years after this! I tried to dispute the charges but the receptionist and the chiro told me that they needed to talk to their "partners" of the business to get their approval of refunding my money. Sounded promising... until I had to call about 10 times to get anyone to tell me anything about the status of my account. I was promised numerous times that Eric was meeting with his "partners" the next day... and that he promises he will call me that day with an answer. I NEVER received A SINGLE phone call. I had to keep calling and calling. Simply ridiculous. And after all this... they refused to reimburse me for the past 2 years of monthly membership charges!
