I live 4.3 hours away and happened to be in town, hoping to finally get adjusted by someone who truly knows what they are doing. Since arriving to Georgia, I have been to numerous chiropractors and every experience has been disappointing. I have very specific needs, especially for neck adjustments done while I am on my stomach using advanced techniques that require real experience and skill. Before coming in, I spoke with Dr. Jacob on the phone and explained exactly what I needed. He assured me he could perform those adjustments, but after more than eight failed chiropractic experiences, I was still nervous. From the moment I arrived, I felt at ease. Shynice at the front desk was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the entire office had a calm, professional, and genuinely caring atmosphere. Everything was spotless and extremely clean. The adjustment itself was incredible. From the moment I laid down, Dr. Jacob easily performed the exact neck adjustment that so many other chiropractors failed to do. My neck, which had been stiff for months, finally released with a powerful crack and the relief was immediate. The tension headache I had been living with was completely gone. Every other adjustment was just as precise and effective. My entire body relaxed and released again and again. After being in severe pain for so long, the relief was overwhelming and I found myself in tears and Shynice was so kind to bring me tissue and Dr. Jacob was patient and didn't rush me while I was having a moment. Not usually a review person but I'm in pain so I'll share. I went to a Joint Clinic in Woodstock Georgia where I live the last time I was in this much back pain. I happened to be in downtown Atlanta and had the same back problem I did in woodstock a few months back. At the Woodstock location, I was admitted and handled with great care. The doctor helping me explained everything happening with me in detail, felt for inflammation in my back, taught me some stretches that would help, and used some tools he said would help me in my specific case scenario and I walked out feeling 80% better and 100% in the following days. The midtown location was none of that. They were kind in there, but I explained my scenario and she said ok lie down. I got a standard back adjustment from the looks of it and after she told me she hopes it helps. I walked out feeling 20% worse than when I walked in. They put me in even more pain and IDK what to do because I'm having a hard time walking and breathing. I'll be going back to the woodstock location in the next couple days to see if they can do what they did last time to help me. But for now i'm left in miserable pain still. read more

The fast food joint of Chiropractors... Kids, busy work schedules, travel, unmoved lawn and the list goes on...the stress adds up and takes a toll on your body. You get a reprieve for a few hours and need a wellness moment. This place is next to Whole Foods...I kill two birds with one stone / trip. I'm with the chiropractor for all of 5 minutes...I'm told I'll feel better within a day or two...I pay $39...I never get the emailed receipt...but I do feel much better in two days... I prefer my "regular" Chiropractor who won't let me leave his office until I feel better and takes his time. I made a last minute appointment and it was my first time having an adjustment by a chiropractor. Bree was very informative in regards to the stretches & procedures I needed to do to alleviate the pain in my lower back. My pain was minor & inconsistent so I didn't feel the need to have a membership at this time, however, I will consider it in the future. The only suggestion I have is to suggest a lower plan for those who only may want to come in once or twice a month. Also, to include a plan involving x-ray footage of the main problem areas and how to eliminate the root cause. read more

Barely a month ago, I was having the weirdest sensation between my shoulder blades, when I'd turn my head from side to side. It was like tissue being snagged between bone or something. I guess you could say my back was proverbially "blown out". So I took to the internet in search of an affordable chiropractor and this is where my search ended. I found other chiropractors, of course, but there are a few reasons I chose The Joint over the others that I found: 1. My insurer doesnt cover chiropractic visits, so I needed something affordable. 2. My schedule is grueling, so I needed the convenience of no appointments, and very little waiting. 3. They have monthly memberships. I signed up for a membership on my first visit and just this Saturday past, I went for my FOURTH, and theres a world of difference ALREADY!! No more pinching or grinding, no more crooks and general discomfort associated with vertebral subluxation. I have friends and co workers who are afraid of how "getting adjusted" sounds, i.e., the popping associated with it and I tell them, thats what its all about! Words cannot describe that feeling, its like cracking your knuckles only, its your back and afterwards a wave of relaxation follows. Use the coupon they give you to follow up with a visit to Massage Envy in the lower level, and I promise you feel much better about a lot of things. I was pleasantly surprised after my first visit to the Joint on Ponce de Leon about a week ago. What a relief it was to walk right in, and lay right down for a very effective adjustment. The Joint is very affordable at $50. per month for 4 adjustments and $12.50 for additional visits. Most chiropractor fees are just outrageous, plus they have bankers hours, and most times they overbook and the wait is unbearable, even when you have an appointment. "Old school' chiropractors made us believe we had to pay hundreds of dollars for xrays before they would even touch you. Something I never understood. Dr. John is wonderful, funny and he must be a magician cuz, he's sure got the magic touch. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes on my second visit, a little longer for the first because I had to fill out paperwork and the friendly chit-chat. Briana the front desk receptionist is warm, friendly and very personable. The Joint comes highly recommended, and I am looking forward to at least 6 months of adjustments - the minimum commitment at the $50./month rate. The Joint is the McDonald's of Chiropractic. If all you are looking for is a quick adjustment this place is still hit and miss. It is safe to say that this kind of "spa" is what makes people think that Chiropractic is not legitimate. When my regular Chiropractor gave up his personal practice in the same building and joined The Joint, I was a little worried that I wouldn't get the same personalized attention that I got with a private practice. I was absolutely right. Before you can even enter the office (on the second floor of a strip mall), you hear the music. For me, it was "Rock You Like A Hurricane" and other squealing rock medleys from the 80's. The irony of having just witnessed Puerto Rico, Florida, and Texas being ravaged by hurricanes in the previous week was not lost on any of the folks walking by. And yes, the music was so loud you could not carry on a conversation while walking by the outside of the office. Regardless, imagine yourself in a tiny, dark, odiferous strip mall listening to Scorpions or Winger so loud you can't hear your doctor--now relax... Inside, you are immediately greeted by the smell that happens when someone forgets to turn off their Essential Oil burner and it gets crispy. The smokey and pungent air is of course mirrored by the dark brown lobby, the extra tall counter, and the coffee-stain-as-art back wall that separates the lobby from the rest of the office. The floors were supposed to be artistic and grungy, but they just came off grungy. I peered over the extra-tall counter where I found someone to help me. He hands me a clipboard with a stack of paper and tells me to have a seat and fill out seven pages worth of forms and bring them back up when I'm done. Keep in mind, I am coming to see my existing Chiropractor whom I have been seeing for years. Why wasn't I already in the system? I figured I was just being grumpy because I was in a lot of pain and really needed help. I couldn't sit down because the lobby has the single-least ergonomic seating on the planet. Ikea black leather box seats that sit on the floor do not make it easy to get into or out of when you have a problem with your back. My partner filled out the paperwork and my doctor cheerfully invites me back. Behind the nicotine-fingernail-colored divider wall, there is an open room with 3 chiropractic benches right out in the open. My first thought was, am I going to be on display here? And sure enough, I was. I try to explain why I am there, but it really did not matter. He did the same adjustment that everybody gets and sends me on my way after trying to sell me a package. He tells me that the front desk person will give me some "goodies" to take with me, but that was not the case. I got a flyer that listed prices and was mimeographed on someone's school mom's repurposed mimeograph from the 80's. I felt a little better, but couldn't help but wonder if he had fixed the problem. By the end of the day, I was in so much pain that I had to go to my regular doctor to get an x-ray. I had swelling in my right lower back that was so bad that I could not stand up. Turns out it was unrelated to the adjustment, but why didn't the Chiropractor notice it during his 15-minute adjustment. After I explained how much pain I was in, you would think that he would at least look to see if I had a grapefruit sized mound sticking out my back. After three more days, I had to go back to see him. Of course, he was not there, so they assigned me to another Chiropractor. He clicked a reflex gadget on the back of my legs and arms and proceeded to lecture me about the perils of self-administration of prescribed steroids. He literally pushed twice on my back, and played with my legs, telling me I had to relax those muscles before he could do anything. Charged me 49$ and sent me on my way--but not before trying to get me to buy a package and some icy-hot. I decided that I would wait to see my regular Chiropractor, but he was at some conference so he would not be back until Monday. On Monday, he was supposed to be back Tuesday and he would be available Tuesday and Wednesday. Today is Wednesday, I am in terrible pain and have not been able to walk for nearly a week and I called in to find out he won't be available until Friday. This is after calling several times yesterday with no answer and even visiting the office in person--nobody there. I will not be returning to this location and I will be requesting a refund for the terrible pretend adjustment that I paid $49 for. Chiropractic is a legitimate medical service and this company exemplifies why Chiropractic has been given such a bad name for so long. read more

I quickly took to Yelp to find a local practice and so happy I chose this place! I came as a walk-in, filled out paperwork which took no more than 20 minutes and was quickly seen by Dr. Boyd. He was absolutely amazing that I'm now considering signing up for a wellness plan. My sciatic pain subsided immediately after my adjustment and the second best part, was that the visit was only $19!!! I have seen a few of the chiropractors at the Southern California branch; Phoenix, Arizona where I first learned about the business; and also even in Austin, Texas. Quick adjustments and definitely in-and-out within 5-10 mins. The chiropractors at The Joint have definitely helped me the past months with my lower back and neck issues due to taking some gnarly throws, slams, and kicks. (Work is tough!) Oh! Amazing. My boyfriend took me to get a massage several months ago for some General Pain and though it felt nice we both walked out with nothing feeling necessarily resolved or fixed. I decided to take him here for an adjustment for his birthday and while he was filling out the forms I heard another woman talk about how amazing her adjustment just felt and couldn't resist getting one too. It was amazing. My boyfriend 'cracks' my back all the time but it was nothing like this. It was very quick too wants filling out the forms each one of our adjustments maybe took 5 to 10 minutes. John was our chiropractor and was very energetic and happy to help us both. Also the woman checking out soon was very informative about all of the services that they offer. Basically you have to come in THE EXACT DAY you are charged for the month, or else have to pay for another month after cancelling. The Joint's billing practices are unsavory and require customers to jump through hoops to avoid having their card being charged for services that were not rendered. This company's "come in to cancel" policy requires customers to come into the practice to cancel their account. After being a member for a couple months (Nov. - Dec.) I expressed my desire to cancel my account and was reminded of this policy. I said, "okay. I will come in to cancel my account but please do not charge my card further as I will not be coming in for any further treatment". The secretary agreed to this request and told me not to worry. The next week (January) I saw a $49.00 charge on my account from The Joint. I called and left a message asking that this charge be rescinded and that I would be over promptly to cancel my account in person and deal with this issue. Upon my arrival the secretary was not present however one of the two practicing chiropractors was there. I explained the situation and asked to cancel my account. Upon hearing this the chiropractor fiddled with the computer for a second before saying that he did not know how to print the customer termination form and that I would have to come in at a later date to get this done. I begrudgingly agreed and left my information asking him to have his employee call me to discuss account cancellation and a refund for the last charge. He agreed to this request and told me not to worry. 3 weeks later I am told that because I did not give 30 days notice to my cancellation that I would not be refunded the latest charge. (30 days notice? This isn't a fucking lease. It's a WALK-IN clinic! It's not like they need a heads up because I was making appointments all the time.) Anyways, I was just glad that it was over... THINK AGAIN! I get charged $49.00 in March. The Joint seemed to have "laid low" for 1 month and then just started charging me again in hopes that I wouldn't notice. The receptionist told me this time that my cancellation notice was not on file but she would send me a new cancellation form and refund the charge. The email that I then received stated the following "you will have until 04/10/16 to utilize your last adjustments before the membership terminates". I can only assume that this is a declaration of their intention to charge me at least one more time. TLDR; Don't sign up for a membership at The Joint. They will make unauthorized charges on your account and force you to spend an inordinate amount of time trying to cancel your account and dispute the charges. read more

You jump straight into the chair (or table or whatever you call it) and next thing you know, you're done. They offer a $19 adjustment for first time visitors which is great. So if you don't like it, you can't be mad. John (the doctor I always see) has exceptional customer service skills. He was very informative and provided great tips to help keep my back pain free. Just be sure to ask questions. Especially if you are considering a membership. I also love the fact that they don't try to upsale you on a bunch of crap you aren't interestd in.
