I have periodically seen a chiropractor for the last 10 or so years. Thankfully no trauma or chronic issue, but I benefit from having adjustments every so often (and my body tells me when it is time). I saw Dr. Sherwood at Sherwood Chiropractor Center a few times this year. The receptionist is fantastic and the office is efficiently run. I thought my first few visits were effective with the doctor interacting with me and engaging me in conversation about what I hoped to achieve. As time went on, I felt that she became slightly aggressive about setting me up with a long term care plan. I know that insurance typically does not pay for preventative or well-being related chiropractic services, so to a certain extent, I understand her point. However, it cost the same amount of money for me to pay for an office visit out of pocket as it did for my insurance copay--and the receptionist tried to emphasize this point, rather than pushing a plan. I also felt like my visits became very transactional and the doctor just went straight into adjustment mode without inquiring or engaging. I never had a bad experience here save for the bad taste left in my mouth being pressured to commit to a plan and regular visits, so if you're looking for basic chiropractic services where you're in and out without really developing any kind of relationship, this might be the place for you. read more

When I went to Sherwood Chiropractic I was asked to see my insurance information. The receptionist said it would be better for me to pay out of pocket instead of going through my insurance, which I agreed too. Months later I received a bill stating that I had a balance remaining after insurance. How can that be? I was told NOT to use my insurance which I agreed too and paid out of pocket for every visit. Now they have turned my account over to a collection agency and their fraudulent charge is affecting my credit Sounds like a racket to me. Shame on you Sherwood. I've been going to Sherwood Chiropractic Center for almost 10 weeks now. I have seen so many improvements in such a little time. I use to suffer from debilitating migraines several times a week. I was on a daily medication, and also an emergency mediation if it got bad enough. Since seeing these doctors I have only had one or two migraines that were very manageable, and I have stopped taking my daily medication. I have also noticed my sleeping patterns are completing different. I used to toss and turn all night from lower back pain, and wake up always feeling tired. Now I sleep through and night and always wake up feeling well rested. The staff at this office is very professional, friendly, and caring. Very friendly staff. They try very hard and are successful at creating a personalized and affective chiropractic experience. When you walk in everyone knows you by name from the very cheerful receptionist (Mindy) to the doctors. I've been to other chiropractors but none that I had wanted to return to after the first visit. Sherwood chiropractic center was very different. During my first visit I saw Dr. Cohen and Dr. Sherwood. He explained to me how chiropractic treatments are designed to help in the short as well as long term. As a person who just finished a graduate level Physiology course he's explanation made sense but it was clear enough for anyone to understand. However, the main reason I chose them for my chiropractic care is the fact that they adjusted me at my first visit. I was amazed because Dr. Sherwood were able to pinpoint my problem areas as I was being adjusted. This allowed me to trust in their chiropractic expertise and knowledge. It's been over a month now and I've felt a lot better since starting care with them. I highly recommend:) will update as I go through phase 2 of my treatment plan. PS. They have multiple payment options to help with the cost of care. I chose to prepay for my first 12 treatments and that saved me about $9 per visit. I never ever visited a chiropractor before so had low expectations and honestly didn't know what to think when I showed up at Sherwood's door. After experiencing super painful sciatica while pregnant, I knew I had to do something to get relief and a couple friends swore that Sherwood made their pregnancy pains go away. After finding out that BCBS would cover my chiropractic visits for a reasonable co-pay, I made my first appointment via Mindy to be seen. Sherwood walked me through an assessment and got me adjusted right away. Most importantly, they helped ease my sciatica pain through weekly visits during my pregnancy. Honestly, they were the 2nd best thing I did for myself while pregnant (the first being prenatal yoga at Breathe Yoga in Chamblee with Cheri!) and I really felt cared for as a patient there. All the doctors took a genuine interest in my care and well-being. I felt really supported while there and immediately felt like I was one of the Sherwood family. And my goodness, that water table - I can't tell you how many naps I snuck in while receiving that glorious treatment... While all the doctors are amazing, Dr. Cohen specializes in prenatal chiropractic treatment and I highly recommend seeing him if you have any aches and pains, especially if you happen to have round ligament pain. I found that I saw all the doctors on rotation and that they all had different skills, but at the end of the day, all of them made me feel healthy and better, and for that, I'm thankful. I also noticed that I didn't get any colds or headaches while receiving treatment. Not sure if that was a coincidence or not, but worth noting. Mindy is a dream come true as a receptionist - super friendly and so kind. It was always easy to schedule and reschedule appointments with her as needed. I love that Saturday morning appointments were available as that was often the best time for me to be treated. I usually never experienced much of a wait, but when I did wait, I was very comfortable. There's free wifi as well as a water cooler and plenty of reading materials. There are also chair and foot massagers while you wait to see the doctor. Nice! If you're pregnant and seeking pain relief, give Sherwood a try! You may be surprised how much it helps! read more

I have been a patient if I can recall correctly 4 years or so. Was involved in an auto accident in March of this year almost 3 yrs to the date from my last accident. The physical therapy I have received has helped me get back to normal with significant improvement. I return for periodical adjustments. I had so many questions and at every level of my physical therapy. They took their time in answering them. If it was questions from submitting my accident claim, to payment options, the extent of the damage to my body from the accident and then some. It was also important for me to keep an open mind during my treatment and share with them how my body was progressing. My treatment was a group effort and they made sure all my questions or concerns were answered and addressed. Beware of this practice! If I could give them zero stars alone for just their customer service I would!!! The front office manager as well as the chiropractor clinician are very rude!!! They would not take me on as a client because I stated I may need to transfer my care and asked about the process of transferring. Also they insisted on me getting a lawyer before offering me medical care. What happened to the oath of first do no harm!? All they want is money and don't care about you as a patient! For about six weeks (December to January), I had achy pain in my neck, shoulders, and back, which I attributed to maybe sleeping funny or turning wrong way. I had noticed my range of motion was limited in how I turned my head and moved my arms, but I thought I just needed to stretch more. I initially tried Complete Spine Solutions (Tucker) and they were kinda pushy and salesy and turned me off with their mandatory 90 minute meeting that my spouse (who wasn't seeking treatment) needed to attend. They recommended 10 weeks, 2x a week, which as much pain and discomfort as I was in, I was ready. Luckily, my insurance covers treatment so I'm paying a normal copay (my insurance did not cover CSS, and their prices were about $85-125 per session based on the rough estimate they gave me after running my insurnace). Within 2 sessions with Dr. Cohen, I noticed a difference and within 2-3 weeks, I was sleeping better and my pain was gone. You are greeted by name (even with the masks on) and it's a very casual, friendly place. read more

This is the best chiropractic office I've been to, and I've been to many in the last 20 years. My children and I have been coming here for years, and they have it is back together after many injuries and illnesses. I have been going to Sherwood for... well, almost my entire life so far. My sister has literally been going since birth. I go to Sherwood constantly, and plan to keep coming for years and years- the staff is amazing and extremely friendly and kind, the whole place is open and comfortable, and the free tea is delicious (and I get some every time; it adds to the experience). I highly recommend coming to Sherwood Chiropractic, because honestly, no matter how old you are, there's always going to be something that will get knocked or twisted, and you'll need somebody to help set you back in place. Let me start with this. The doctors distribute business cards offering free consultation.....but ....Guess what?. I was told that the moment the doctor "puts his hands on you" you pay, so the first consultation is never FREE. Ridiculous! Don't fall for the free consultation. Now about the service. If you decide to use their services choose Dr. Minor, at least he takes the time to do what needs to be done. I will give an example - treatment with Dr. Cohen's lasts about 5 minutes, treatment with Dr. Minors lasts 10 to 15 minutes and with Dr. Sherwood about 10 min. They all are nice people but that's not the only thing I am willing to pay for. read more

I have been receiving care at Sherwood Chiropractic Center for a few weeks and have noticed quite a few changes in my body and mental health between my first visit and my most recent visit. Note: I started treatments to help curb my lower back pain that is a result from a car accident and exacerbated by the demands of my job. The level of professionalism is top-notch. I always enter the office greeted by a smile from everyone there regardless of the time of day or how busy they are. My questions - and I have a lot - are answered so that I can understand but not in such a way that I feel stupid for asking. The staff here seem genuinely happy that I want to know as much as I can about my treatment and their practices. The first two adjustments left my body feeling incredibly sore for a few days and I thought to myself, "I hope I didn't make a terrible mistake by seeing a chiropractor!" I kept going back and after the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th visits, I noticed much more about my body. The regular aches and pains in my feet and legs from being on my feet all day were hardly noticeable. The dull roar of lower back pain from wearing a tool belt for hours on end was almost non-existent. Aside from physical ailments, I also noticed that I was thinking more clearly and positively. I was much less anxious - a big deal for someone who has suffered from anxiety for years. A very difficult day at work that would previously have made me break out into a cold sweat hardly had an impact now and I found myself taking the challenge on with ease. I will continue to return for treatments at Sherwood Chiropractic Center and recommend that everyone try it at some point - and please stick with it even if you feel discomfort after your first few visits like I did! The combination of the treatments and the fact that I'm taking steps to repair current damage and prevent future problems has me feeling healthier and happier than I think I ever have before. read more

I've been coming to Sherwood Chiropractic for over a year and absolutely love it. It's important to me to find health care providers, of any sort, that share my health care ideals. That is to say, I'm very interested in curing the body from the inside out and avoiding medication as much as possible. That is definitely the motivation driving Sherwood Chiropractic. In addition to the adjustments they offer a lot of learning opportunities. They offer instructional seminars on how to best use foam rollers, lacrosse and racquetballs for self myofascial tissue release, which is something everyone should be able to do. Additionally, they explain a lot of the WHY behind chiropractic. All in all, very informative. The adjustments are very hands on, and my body always feels great afterwards. And, to top it off, the doctors and staff are great! I've seen a few changes in the year + I've been a patient but every single person who has worked in this office has been wonderful. Dr. Sherwood has a wonderful bedside manner and is extremely proficient at what she does. I trust my spine in her hands completely. So, if you're looking for a little chiropractic (and you should, trust me) I highly recommend stopping in here first. You won't regret it. This is a well-run office that provides high-quality chiropractic care. However, they are VERY entrepreneurial, and this can be a significant turn-off. The place is quite literally wall-papered with posters and video messages extolling the importance of chiropractics -- even when you are lying on your back on a treatment table, there are advertisements bombarding you from the ceiling! This clearly crosses the line from educating to marketing, and it treads dangerously close to attempts at mind control. Seeing my husband in excruciating pain, wondering if he would be able to work coupled with the repeated recommendations of friends pushed me to make the appointment. Dr. Sherwood has a passion for what she does, this is obvious, and my husband knew that she cares about her patients based on his care. While every injury is different- for him to go from not being able to move to going back to work two days after his appointment was such a relief to him. Sherwood has been treating me for several years now, more for maintenance than accute issues. I have a handicap that effects my walk but my every other week treatment at Sherwood has kept me from suffering from anything accute. Yesterday was my 8th visit to Sherwood. I was asked to complete a short questionaire to assess what I understood about chiropractics. How enlightening. The doctor went over it with me item by item, I was impressed. I started treatments because of chronic back pain. I had spinal fusion in 2002 and have not been pain free since.
