I came back for another chiropractic posture adjustment and was really glad to see Dr. Gan Liu again. During the Japan Fest, I had a posture check that showed my spine was slightly misaligned, so I wanted to follow up and take care of it. After talking with Dr. Liu, I had an adjustment to relax my neck and back. Then came the relaxing part--lying on a spinal massage bed. After about 20 minutes of relaxation, I felt my whole body come back to life. I also tried the pillow Dr. Liu recommended last time for better sleep and neck support--it turned out to be really good! Several months ago, I suffered from severe back pain and stiffness. Finally, in desperation, I decided to search for a chiropractor near my place of work. I made a few inquiries across several places and did not expect to hear back right away because it was a Saturday evening, but Dr. Sommer responded immediately and made me an appointment for the next week. At my first appointment, we did x rays, and Dr. Sommer explained them as well as a care plan in detail. He then explained each part of the treatment. The office is clean and well kept. The staff are friendly and welcoming and Dr. Sommer is very personable. They remember you and are excited when you are feeling better. It's a very individualized process. I am so glad I gave this practice a shot because I now wake up without crippling pain and I plan to continue periodic visits to maintain back and spinal health. Dr. Sommer is also excellent about altering return times as necessary for the patient and we discuss return dates at the end of each appointment. The people who work at Duluth Chiropractic and Wellness Center really care about you. I first came to them, new to town, injured after a crash, in one of the worst periods of my life. They immediately took me on as a patient, and even offered to help negotiate payments with law firms and made sure I stayed hydrated! (Something I was too dazed to remember to do at the time with all that was overwhelming me.) I was always checked in with about where my pain was at (something I feel most doctors neglect to do), never spent more than 30 minutes at a time getting treated, and always left with a straighter spine! After a couple sessions, I was okayed to focus more on getting a neurologist instead, but the office made sure to help me on that journey by recommending one to me! Love this office. I chose this practice since it is close to work and had great reviews. I initially saw Dr. Sommer for neck and shoulder pain exacerbated by tennis. The office staff was kind and attentive and since this practice was in-network for my insurance plan, I paid a $35 copay for 9 visits and am now pain-free. They are always on schedule and have plenty of flexible appointments times. After came back from the Duluth chiropractic, my rib was swelling and hurt. The Dr said that was very common ; however, It lasts more than three weeks. So far I still have pain. Update - 11-13-18 - I have been coming to Duluth Chiropractic for a year now and I can honestly say that my pain i experience is low and is being managed. Like with everything else, it takes time and multiple visits. The only difference is that I am not taking any pain meds to manage the pain and I do not have to worry about the potential side effects or fear becoming addicted to the medicine. I still recommend Duluth chiropractic to anyone who is seeking long term pain relief. I am very impressed with the service at Duluth chiropractor. I had severe back and shoulder pain after I finished moving. I lived with the pain for a long while, but it became too much to bear. I had two treatment options before me, I could go to my regular doctor and more than likely get prescribed pain meds, or find an alternative. If I went to my regular doctor, the meds would mask the pain and not address the problem. I wasn't too thrilled about taking meds, so I did some research to find an alternative method to correct the problem. After a lot of research, i came across Duluth chiropractic. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. I came in, filled out the paper work, and explained what happened. Dr. Sommer listened and informed me that it sounds like my spine and shoulder was out of alignment and that this process would take a few sessions. In the first appointment, Dr. Sommer made some adjustments, i felt the pressure subside. After coming here for a few sessions, the pain is now a former shadow of what it was. After seeing tons of run of the mill and questionable Chiropractic offices when I moved from Richmond, VA to Duluth, I asked my chiropractor if he had any referrals around my new town, Dr Sommer was first on his very short list. It was (and has been) a great expeierence from the get go, and I continue to reccomend this office when any one asks for a great Chiro, especially individuals who have never been to one and are reasonably nervous about doing so, but also individuals who have been one way or another burnt out from another practitioner. I typically go in the mornings, and Scarlett, the receptionist, is the nicest person you will ever meet and is a bright light in the world. The offices are clean. The bedside manner is par none. I have been coming for debilitating migraine headaches, and they have diminished under the care of Dr Sommer, to which I am eternally grateful.
