The rooms are always clean, the Elderwood is an ice touch, and the vibe is always fun. During this trip, all was fine when what sounded like the HVAC system above our room started to knock. It's an old historic building so, things happen. The knocking though quickly turned into a roar. We contacted the front desk and this is where the true professionalism of the hotel crew, and particularly Maria, shined through. Maria quickly came upstairs, assessed the situation, triaged with other teams inside the hotel, and identified a solution within 20 minutes. Given the scope of the repair was unclear at the time, she moved us to another room and even upgraded us (even though she didn't have to!) for the inconvenience. Things happen, that's not an issue for us, it's how the team addresses them when they come up. The Darling team rose to the occasion with flying colors so seamlessly in this situation, especially Maria. So for us, just underscores a series of positive experiences at the hotel. This isn't an ultra luxury 5-star hotel, so don't come here expecting that. But it's a great place to stay in Visalia with a premium, boutique vibe, great restaurant, and clean well apportioned rooms. We will be back.

Room service was good quality, appropriately priced and arrived quickly. The only reason I couldn't give this 5 stars was there was no internal secondary lock on the door which made it feel a little unsafe as a solo traveler and also there were not clear instructions about how to enter the gated parking lot upon checking in. Otherwise I had a good stay and would consider visiting again just to eat at the restaurant.

With last-minute rain, they had to move things around multiple times, and not once did they complain. Everything was done with such a positive attitude and a smile. Tables were always cleared, glasses stayed full, and every staff member was kind and attentive. I especially want to shout out Bernice and Jonathan. Jonathan was there all day and truly worked his butt off--he impressed all of us. Bernice's customer service is top tier. She made sure we actually ate and always had a drink in hand, which meant so much during such a busy day. Our guests were complimenting the staff all night. I highly recommend The College Minions. Maria was so helpful throughout the whole process, from planning from the beginning to the day of the wedding she was always available. Her and the college minion team did such a fantastic job setting everything up . All our wedding guests were truly impressed. We also had the college minion team for clean up during dinner time and it was a big help. I feel so blessed to have found college minions to help with my wedding. It took so much stress off of my shoulders on the wedding day and the days leading up I was confident they would handle everything and they did. Long overdue review!…read more THANK YOU SAL AND EVERYONE AT BLISS EVENTS GROUP! My wife and I got married at the darling hotel on 12/12/24, and I think we booked Sal (officially) a few months before the wedding after previously talking with him months before. Even with the short time crunch, Sal had us covered! He gave us very easy forms to fill out with the songs we wanted, when to play them, which songs we absolutely had to play, what not to play etc. Sal took the time to get us on the phone and for the first 30 minutes, he just wanted to get to know us! Asked for our story, what we did for work, etc. and vice versa! We got to know him as well which made everything fit perfectly as time went on! my wife and I had some trouble figuring out songs for some of the formalities like father daughter dance, and some of the walk outs for the wedding party, but Sal was able to nail it with his suggestions after getting to know us a little better! The day of the wedding came and Sal was ON POINT with everything! Sal isn't just any ordinary wedding DJ that goes through the motions of hitting play and making announcements.. He literally goes above and beyond, making everything flow effortlessly without any awkward in between moments, and the fact that we had gotten to know each other.. it was like having a family member DJ the wedding! Also: Our baby girl was 7 months old during our wedding, and we had misplaced her baby formula. Sal over heard what was going on and offered to call his contacts in town to go pick up baby formula for our daughter if we needed so we wouldn't have to worry about it. We ended up finding the formula, but TELL ME WHO WOULD DO THAT?! SAL IS F'N AWESOME FOR THAT! Hands down, bliss events group knows what they're doing. Never once did I ever feel like I had to worry about the DJ being on que or if they were going to be properly prepared. If I ever need a DJ in the future for any type of event, I'm definitely going with bliss events group and would refer them to anyone. Lastly: They are busy! Sal mentioned he was booked almost EVERY DAY in December and we are so grateful that he made time for our wedding. We didn't get a call back right away, but keep in mind.. A BUSY DJ IS A GOOD DJ! First off, we were limited to 6 types of alcohol. When I arrived I saw three 750 ml bottles of each liquor behind the bar. I assumed there was more in storage, but just as dinner was starting I was told they ran out of some items and they closed the bar. WHAT?? I paid to have the bar OPEN all night. Our "day of coordinator" offered to go buy more but they wouldn't serve it. We had to wait 45 minutes or more for Director of Operations to get more from another venue and eventually they reopened. Meanwhile they refused to serve what items they still had to guests who came to the bar and were very RUDE to guests. My nephew came up to get the bride and groom a drink and was denied. Fortunately he persisted and they reluctantly made him some drinks. They wouldn't even give my brother a Diet Coke which he could clearly see in the fridge behind the bar. Another thing is....the contract says "no shots". I get that they don't want groups of people throwing back shots and becoming unruly, but some people just like to sip on some scotch or bourbon neat or on ice. They wouldn't prepare that. They insisted you had to have a mixer. I don't consider Crown on the Rocks a "shot". The Director offered me a $500 credit on a $7000+ bar bill but that doesn't excuse the rude behavior of the bartenders. I'll leave the other shortcomings for my daughter-in-law to review but very disappointed with the bar.

They were prompt in their arrival and pick up, and timely with their set up and take down. By far the most affordable. Everyone else in Visalia/Tulare charged upward of $230 for the slide we wanted. Everything we rented was in excellent condition. The slide was clean and visibly conditioned; very well taken care of. They also do catering! We can't wait to try that. What compelled me to share this experience was the response we received when acknowledging the reasonableness of their prices compared to their competitors. "We know we can charge more and make more money, but for us, that's not what it's all about. We're not trying to get rich. We know how difficult it can be to be able to afford to do something special like this and because we have been blessed, we want to make it possible for the people in our community to be able to afford it as well." I believe social responsibility is something every business should embrace. It is very noble of Atomic Jumpoline to put others above themselves in terms of affordability and do their part in serving their community.

Their food options were amazing We contacted Elaine and she gave us so many ideas and menu items to choose from. She helped us narrow it down and get the menu we loved. The day of the event ran so smooth. Elaine along with Brett and Amy were great. Punctual, respectful and professional. They finished cooking everything in out kitchen and set up the food for our guests The food they made was delicious and presented in such a beautiful way. Our guests along with us were in awe of everything. Great company. Talented.
