As someone who is relatively new to Yoga, I was pleased to find a place that I felt comfortable at…read moreright away. The place is great inside; the decor and and overall feel and it's quite clean! The studio provides blocks, mats, blankets and more. It's in a great downtown trendy location and is pretty easy to get to. The owner who is also a teacher there (Caroline) is so accommodating and nice! You can tell that she truly loves what she does and it's so great to see someone pour their heart and soul into their business. I would recommend this place to anyone (experienced or new to Yoga) who is looking for a great studio!

What gets me through the beginning-of-the-week-blues is Candlelight Flow on Tuesday nights. That,…read moreand Happy Hour Flow on Friday evenings. Oh, and 8am Vinyasa Flow on Saturday mornings. The studio is on the second floor of this old brick building in the trendy part of downtown Haverhill, where parking is ample either on the street or in the back parking lot ($.50/hr during the weekday, free after 8pm and on weekends). There's a really cute lobby area where you can leave your stuff on the benches. There's also a small curtained-off changing area. This might be weird to say, but I was also impressed by how clean and tastefully decorated the bathrooms are. But of course, the most important room is the yoga room, in which the positive and relaxing energy is almost palpable. High ceilings, dark wooden exposed beams, mustard yellow walls, and tall windows that look out onto the Merrimack River. This room beats any dingy gym I have ever taken a yoga class in. There are a ton of classes to choose from throughout the week, and the business operations of this studio run as smooth as butter. Just reserve a spot for a class online and then show up. There are a bunch of different payment and class bundle options available too. The owner, Caroline Giles is so incredibly friendly and encouraging. I also love how there are different classes for all levels of fitness and experience. I just wish classes weren't so pricey, although I think the $10/class cost is pretty average for places around here. I got a LivingSocial deal for 30 classes for $30 and it was the best 3-month break from the gym I have ever taken.

There's no doubt about it - I am picky about the places at which I do yoga. I can enjoy any yoga…read moreclass I take, as I strongly believe that you get out of something what you put into it. However, not a lot of instructors really put enjoyment INTO my practice. And, not a lot of studios feel welcome. As an instructor myself, I enjoy learning from all different teachers in a variety of styles. I happened to be pleasantly surprised when on a whim, I decided to take a class on the fourth of July. It was a vinyasa flow class, and I generally don't take a lot of vinyasa flow classes because my experiences are that many instructors throw in a lot of sun salutes, make you do the same sequence of poses, and you never really hold poses long enough to let yourself find a comfortable edge. Without writing a book about the class, I'll say that Katy did a great job of creating a flow that did not rush, let us stick around long enough to make adjustments, but it never took away from the adhesiveness of the class. Every pose and sequence had a purpose. Every correction and all commentary was appropriate and never long-winded. I then went the next morning when beach yoga got rained out, and loved it just as much. I'm making a move to Cape Ann next fall and can't wait to make this my regular home! p.s. I REALLY love 90 minute classes and I hope they continue to offer them :)

My husband and I were visiting town for the long weekend and decided to take Alli's Sunday morning…read morevinyasa class. It was the perfect start to our day! The studio was easy to find, the woman at the check-in desk was efficient and friendly at getting us signed up, and she even let us borrow two yoga mats for free which was much appreciated as we were traveling without our usual personal mats. The studio upstairs was quite hot (unintentionally, I believe) but Alli kept everyone motivated and present despite the heat. The studio is sizable and pretty with lots of assistive props to borrow. Alli's flow was really dynamic and challenging. I also am a yoga teacher, and I found myself enjoying her class a lot! Would definitely come back if we are in the area again!
