Brampton is one of those places that downtown folks don't venture often. Therefore knowledge of…read morewhere to go is not so easy. But this pub was surprisingly good. Located, literally in what seems like somewhere nondescript suburb strip mall area. There were a few cars in the parking area so that was a good start. Lol But the food was solid. We tried the poutine, lobster Mac and cheese, their ribs and chicken wings, calamari and nachos. Yes, fried but nothing was greasy or over cooked. It's better than the quite a few pub places in downtown Toronto. Pleasantly surprised by the whole place. Indeed very Irish forward! Check out the photos I uploaded it was pretty entertaining but I enjoyed the whole theme. Our service was great! Honestly, wish I had the name of this young fellow. He was awesome for our large table. We didn't wait long for the food or drinks we ordered. Although I'm in Brampton rarely I would be happy to try this again.

It was a nice sunny evening and we were sat on the patio, and served immediately, it wasn't a busy evening which was nice. I was craving a chicken pot pie, which is exactly what i had for dinner, and it was delicious. We had the lobster appetizer as well, although i wasn't a fan of it, as it wasn't real lobster. i thought it was super sweet that they brought out a little treat for my girl's birthday. A great local establishment!

There was a live band playing old school music and the vibe was all around welcoming. The bartender wasn't really social but she did acknowledge us and handed some menus. I decided to order a Shirley temple with a splash of Tito's for my drink and went with the Irish lamb burger for my meal. The burger was a lamb patty, caramelized onions, grilled apple, Brie cheese, greens and a curry aioli that I asked be put on the side. The meal also came with a side of fries. I didn't like the aioli so I requested bbq sauce to add to the burger. The meal was super super delish. Fries were crispy but lacking in the seasoning department. Quick fix with salt and pepper. Overall good eats. The only thing I didn't like was being charged for 2 oz ramekin of bbq sauce. I felt like that could've just been complimentary. Other than that great experience, and I recommend.

The decor is very "Irish discount Applebees", without the typical rustic vibe of a classic shebeen. With 90s music bopping out of the speakers, I grabbed a 20oz at the bar and asked what on the menu was good. I was recommended the margherita pizza and went for it. Praytell, dear reader, that the tale I unfurl for you next is not an exaggeration in any sense of the word. The item advertised as pizza arrived shortly thereafter and, upon first glance, it was clear that the plate placed before me held a prosecutable hate crime against the cuisine of Ireland, Italy, AND Canada. The highly-touted "homemade crust" was fingernail-thin had the consistency and flavor of a giant Saltine cracker, sans salt. The single topping, as far as I could tell, consisted of some form of shredded orange cheese. A faint crimson smear adorned the crust, but whether there was tomato sauce, basil, or any other seasoning typically found on pizza under said orange cheese was not discernible. The distinct "melted cheese on a cracker" flavor certainly did not imply there was anything other than these two items imprisoned on my poor plate. While the service was fine and the decor, while not what one would expect from a shebeen, was serviceable, Mississauga's The Irish Shebeen will go down in my culinary history as **the absolute worst** "pizza" I have ever eaten in my entire life. I would plead to the business' owners to throw this recipe directly into Lake Ontario, but that would be supremely unfair to whatever lives in Lake Ontario.

I sat in the sunroof area but was still warm thankfully as its -8c outside! And elderly regular came in and chatted up the waitress who was very friendly. I ordered mild wings and a coffee. The music was low key and thankfully the volume was low. The pub was very clean with many big screen TVs. I think Id like to come back for dinner or a sporting night! The wings were big and I ordered breaded. Good choice! They were super delicious and meaty. I appreciated the three wet-naps! (even with the three wet naps, I managed to leave the place with sauce on my face lol) I chose a single order and I could have eaten a double order. I'll definitely be coming here for wings again. $5 off wings on Thursdays and Sundays all day!! Yay! The service was so pleasant which made for a great lunch experience. So happy with this place. Highly recommend!! PS I still feel uncomfortable taking pics inside, but if you google images, that's pretty much it.
